  1. Great cleanly built and like the OEM look.
  2. This should be nice. I have seen a few of your past MoPars.
  3. The foil lifted the paint on the body?
  4. Great looking show. I'm sure that the average family income may be more than a little higher in that area based on the relationship to auto manufactures in the area. The owners of the new or late model American cars may have the benefit of employee pricing on new vehicles at below dealer cost plus any and all incentives. The red M5 in the pictures has always been on my wish list. Maybe if I win the lottery.
  5. Thank you for the pictures Tim. I always admired what AMC was able to produce with the limited recourses that they had to work with. These were really underappreciated cars in their day and now.
  6. The truck must have been from the coastal area. That era of Toyotas didn't do anything to prevent rust in their vehicles.
  7. Great looking Impala. I like the stance and the wheels and tires.
  8. As Bill has pointed out, many don't fully grasp how good we have it. I have been watching a program on NPR TV called "Who do you think you are". They take someone, usually and actor, and explore their family tree going back several generations. The striking thing to me is seeing what people went through just trying to make ends meet and all too often what they did without compared to our lives today. By in large we are a bunch of light weights that wouldn't last a day in their world.
  9. Pretty Puppy Girl.
  10. I'm not a Military Style builder either, but this looks very convincing to me and much like the few photos I have seen from WW II.
  11. I like your color choice better than the Purple that Chrysler used. I like how you changed what I think were the design short comings with the headlights and the front bumpers. The wheels treatment with the painted spokes looks good. One thing to consider. The tires have a directional tread pattern, and the fronts look as if they may be switched.
  12. Hi Todd, The kit is a reissue by Round 2 under the AMT label. I think the origins may go back to the Lindberg kit. I did much what you are suggesting on the suspension mounting. I have gotten a couple of different size Wire Nails from Home Depot. In this case I used the 3/4" x 17 size. I disassembled the wheels and glued the nail from the inside and then drilled out the mounting points on the spindles and the rear differential. I just trim the nail to the length needed. They're stronger than really needed but they're kind of cheap like me. As for the decals I think they are of good quality. Seemed like I had to let them sook longer than I'm used to, but they laid down nicely with no problems. The "Lawman" decal is large, and I used the pictures online and the box art for a guide for placement. None of the decals required any trimming around the edges as they came off of the carrier with the minimal of an edge around the printing.
  13. I'll enjoy watching this.
  14. I like how you used so many parts from so many different kits. Glad you explained as otherwise viewers may not realize what all went into the engine.
  15. Most, not all, Corvairs had a very easy fix for the rear oil stains. The Oil Pressure sending unit was mounted at the Oil Filter engine mounting. They were prone to leakage and about five minutes to change out. Ill handling had two main problems. The first was the need of a Camber Limiter for the rear suspension so that the rear tires didn't tuck under in hard cornering. Simple after-market add on sold at almost every auto parts store and even Chevrolet offered a parts counter unit. The second problem often was caused by improper tire inflation. Ask any VW owner about that issue as they shared many of the same problems based on suspension designs.
  16. Great looking color and the paint finish looks nice and smooth. Cleanly detailed engine and chassis.
  17. Beautiful looking paint finish and color. The engine detailing is very realistic.
  18. A lot of major body work and interior. The front bumper/grill resembles the Muntz roadster from the early 1950's. Integrating the later style roof onto the earlier body is really well done. I also like the Arden head engine.
  19. The paint finish looks great. Good looking grill/front bumper and the rear as well.
  20. Got the decals done and hope to have the Chrome Foil by tonight. Been having a problem with the wheel mounting bosses breaking. The kits mounting for the wheels and tires are very small plastic pins and they are not particularly strong and break with only very light pressure.
  21. For removing decals with little or no damage to the paint, try masking tape. The Scotch Blue stuff seems to work great.
  22. Beautiful looking paint finish and color combination. The colors look much like some that Ford offered at that time. The chrome body trim and the interior are all done very cleanly. I like how you did the engine compartment, and you almost don't notice the big slicks at first. Nice job on getting those doors to hang correctly.
  23. I like thew theme here. Clean but subdued looking ride with everything under the hood.

    1969 GTX

Beautiful looking paint, and the contrast with the interior looks great.
  25. Great looking paint,. Did you repaint this, it sure looks like it ? I like the plane looking wheels.
