    1952 Hudson

Beautiful looking Hudson. Great color and paint finish and the interior looks like a perfect match.

    1960s Iron

Great looking colors and cleanly trimmed and detailed looking builds. The Mercury color looks almost the same as a popular Fomoco color of that era. The '61 Pontiac be it a 1:1 or this kit is a favorite and the color looks great as well. I like the Chrysler in youir display cabinet.
  4. Great looking build, you may end up getting g moved to the NASCAR part of the Forum just because of the build style. The paint finish looks great and smooth. Reminds me of some of the grass roots race cars with little or no sponsors so the bodies stayed pretty clean.
  5. I like the "Old Wood" finish on the bed floor.
  6. I like the suspension work.
  7. When I was far too young to drive a family friend had a La Salle sedan that was just like new and rode like it as well.
  8. I was at a Jeep Jamboree in Tenn. a few years ago and a guy had a 5.3 truck motor he put in his TJ. Looked factory with nothing shinny on it. He had driven it down from somewhere in Missouri.
  9. I like the Van. Does this kit also have a stock grill?
  10. Ya the CHP used to have Gestapo type roadside checks. They would stop almost every car until the Q got too full or they saw something like this Mustang. They would check for any smog violations, I got a ticket for the top of my air cleaner being upside down, Headlight adjustment was another big deal with them. They didn't appreciate the aircraft landing lights I had for high beams in my '67 El Camino. Got to the point that if you were driving down the road and saw a line forming or could see that it was the CHP up ahead you would turn off and use side streets to get around them. This went on up thru the '70's, then they sort of faded away in Central Cal.
  11. Beautiful looking paint finish and the engine detailing is very realistic looking. Like the wheels and tires. Great idea for showing off all your MoPar builds.
  12. All of your efforts on the paint really paid off with the final finish. Great looking engine and chassis.
  13. Thank you, guys for the kind words. I'm actually disappointed in the two-tone paint job. After posting the pictures and seeing them blown up I almost wanted to have the mods take them down. While no one has mentioned it, if you look at the break between the colors, they're anything but straight. I used fine line tape and everything looked great after unwrapping the body and clear coating it. Everything still looked great to me until I saw the pictures up on the screen and I thought, "What Tha". I had an annual appointment with my eye doctor the next day to check my prescription and we had been talking about maybe needing Cataract surgery at some future date. I'm going to a consult with the surgeon at the end of the month. The prognoses is all good and my wife even had a similar operation last year so there really is no concern about the outcome. But looking at those lines between the two colors almost made me want to put this in the pond.
  14. Beautiful looking paint finish and the interior looks really well done. Great stance and engine detailing.
  15. Great looking frame and interior fabrication.
  16. I have been reading a couple of magazines that have had extensive coverage of EV's and some of the infostructure. The magazines are Motor Trend, Car & Driver, and Road & Track. They are all automotive centric and they do have several writers/editors that seem well schooled on the subject of EV's and the subject of the batteries and motors. I find reading about the manufacturing as well as the disposing of the batteries informative. I have no way of knowing if they really know everything, but I think they do offer some informative information. Since this seems to be the way things are going, I think it best to have as much background information as posable.
  17. I remember a couple of companies that did van conversions for dealers that were looking for another way to sell their van in their inventory. This was a time of tight economy and these companies had vans sitting in their "pool" that weren't selling. They would offer conversions like this to dealers to sell to commercial accounts. One drawback that they encountered was the vans unibody construction and the fact that most were either 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton units limited the weight that the wrecker boom could handle without major reinforcement of the van. Cost got so close to just starting with a 1 ton cab/chassis I think that is why so few ever made it.
  18. Interested in unusual Dodge Vans? I was watching Mecum Auction on TV yesterday and they did a little feature on a Dodge van that will be in the auction. The exterior is a very clean sort of low-key solid color with very little accent paint work. The interior on the other hand is something straight out of the '70's SoCal wild fur baby type. Look online at the Mecum site and go thru the pictures of the units they are auctioning today as that was when they indicated that the van would be on the auction block.
  19. The general discussion seems to center around the proportions of a 1:1 '33/'34 Ford. Sometimes the eye can be fooled by the angle of a picture. I don't know if this would be of any help, but Mecum Auction from Huston is on TV right now as well as online. The Thursday and Friday auction starts the day with several '33 and '34 Fords in several body styles. These are all with little or no restoration done too them. They can be viewed online and have a brief description with each. I suggest checking the online site and viewing some of these cars as well as others, this may give someone a better understanding of the original proportions of the different body styles rather than what we have come to accept or question in our scale model kits.
  20. She was an amazing person and hard to believe anyone could keep her pace right to the end. I was reading an article about her life and coming to power online this afternoon.
  21. I can't remember the author and there was a movie made called The Road. Sort of a post-apocalyptic setting. The acting is actually well done as is the store.
  22. I like the engine you went with. Nice to see something a little different. The stance and the wheels and tires look good on this.
  23. This would be great for a Tailgating Party at Arrowhead Stadium, or a Good Guys Show. Very realistic looking grill.
  24. Great looking color and the interior looks good as well. Very cleanly detailed.
  25. Beautiful looking paint color and finish. I like the stance and the wheel and tire combination.
