  1. I would suggest first carefully disassembling them (try wetting them thoroughly and then putting them in the freezer... that should hopefully loosen the glue joints), then giving them a good long soak in your paint stripper of choice (Like Purple Power or Scalecoat). Then scrub them well in warm water with dish soap and an old toothbrush. That should remove the paint, dirt and grime. Then you can start the restoration work. Good luck.
  2. The ultimate decision is yours alone to make Ray. We all go through periods of time where we either lose interest in building, or, second guess ourselves as far as how we should spend our "free time". Do whatever it is that makes you happy. If coming back to the hobby is in the cards for you, we look forward to having you back. Please stay well, whatever decision you make.
  3. Thank you Marty. I'm glad that I was able to help you.
  4. Thanks very much Don & Carl.
  5. Awwww man............ While I never got to meet Harry or to shake his hand, we did have some kind words back and forth through this Forum. His modeling work was truly inspirational. May he forever continue working in the BIG MODEL ROOM. R.I.P. my friend.
  6. Thank you very much Frank & Michael.
  7. Thanks Jeff. No, no new stuff... I've got more than enough in the TO DO stash to last me another couple of decades the way I've been building lately...... or not building, to be more accurate. I hope all is well with you.
  8. Thank you very much Jim & Wayne. I'm hoping I'll have quite a few more.
  9. Thanks guys, I appreciate it.

    Nice job Donald.
  11. My wife took me out for a wonderful Birthday dinner (my birthday is tomorrow... #70) tonight at a place called Ditka's in Wexford, PA. I had a medium Filet Mignon with Bernaise Sauce, sauteed Mushrooms and a twice baked loaded baked potato. A couple of "dirty Martinis with bleu cheese stuffed olives, a glass of Merlot with the Filet, and a piece of chocolate cake "on the house" for the birthday boy....... Man am I stuffed...!!! Yummmm...
  12. Yep... What Tom said...... Those should be exactly what you're looking for...... and they are great.
  13. Very nice Nomad Lee.
  14. That's a great looking wagon Lee.
  15. Steven, I wish you and your wife the very best of everything with your move. I'm sure that once you get settled in to a new home, you'll find that being home really won't be all that boring. I've been retired for about 5 years now and it's amazing how fast the time goes by during the day. My wife still works, and I am kept very busy with laundry, kitchen and floor cleanup, trash duty, dusting and occasional cooking. I even find time to work on models once in a while...

  18. X2 I guess at this point, that is all we can do.
  19. Lately I've been having troubles getting the paint jobs I want on some resin cars, mostly due to my own stupid mistakes. This question has probably been asked and answered before, but after searching the paint stripper threads I didn't find a good answer. I've had a resin body from Jimmy Flintstone sitting in a tub of Purple Power for about 3 days and very little of the paint has come off. I used Duplicolor paint and primer/sealer. I don't want to use Scalecoat because it melted a resin Modelhaus body on me some time ago. I need something that is reasonably fast and very safe for resin. I also have bodies from M.A.D. and Modelhaus that need do-overs. Thanks for your help guys.
  20. Congratulations Jim, like some of us, you must spend a lot of time here. It's a great place to be.
  21. I have all of mine and only a very few have had any tears.
  22. Great job JJ. I love the color combo.
  23. There used to be 3,4,5, or more pages of various topic threads every day. Lately there are maybe 3 pages, if that many. I'm just wondering who, or which Moderator is doing the "daily cleanup" on the Forum. I understand that pages have to be deleted at some point, but it just seems that someone is being "overly efficient" at it.
  24. Welcome to our plastic playground Richard.
  25. That's a great looking Chevy Martin.
