A note about Tex Johnston's roll... The airlines were pretty sure that jets flying in the stratosphere were the future, but they were nervous. Watching the 376–80 do a barrel roll convinced many of them that it was a well built plane. But here’s the truth, a barrel roll is not the same as an aileron roll. Rather than the plane rolling through its own axis, its path is more like a corkscrew. This means that basically the aircraft doesn’t experience much more than a -G force along its vertical axis. In other words, it’s not much more stressful than normal flight.

Ford E Series Club Wagon
Repstock replied to cargostar's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Not all my images would upload, but you get the idea. Pretty much the same as yours. I'll bet yours get one of these built before I do, it's way back on the list of things to do. Thank you for the kind words! -
Ford E Series Club Wagon
Repstock replied to cargostar's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
On the passenger side, you'll have to move the rear light up into the dip in the side. Also, the handle on the side cargo doors should be at the same height as the front door handle. I've done this conversion, but put ribbing inside, so I have no choice but to make a cargo van. Really cool that this will be offered for sale.. -

7 Muscle Cars I Hope Will Be Kitted Soon
Repstock replied to 69NovaYenko's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
While I like the Scenicruiser, you would have to make it Greyhound. The GMC could be any of thousands of schemes, which is why I would prefer the GMC release to the Scenicruiser. Like you said, the likelihood of getting either one is nil. -
7 Muscle Cars I Hope Will Be Kitted Soon
Repstock replied to 69NovaYenko's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Not a muscle car, but I've always hoped to see a 1/25 scale GMC fishbowl bus. A more iconic vehicle you will never find, and the livery possibilities are endless. I will add a "me too" to the colonnade cars...I'd love to build them. -

Never mind, someone already pointed this out. -
73 Cutlass Supreme conversion

Now that I think about ti, didn't the formal roof Cutlass Supreme have a completely different grille and front end treatment than the Colonnade style JoHan kit? -

73 Cutlass Supreme conversion
Repstock replied to fordf-100's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I guess what I mean is they are different sizes. The Monte Carlo has a 116" wheelbase and is 213" long, the Cutlass (2 door) has a 112" wheelbase and is 207" long. I don't think that top is a direct swap. If you line it up with the windshield, it will probably extend too far onto the trunk area. Having said that, I will admit I've never tried it! -
73 Cutlass Supreme conversion

My problem is the Monte Carlo is scaled so much larger than the Cutlass. It'll take an artist to get that top to look right on the (in 1/25 scale) much smaller Cutlass. -

A friend of mine has made a 4 door '66 Bonneville using the 1/24 '64 GTO top. Ended up looking real nice.

Motor City Resins 1973-4 LWB Ford Econoline
Repstock replied to Eshaver's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
FINALLY somebody built one! Thanks for the kind words, I was always frustrated that those nice 1/20 Econolines were not 1/25. Nice Econoline but that building is off the hook! -

Cancel that. I see these are 1/24. -

Not to be too picky, but MPC put the door handles in the wrong place. Too high on the door. Not a deal breaker, though. -
I've done this conversion with an original '64 LeMans and a '65 Chevy wagon. Please note that the rear quarter tops slope down on the GTO. On the wagon they don't. I added a pie section to the middle of the rear quarter panel to raise the rear top portion up. Looking forward to following this one!

Couldn't say it any better. I've been saving pennies for some time now. This will be my 2nd NNL East.

This is the Missing Link cab built up. I mastered this one, and it has a few minor issues. The door handles on the real truck are old pull styles, not the flush pickup type like on this model. The dash is also from the previous generation on this size of truck (source it from Moebius Ford pickups). The dash for the AMT pickup is right for the pickup, but not this truck. I don't know when Kevin will start casting these again, I'm not aware of any damage to the master.

1976/77 Ford Pickup Parts

He wasn't at the Detroit show where I normally see him either. I'm not aware of any problems, but I believe he is moving his operation to another site. I'm not 100% sure about this, though. -

Morgan Automotive detail has the bed. It's not on their site, but E-mail them...it exists, I have four of them.
