Looking forward to any pictures for those of us that couldn't attend.

The interior part you found in the Bonniville kit resembles an interior treatment that was popular in the late '50's and early '60's. Owners would have an upholstery shop make a snap-in cover over the area behind the front seat to the rear window. Most would have a metal rod that went from side to side behind the front seat that supported the front edge of the cover and snaps like you would find on a convertible top cover along the sides and the bottom of the rear window or just behind the rear seat back depending on the design. The design on this part would have been a common design, but there were those who always had to have something a little different and your imagination and budget was your only limitation.

What would you get if...

A modern day For Two if you remember those. -
Beautiful looking body work and the paint finish and color really compliment the body lines. Realistic looking drivable custom. Like the way you did the interior to match.

Vast improvement from what AMT offered at the time. Like the engine details as well.

The term used to describe a product can vary from one part of the country as well as the world. The "Varnish" description, as a resident of the US usually refers to a product used in finishing wood working, boats or furniture as an example. Not absolutely but most often. The term "clear" usually would be a description of paint product that could be sprayed or brush painted, and in our application say a plastic model. I have seen builders here that are from other countries that use the varnish term in the context that I would use to describe the use of say a clear paint spray on covering. Maybe verify that the product you are using would be compatible with the paint on your model before any application.

Great looking chrome trim. -
Beautiful looking paint and engine detailing. A friend of mine had a 1950 Pontiac Sedan Delivery, an uncommon vehicle even here, that he fixed up, this was many years ago, and he had a sign painter paint some signage like a business delivery vehicle.

That old black plastic from that era will polish up nice, if that's what you're after.

The weather talking head on TV last night said that we would have overcast skies but no rain. So, we get caught in a downpour just long enough to mess up my freshly cleaned car today. Only rained for maybe an hour, but with a little road dust and tire splash from all the other cars as well, you understand my frustration.

Saw this pop up today, have you done anything with your patio or still trying to figure out what you want to do? Something I have seen advertised around here is a true epoxy coating like you would normally find in say a garage, but a local company is also adverting doing this on sidewalks and patios. Had this done in our garage a few years ago and if done right it is very durable and even my floor jacks don't seem to leave any marks. The colors are endless and many finish options available.

Today's virtually impossible question

Another paint option to consider would be GM's Dark Cherry Pearl. This color was originally for the 1996 Impala SS but may have found its way to other models as well. The old Model Master #28113 may be a match for what you're looking for. -
So...you think using an airbrush is tricky?

I have gotten to see some other Glass Blowers in action before. This guy is really good, and he makes it look easy. -
