Very cool Monza!

Arrived in Phoenix in the last couple days. It was on the counter when I returned from a business trip.

Tom, actually found that out just a few hours later. I received correspondence today from Chuck Darnell confirming that he has Snowlball. While the original Intent was for Snowball to be donated to the GSL Museum , it's my understanding that due to it's fragile state after many journeys while not being properly cared for, Dave Mikrut decided it best that it stay with Chuck, as he had the made many repairs and fixed the issues that occurred during transport. Dave and Chuck were close, so it is in a good place for sure. I know that several of the participants still build, bit I am not aware of the status of all of them. I just got this picture today from Chuck himself. SB in upper left corner.

OK FOlks, I have a project in the works, and was wondering if anyone knew which Testors, or model supplier paint most closely resembles Coca cola red. I have looked around the forum here, and online, but I cannot seem to find a match. Any input is appreciated.

Yikes, may have been more financially feasible to re-purpose already made clip stands, like those for name placards at weddings etc. Seems crazy the cost to cut something like that. I would think 3d imaging would make creating a master much easier these days, but that is indeed just speculation.

I agree that Tamiya is great! Not only does it have the extolled properties listed above, but it also lays down VERY smooth and thin and does not cover up a lot of detail. One of the few paints that I do not mind shooting straight from the can. I also use the Hobby Lobby coupon. Having said that, I tend not to use it as filler/sanding primer, but rather my finish primer. For filler primer, I use Testors Lacquer sanding. i try to avoid most automotive or household primers, because I never know how they will react with plastic or body work that have done. I will also use sealers when appropriate to avoid bleed-through or ghosting.

I still have my large LP collect and CD collection, but I only buy new items for a couple of artists. I DO buy music, just in the form of a paid Spotify subscription. This way artists do get paid, albeit it nominally.

Thanks a lot for sharing. I would have loved to have made this. Between then, and the GSL ending, I am hoping there are a few other major events that step up to fill this upcoming void.

Clear coating over foil can certainly help seal it and hold it down over the years, having said that, you need to make sure that the chrome, like paint, is smooth and ready for paint.
