Start Scale Models (SSM) 1:43 scale KraZ 257
Edsel-Dan replied to Junkman's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
I have seen a few of this company's kit I like, but so far Only From Russian sellers Wish a US based seller would stock them Especially at That price -
As far as I remember looking at them they are the Same kit Minor differences in Decals only I also have the Penski Set less the Van body and some other parts of it And built an Original Separate Penski issue of the Nascar Way Back When!!!! Also the Same kit just different decals
-
For the Most part Yes all but the "Woody: issue Can be built Stock however, since this kit is based off the Coupe/Sedan, the tail lights are incorrect. Most Deliveres had One tail light on the left side. The Temporary Twin the the other mag showed how to correct the kit The builder used a second fuel filler tube as the tail light Evergreen or plastruct (or sprue) rod can be used inplace of the kit part Fill in the car tail lights in the rear fenders

It is posible we May some day see the Stock version of this Matador back!!! The last 2 re-issues did include the Stock Hood and Grill, though only as a Nascar. I have Both issues, "Bobby Allison's Sportsman" and the Coca-Cola 75 Nascar . Bobby did drive the car in the Late Model/Busch series a couple years after retiring it from Cup compitition. Thus the labeling on the 2 issues.

Don't forget the Photo-etch Also from the New tooled kit I was buyint the Regular, Pro-Shop & Coca-Cola issues at Toys R Us for $3,50 or so back then And They were NOT suppose to have the Pro-Shop issue!!!! Still have one, and 3-4 of the Coke issue And I got the 100th Anniversary Tin at Extra Clearance from Hobby Lobby I did not have enough cash, and was going to leave it, but Manager said to make it Half the ticket I said it was already Clearance priced, that floor person said they did not have correct clearance stickers but, still said drop it. So I took the kit home for $8.oo +tax!!
-
This kit was NEVER an MPC kit!!!! AMT from the beginning to last issue I have the Stock 75 Annual issue of it!!

AMT Prestige '63 Corvette convertible
Edsel-Dan replied to FordRodnKustom's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I have the Prestiege kit too Need to dig it out and plan on her!! And NO the Photo-etch was Not included in the kti A Previous owner added that to it. You got lucky that way -
I have a 60 Convert I bought from Joe Wheat MANY Years ago Shortly after his Resin kits were announced in that Other mag. Too bad the only Resin he offers now are Built Painted and not kits!! Sadly though covered in THICK paint that I did strip, the 3 trim pieces in the right front fender insert were sanded down, and need to be replaced!!!

I thought the Instruction site there was Down

I wonder if they do it will they Block off all the Custom parts. The Firechief version was basically Stock Only, It did include the tri-deuce type aircleaner though I used it as an emergency light for the grill on one build
-
Actually, The Fire Chief Can be built already. The Light rack, Strobes, Siren, flashers, even Radio equipment are All Identical to those parts from the 70 Ford Police Cruiser!!!! I have 2 of the Impala Fire Chief, and 4+ of the Ford Police, so I can verify that!

any body have experience with 1/32 PYRO kits?
Edsel-Dan replied to fiatboy's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I want to say the at some time the Pyro/Life-Like/Lindberg 1/32 kits DID have Chrome I have a few of the 32 Fords & Chevy's and they do have chrome IF I can find them I will take pics. I want to say the chrome was more of an Aluminum look than Bright chrome but they weer plated not painted Also I think those issues came with Blue tint clear including those with headlight lenses It has been A LONG time, but.................................... I have passed the Lindberg re-issues at Ollie's as they were the same $7.99 that the 1/25 kits were And while the 1/25 got marked down over time, the 1/32 did not!!! -

AMT Retro Deluxe '53 Studebaker Customizing Kit
Edsel-Dan replied to FordRodnKustom's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Tires look like their Firestone Supremes Not a Good Early 50's tire Should have been the Deluxe Champions with Wide-White tampo -
Glad to see the 70 Bonney back. But I am Curious as to Which American LaFrance is coming. Pumper, Ladder or Snorkle?????
-
I wonder if anyone imports that Haynes kit Fairly expensive though. Approximately $52.oo US with shipping almost the same!! Wal-Mart has a "Smithsonian" kit of an inline 4 Cylinder engine only $20.oo

Jo-Han 68 Cadillac DeVille
Edsel-Dan replied to PowerPlant's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The 68 Convertible I bought new and built was also molded in tan But the 68 Chrysler 300 was Orange!!. Similar or same as Both of my 62 Dodges!! Jo-Han used what ever color they had available when running tooling I had 2 of the USA Oldies Marlin. 1 molded white, and still had the wire axle other Molded red, and had the heavy plastic axle!! The 70 Eldorado I bought new was almost white, 1 I got a couple years ago is Orange to Pink One person called it "Pink-Lemonade" -
Jo-Han 68 Cadillac DeVille
Edsel-Dan replied to PowerPlant's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Also, The 64's No longer have the Steering as on the 68 that the Original Annual had I have Both Coupe & Convertible DeVille 64 and Both have the straight axle front.. The Ambulance is Probably the Most Sought after Jo-Han kit!!!! -
The above is Why I call the 64 Shortboxe Fleetside a Cameo type and Not correct Fleetside Yes it make alignment simple, but does NOT repr4esent the actual design of the truck And Correct AMT's Modern Tool 60 Shortbox was done the Same way It gives the Fleetside box the Look of the Cameo Stepside box with the outer box sides/fenders attached For those who don't mind or care, it's no big deal I altered mine. It is Not that hard, though it took a Second pickup bed to do so.
-
I too am interested in the 66 Fleetside. But, I believe that will be the 64/65 kit marked as a 66. Ad will include the incorrect Cameo type fleetside box. Sure wish they would retool that part to separate the outer box sides/Fenders to make a Correct Fleetside!!!! Also betting it stays Shortbox like the 64-65 kits!! That is ok as long as they Do give us Correct 66 Trim, etc!!!

Thanks to AMT/MPC

As to back-dating the 76 Caprice to 71 Specs. If they did that, it would be an IMPALA, Not Caprice!! 763 was the First year the Big Chevy Annual became a Caprice I Have the Blue 72 In my collection "IMPALA": Yes, they Could do the Caprice for those years, But if done as "Retro-Deluxe" and Identical to Original the 70-72's would be Impala's. I would Love for them to do the 70 Impala Convertible kit again. Wish I could find Mine!!! Got a FEW parts, but...................................... -
I also have one of the F+F 70 Impala 4dr's It May have been the Very LAST one Ed jr had!!! I am not sure the mold is Up to use anymore the way Ed told me when I was trying to get mine!! I have had it for several years, and HOPE to do a copy of the 4dr we had back then Green Metallic with a White Vinyl Roof Dad Ordered the vinyl added!!!! Yes the F+F is a Hardtop or Pillarless "Sprort-Sedan" as was ours I need to check to see if the Buick Wildcat's roof is the same as the Impala 4dr. I know the SS roof of Both AMT's & MPC's hardtops was Different The Concave (Reverse Curve) rear window vs convex of the 4dr
-
Where did you find it for $65.oo?? I have only seen it at 70+++++
