  1. Not to beat a dead horse but has anyone else looked at the last issue of Motor Trend Magazine? The magazine has been extoling the virtues as well as covering the whole EV thing for some time. I realize that their main theme to inform readers of what is happening in the auto industry, and they seem to cover it well. In the latest issue they run a new Ford EV truck until the batteries are dead. They cover some of the problems that they encountered along with some of the damage they did to the truck in in doing so. They have started talking about the problems in finding places other than home to recharge these vehicles near their offices in California which is starting to mandate that no gas-powered vehicles will be sold there in the near future. My thought is that owners of these EV's will start to have to do what gas powered owners would do in the past carrying a 5 gallon can of gas as a backup in case they run out of gas. Now EV owners will have to carry a couple of extra batteries around for when they can't find a place to plug in their vehicles.
  2. Great looking little Duster. Good body color and nice paint finish. I learned a long time ago these things don't bounce worth a tinkers you know what.
  3. The new background makes the model look like a real car in a high-end photo shoot. Great looking paint finish and good-looking body trim. Like the blue interior color. The coke bottle style American Racing Wheels look good under this.
  4. I knew that Checker built their own cabs, but the only ones I recall were post WWII versions. The post from Rob Hall explains everything about that car. The red and yellow extended wheelbase cars could be either a De Soto or even Dodge as both offered a similar model and were separated by a grill and trim differences. While not a cab, a neighbor of my Grand Parents had a Chrysler with the extended wheelbase in this body style as well as an early '50's Chrysler long wheelbase in their garage. This I recall from visits to their home outside of Chicago around 1955.
  5. Thankyou for the Charger information. This reflects what the dealer told me as well. I did build a model of our 2010 Charger RT with the AWD option from the Lindberg kit. The AWD system is hidden by the body panels under the car. What Charger did, and maybe the Challenger as well, was to install a hard plastic type of belly pan that covered most of the front suspension and extended from side to side all the way back to the transmission. To my eye this is done for aerodynamics as much as any other reason and the 2022 Charger we have has the same setup. The present Round 2 Charger has two sets of wheels, one stock alloy and one sort of custom. I have seen a few local PD type Chargers and even some KHP cars with the OEM style alloys painted black. I'm sure there are some options that they have to choose from.
  6. Great looking body colors and decal trim. Like the Dune Buggy chassis underneath.
  7. Great looking color combination and paint finish. The interior colors and finish look good. Like the detailing on the engine.
  8. Beautiful looking paint finish and color. The convertible top finish looks great as well. Like the detailing on the interior and engine.
  9. I was all the way to the picture where you're holding the engine before I realized I was looking at your model and not a real car. I also have always been a fan of the understated look on high performance vehicles, and this has really captured that look. The level of detail on this build is about as realistic as it gets.
  10. Thanks for the heads up on the C-10. I may have been working off of the picture that "leafsprings" posted, relooking at that picture it seems more like something from an old Chevrolet catalog.
  11. Hi James, I'm interested in your information about the CHP Chargers. I was wondering if they are using the V-6 engine or the 5.7 Hemi? I owned a 2010 Charger RT with the all-wheel drive system. Great car and drove it to just short of the 100k mark. I wanted to replace it with a new '22 Charger but was told that the AWD could only be had with the V-6 engine. I know that at times Law Enforcement can get combinations that civilians can't.
  12. Beautiful looking paint finishes, and like the paint treatment on the roof. I agree with you on the "new and improved" foil and with all the trim on this model it does make a difference.
  13. Looking at what they are going for at Mecum Auctions I would think you could sell either or both if you wanted when the 2024 arrives, even make money on them as well.
  14. The box art shown for the C-10 looks like a long bed. I hope they will be offering a short bed version soon.
  15. Got to have the Dodge pickup.
  16. Having noticed the pilot holes on the underside of the '21 Charger you can see the provisions for the police equipment to be mounted. Since these are so popular in my local jurisdiction, I'll have to do at least one in this style.
  17. What was that? OO, just my Master Card starting to melt.
  18. The new body color looks very modern and currently something you would see on many new cars. The color really makes the black trim on the engine standout.
  19. When you described the paint color, I was thinking it wouldn't look good, then I saw the picture and completely changed my mind, not that it matters, but it looks great.
  20. Looks like the windshield isn't seating in all the way. Is the windshield attached to the rear window in the headliner area? If so, you might separate them and see if the windshield will go up into the roof batter. I have used the same type of clamps you are using on the glass on some of my builds. What I have experienced is that depending on how full cured the paint is it can leave an impression in the paint.
  21. Great looking paint and interior trim. This looks like the Pro Shop AMT kit.
  22. Like the engine color idea, sort of a Hell Cat maybe?
  23. Look forward to hearing about Dt. McNally's adventures and of course your build on this Charger. I started one and managed to jack up the paint so it's back in the box for now.
  24. I think JoHan offered a similar model years ago. AMT had a SCCA style race car model that I think could also be built as a showroom model. I would also be a player for one as well.
  25. I have seen a few builders use oblong cardboard boxes like you would find at a Costco or supermarket, maybe even a Hobby Lobby when they recieve inventory.
