  1. hah, I have driven past this place soooo many times and no idea of its history. My daughter lives only a few miles from there.
  2. Good looking results from a cool little truck+
  3. Really enjoy watching these kind of projects come together, as they almost feel like a real 1:1 project. What is the source of that firewall?
  4. Nice choices, how will you work to keep the fenders symmetrical?
  5. Really nice, appealing touches
  6. really good looking Hot rod
  7. Fantastic paint work, a classic looking hot rod
  8. Cutting my commute time down from 50 minutes each way, to that walk to/from the office space, has really opened up some bench time for me. This month is the most I have had in a long time. I also get more time with the family in the evening. Having said that, I feel for the people that are impacted, both directly and indirectly. Lots of lost jobs, damaged retirement accounts etc. We have folks at work that already know this will now delay their retirement. While I am fortunate enough to still be working, working from home is just not the same, without the team, the tools etc. Ultimately, I am thankful tho, and remind myself as much on a regular basis. I hope that many others here on the board are also not overly impacted.
  9. The last paint I shot over it was Scalefinishes, and I had no issues. Regardless, it is never a bad idea to always spray a spare part of the same plastic you are painting, this will then give you something to "test" before you shoot your project. So, if the kit has two hood for example, you could prime it all, then take the spare hood and test the paint on that for compatibility.

  11. LOL, indeed..! Thanks everyone. I sincerely appreciate the kind words.
  12. Maybe under-the-bed storage bins?, like Rubbermaid or similar? Anything to help protect all the effort and hard work.
  13. I picked up a few colors a couple years ago, as I heard that made great barriers, but I have ony had a few chances to use them, but each time it worked out fine. David, it sounds like you are as picky with your airbrush cleaning as me. Have you tried these to get down in the barrel?
  14. While there is no current project I have that are in need of these, I am so tempted to pick up a set "just in case", as they look fantastic. I would like to see the back of the wheel to see mounting options. Would you mind posting a picture of the back of the wheel?
  15. I am the same here, but not just limited to TV. If, for example, the folks that litter my front door with handbill advertising are disrespectful, like throwing their adds on the ground by my door, or leaving unwanted circulars on my drive, I would never do business with them. There is a great John Prine song called "Stop Hollering at Me" talking about how inundated we are with advertising.
  16. Wow, you have been busy. Looking good. How do you store them to reduce dust?
  17. Nice selection for sure, not sure how I missed it. Some of these look like they were taken late afternoon outside, was that natural lightning?
  18. Yessir, count me a fan! Cool looking rod for sure.
  19. Thanks everyone. I appreciate the kind words. I have a soft spot in my heart for "Drive-able" show rods, and try to build one a year or so.
  20. This is a VERY fiddly kit, with rough chrome including some warping, and not all of it turned out like I planned, but overall I am happy with it and I'm going to call this one done! For those interested in the build process, here is a link to the Fotki page. I ended up stripping nearly all chrome trim to clean the seams, the vast majoiry was re-shot with Spaztix chrome (except rims and a few small bits), lots of nut/bolt head detail added, new driveshaft from aluminum, alternator relocated to correct location with bracket added, carpet, fuel line and plug wires ran, exhaust tips drilled out, scratch built coil/over shocks, radiator grill replaced with fine mesh and the radiator rebuilt from photo etch, little filaments added to headlights etc. The kit does contain some really nice parts that would lend themselves well to additional kit bashing, like fantastic rims, Z'd frame etc.
