Beautiful paint and interior finishes. That shade of green was very popular on the Mustang at the time.

Stranger things Blazer

Beautiful paint finish and color. The clean looking interior and color is a good contrast with the body color. -
Great looking paint color and finish. Like the cleanly detailed body and trim.

Beautiful looking paint colors and finish complement the body kit. Like the wheel treatment. -

The story on the white steering wheels that I was told had to do with the early Chrysler and Dodge units without air conditioning. The white steering wheels would attract less heat from the sunlight especially on the desert units. Ever try driving a car without air in 100+ degree weather? You would be amazed how hot a steering wheel can get with the glare of the sun thru the windshield. -
Must be a little slow for male Racoons in the wild then.

You do not want to mess with a Racoon. That cat is in grave danger and doesn't know it, yet.

Like the realistic looking finishes. Brave man carrying a freshly caught Shark over his shoulder. I have seen a few Sharks laying on the dock that have been out of the water for some time, they're still trying to bite something or someone.

1953 Ford F100 done my way

Great build style and cleanly trimmed. The engine and chassis are nicely detailed. Remember when it was common to have the exhaust stacks on pickups. You had to be real carful reaching for anything in the bed and not burn your arm. -
Sedan Deliveries that I have built

Like them all. Big fan of sedan deliveries and would love to own one, maybe someday. -
Beautiful smooth paint finish and color. Like the wide body kit panels.

Glad some fellow modelers could save these from the landfill. Shame that the materials used at the time are not as durable as what we enjoy today.

Great looking diorama.

Beautiful paint finish and color. Great job recreating the body of the 1:1 RX7.

The paint color compliments the Buick's body lines. Like the wheel and tire combination.

Having lived for many years in California and having seen a few CHP cars up close and personal I don't recall any other interior color than the basic brown and beige shades, but that doesn't mean there weren't any other colors. I worked at a few Chevrolet dealerships that were involved in suppling vehicles for the state of California and a couple of different departments at different times. They could come up with some pretty strange requests for colors and equipment and even a few that defied logic. But it was our tax money at work and what they wanted is what they got. -

When a fleet order for a few hundred cars comes in I think you could get almost any color you wanted for the interior. -
Like the concept of your build. Your question about the different colors on the body of the 1:1 '40 sedan maybe explained that it can be common to get parts from several different vehicles to replace the ones on your 1:1 build. Sometimes they aren't all that better than what you already have but not have as much rust. A final paint primer maybe used after all the body panels are straight enough to paint.

What did you see on the road today?
espo replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Had a '72 Monte Carlo that same color many many years ago. Made driving long distances on an open road a pleasure. -
The type found in the ladies' supply section of most stores can be varied from very fine to rip your finger nail off. Choose wisely or just go to a model supply vender.

I agree with Steven on the wooden model cars. The first one I did was around 1952 of a '32 Ford roadster and was little more than a block of wood with two pieces of thin, soft wood that you would glue to the sides and sand to shape. The two axels would be nailed to the bottom of the wooden block and again some nails to attach the hard rubber tires to the axels. the first plastic models that I can remember were bought in 1954 at a local toy store and were basically copies of dealer promos.

What is your NUMBER 1 favorite movie car
espo replied to Thedragsterdude's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Many great looking cars from the movie's era. The '32 looked great for its part in the movie, the only thing was the chopped radiator shell looked a little off on a highboy style coupe.- 174 replies

So-So movie but some great car chase bits. Still hated it when they painted it flat black after they were caught stealing in the drug store.- 174 replies
