Jo-Han 1970 Cadillac Eldorado
Edsel-Dan replied to PowerPlant's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I built one shortly after the re-issue in the 80's That the 68 DeVille Convertible, and the 63 Fury were the ONLY 3 Jo-Han kits to be re-issued Complete in tact with All old Customizing parts Still included And YES, I got ALL 3 back then! And More recently got a built 68 DeVille Convert 63 Fury Missing only 1 tail light lens & 2 Unbuilt 70 Eldo's!! I also got a 63 Fury Convert restoration project, but that was a trade deal and separate I traded one of the unbuilt Eldos, Molded in White (or VERY light green/cream) but still have the other Molded in Orange! (Though one Late trade buddy called it More "Pink Lemonade") To me it looks like Both tail light lenses Might be there. I see a shape that looks like the 2 set back to back (Straight hidden inner surface to straight hidden inner surface) Remember, the top & bottom edges are pretty much Parallel, just the top Shorter ONLY the face that points out is angled I just checked my Orange/Pink Lemonade Unbuilt YES, Both Tail light lenses ARE there the red Sprue is a "T" shape with the Short stub having the 2 lenses on either side, the Long stub runs Under them I can take a Large Picture, but CAN NOT yet post it Anyone know where to get a "NANO' end usb cable? I have a Cheap COOLPIX L31 from Nikon, and it did Not include the cable!!!!! A friend found one but for $20.oo!! NO WAY (almost what I paid for Camera!!!) Make it $5.oo -6.oo please!! -
ROUND2/AMT 1969 GTX QUESTION......
Edsel-Dan replied to AC Norton's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I need to look it up again, but believe the 68 DID offer the Grabber hood too But the Screens were SIDEWAYS, aka ON the Sides of the bulges, not Top! I have 2 69 GTX Convert, and 1 Hardtop and all have the Correct 69 Hood. the 68's I have also have their Correct hood. I need to check , but since they are Original's believe they have HEMI on what would be the Screen area of the bulge I believe the First GTX Hardtop, the Pro-Street had the Custom 440 I know the Convertible came only with the Hemi!!! I need to also check the STOCK hardtop to see if it had both engines I Passed on the Pre-Painted 68 as it has the 69 black STRIPES on the hood vs the correct rounded corners Rectangle -
I am curious about the Locomotive in the 1 pic. And the Van underneath it.

They are at least the Same three kits Lindberg offered WAY BACK. If the Tires are 2pc, and the body sections Screw together, then YES They ARE the Lindberg Tooling too!!!! I am Betting they ARE the Old Lindberg tooling!!!! Would be Odd to have some one Re-tool American Heavy Equipment like that when they have similar Brands over there! Even IF Cat sells over there too. I would Bet the Cat rigs would be Much More expensive then more local manufatcures!!!

Try this again Lost in a Disconnect Don't you just LOVE Clowns that Don't Understand Honest, Simple, LEGITIMATE questions about kits?!?!?!?!? I Stated that the Box Art Shows a Family sedan AND LOOK----- I SEE A FAMILY THERE TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Father Plus THREE Kids Usually Equals FAMILY Outing!!!!!!!!! Would YOU drive Your kits in a Car like this kit builds with RACE Exhaust designed primarily to get the car the SHORT drive to the strip, then Back afterwards when Closed to "STREET" Setting?? I DOUBT it as it would Still be fairly LOUD in that car!!! Kids can complain enough on long trips, think about the complaining you will put up with, NOT Just from Them but EVERY ONE ELSE in the car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did ANYONE say they would NOT Buy the kit due to the Box Art Misrepresentation??????? I Didn't, and did not see any one else say that. I did see 1 or 2 Repeat MY Question as to the Box art design!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did You READ???? (I think Yes, but Did NOT Understand WHY we asked the question) Am I WHINING If Asking the Question I am is in YOUR eyes whining then YES I MUST be. To YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And, How Many people NOT members here will DUMP this kit, Or MOEBIUS kits in General if this is their First Purchase Because They Can't Build the Stock Sedan on the Box!!!????!??!?!?!?!? If I don;t get this kit it will be Due to COST factor NOT the Mistake in Box Art!! I said I would LOVE to convert one to 4dr and as an LAPD Cruiser!!!!!!!!!!!! And some one said LA County Sherriff had them too!!!!! Do I Hope they see fit to actually Offer the kit as shown on THIS box art, YES I DO!!!!!!!!!! Heck, I would LOVE to see Convertible and WAGON bodied kits from this series!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Next time BEFORE you call some one a Whiner, actually Take the time to READ what they say FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Curious that the Box Art is for a Family Sedan, while the kit is FAR from that They should Change that to better reflect the LACK of Stock Family Sedan build Option!!!!! I Hope for a Stock version to follow, as Tires, etc are Garbage to me!!!!! And Yes, I would Like to convert to 4dr, and LAPD!! A few 65 Belvedere Black & Whites are seen in early seasons of Adam-12 And I believe are Correct for LAPD!!
-
I wonder if the 3 1/60 scale items are Lindberg's Caterpiler kits The Pic of the Scraper looks like one I have!! The other 2 are a Large Dump Truck & Wheel Loader And Yes, I have the 3 Would Love for them to be re-issued, But by Heller?? Why not Lindberg? Did Heler end up with the tooling??

Lost this reply with a Disconnect during Post!! It Is amazing how well the 3 59 Ford kits/promo's share parts Especially as Revell's kit had a Multi-piece body!! And Yes, I used Rev parts on Both AMT & PMC restoration projects with NO modification needed!! (Except to Inset the tail lights in PMC bodies--they were surface mounted instead) Also, did anyone notice how Revell Of Germany Corrected the Skyliner kit to read "Fairlane 500" when they re-issued it in their 50th Anniversary series, while Rev-US reverted to calling it Galaxie on their SSP re-issue a couple years later?? An error started with the Skip's Fiesta series issue Did they Not do the research?? or even Look at the Marque on the rear fenders??
-
The Closest Full Size GN Wagon Kit offered was the ONE Time offered Jr Trophy Series 60 Chevy!!! GOOD Luck on that one!!!!! Next, And Easiest to find Cheap would Be Jada's 64 (maybe a 63 also) DIECAST. A HARD job of Bashing that mix!!!!!!!! Best bet is likely the AMT 65 or Revell 66 Malibu kit. And Yes you will have to Widen either since the Malibu was a Mid-Size while the Venture & Catalina were Fullsize, though shorter than the Bonneville & Starchief

True They are INVISIBLE!!!!

Interesting to get a Police version out of the Stock 48 Coupe Since I have been Working on a Police version out of an IMC?Testor's kit I had Built many years ago and started a resto on!! Siren is Very close to the one I scratch built too!!!!! Curious as to what agency decals might be included. I am looking for San Diego for the one I am building out of the IMC/Testor's kit!! Will they include a third roof light for the rear?? Will lenses be clear or red??

The least kitted brand....
Edsel-Dan replied to khier's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The Closest to a Front Drive Riv I know of is the Old Crud TKM Resin 83!! And YES I still Want one it was the Indy Pace car!!!!!! As for a Tatra car, I know of a few 1/25 kits Not sure on price as at least one is out of Production Maly Modelarz did one, and a few other PAPER Kit producers did TATRA cars!! Not sure on a 76 Buick either Monogram did the 80's Grand National & GNX I have both And AMT issued the Special Wagon Twice. 61 & 62. Again, I have both ONLY difference is the grill!!!!!! -
1/25 Revell '72 Hurst/Olds Cutlass Kit
Edsel-Dan replied to W-Machine's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I want to say the 69 Camaro Pace car has the Flag Poles you want. I have 1 but would like a few more as Non-Pace Car issues don't have those parts At least I don't remember seeing them in the one Non-Pace Car kit I have -
Barnes & Noble and MCM
Edsel-Dan replied to Gregg's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I Hope I can check a regional one down here However, it is 30 miles north, and right now my car does NOT like to go 10 miles!!!! And I Hate to drive at Speed. The Left front brake rotor broke recently, so I only have 3 wheel brakes!!!! And a radiator system leak somewhere. Got to save to get it worked on, but Winter will cost More in Electricity!!!!! Last time it was announced B&N was carrying MCM, I checked, That store got 1 or 2 issued and Dropped it!!! I hope to subscribe anyway and SOON!!! -
I still have some of those Oldies I buolt Back then, But Two I Wish I did still have MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE Coronet Convert!!! & Vampire Machine 70 Impala Convert!! Have the grill from the Impala, NOTHING from the M:I Coronet! I think I have a 67/68 Chrysler 300 and a similar issue Cadillac Convert, as I have some of the Hubcaps from them that were in the old Toy box from my old bedroom I am not sure where many of the models went when we moved in 71. Would love to find the Complete builts of my Wacky Racer's kits. I have most of Penelope Pitstop's Compact Pussycat, but Not Dick Dasterdly's Mean Machine! Also had 4 of the AMT All Star 1/32's, but Not sure of some Have the glue-Bomb's of the 63 Vette & Avanti I did back then, but,..... Wish I could remember the other 2 Was a Cereal Mail in offer!! Another was a Fireboat from Tony The Tiger (I THINK that is where I ordered it from!!) I do have the upper deck piece, but Nothing else So how did I save the Turista Turismo, El Ranchero Grande & Boondock Bomber builds???? I have seen many here call these Craftsman kits, But the Turista was the complete kit With Engine!!! Maybe Some of the Customizing parts were deleted, but, it was NOT a Curbside/craftsman type kit!!! Always thought the Dual-Quad aircleaner was 2 piece, but instructions I have seen from Original Annual sow it as One piece!! I believe we got the Boondock Bomber just after seeing the Pilot episode of ADAM-12 Big scene in that was the Pursuit if a 59 Buick!! We also got the red, & Police versions of Husky's Matchbox size 59 Buick too!!!!
-
F60 Fronts!?? WHY So SMALL??? I built that kit back then and Fronts were G70"s!! Will Have to change that on any I get!!!!!! Same with the last issue of the Daytona, AND Rev's 68/69 Chargers F series tires look SMALL in the wheel wells!!! They Have ,or at least Had, the G70's as late as the early 2000's The 72 Chevy Cheyenne came with them!!!!! I do still want at least 1 But Will trade out the front tires!!!!!

I buy Nail Polish Myself Whether my Sister is with me or not If I see a Color I like I get at least 2 bottles But, I stay with those $2.oo each or Less!! I Just Can't see paying $4-10.oo for Less that a Half Once of color!!!!!! And Yes, I use emery boards Not just on parts, but on broken finger nails too!!!!! I Have told people asking that they are Car Paint for Models, and they accept that -
1/32 Mack Super-Liner conversion
Edsel-Dan replied to Bennyg's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I Like the Idea, but would be hard pressed to join in. You are correct in that the Monogram/Revell R does have the Sleeper cast as part of the cab I had to fill in the rear of the cab when I bashed one with the Pumper kit from them I removed the sleeper to use on another project. -
I thought that option was still in the Blue ertl issue I converted to a Convertible Way Back when. I Do remember it I had a Early issue that still had the Styline style parts, Display spotlights, etc .That one definitely had the wire axle for the front if you did not want to make the working steering I have a few of those Rubber Firestone Darlington Gum Dipped tires I am using 6 on the 65 Chevy Stepside kit I am using the Model King Mini Motor Home body on. I only had 1 show cracking. a couple were sanded to Bald/Slick status, and NOT usable for the pickup!! I got the first of those on a Built Original issue of the second tool 58 Impala. I think the Original issue of their 53 F-100 had them too Not sure what other kits of that time had them
