  1. A shame the body proportions are so far off because the finish and trim detailing here looks great.
  2. I like the subtle body color. Is this going to be a wheel stander or a street sleeper?
  3. Sorry to hear about your hood breaking. This is a good kit and already has a big block. I had a '72 1:1 Monte years ago, great car even with a 350/At setup.
  4. I like the nice clean white finish. Big fam of the five spoke Americans and just about any wheel that looks really close.
  5. I rinse mine with water when thru and set them out to dry. Most of many are over ten years old.
  6. Hi Ron, Thank you for your interest in this. I didn't do enough research to know if the arm rests would be in the car but felt this might be something that they would leave out for weight. For this reason, I elected to fill the holes for the arm rests. The arm rests on both sides of the interior panel reminds me of two Lindberg kits I have from when they were first brought to market. The stock style kit and the Richard Petty NASCAR kit share the same interior side panels. The smooth side was for the race car and the side with the interior imprinted for the stock car. Great idea by the manufacture as this enabled them to use the same panels in both kits and saved them having to make two different parts. I like the color of your interior I used Tamiya AS-15 (USAF) Tan with TS Light Sand Metallic for the seat inserts and the dash panel. I'll look for your build and follow.
  7. Tamiya TS-93 called Pure Blue would be a shade lighter than the TS-15 Blue.

    59 El Camino

Pontiac offered a similar model here that was called G8 with a different grill. These are pictures of my '05 GTO when I was selling it in 2016 with only 40k miles.
  9. Did he need a fire permit? Interesting to watch, but a lot of money going up in smoke for ten minutes of entertainment.

    59 El Camino

Another beauty. The El Camino, for me anyway, is an ideal vehicle and I think that is why I'm so attracted to build models of them. At one time a few years ago the Pontiac division of GM was going to bring your UTE to the US and market it as an El Camino. I had the local Pontiac dealer lined up to call me as soon as I could order one and trade my '05 GTO, your Monaro. Then the economy went in the pull chain facility and even Pontiac went away.
  11. Another realistic looking old timer. Great looking woodwork on the body.
  12. Amazing looking engine and interior detailing. Like the color and the paint finish.
  13. Beautiful looking Camaro. The Hugger Orange color looks best on the '69-year model. I like how you detailed the grill as it adds a lot to the look of the front end.
  14. I remember this from the trio of Edsel's you posted before. Besides the beautiful paint and interior finish, the colors look period perfect.
  15. Beautiful looking finishes. Amazing how good these old kits look with some advance detailing. Did much the same thing with an old '65 El Camino build I uncovered a few years ago. Polished the Yellow plastic with similar results as the White plastic here.
  16. Beautiful paint finish and I like the blue interior.
  17. Beautiful looking color and finish. Very cleanly detailed. So used to seeing their Rally style wheels, the painted rims look more muscular.

    59 El Camino

Great looking El Camino. I like the Pro Street style and the color combination looks good. I also have had a couple of El Caminos, but mine were the second-generation models, and also see my Avatar for my '67 El Camino 350hp/396cu with 4 speed bought new.
  19. Great way to just relax and build it whatever way you like. The detail painting goes a long way to add realism to the engine and chassis.
  20. Many good suggestions and approaches to getting a smooth paint job. I might add that using sanding pads that will conform to body shapes can be a big aid as well. I try and start with the highest number pads, then go over the areas that show any orange peel or irregular surface finish with a lower number to bring that area close to the surrounding surface. Then you can go with the higher number abrasive. This will minimize the amount of sanding and the possibility of going thru the clear coat.
  21. Sorry to hear, but I do fully understand the problem and share your frustrations.
  22. Why hang baby shoes from your rear-view mirror when you can have the whole baby?
  23. Nice shade of blue and the finish looks great. Clean looking trim.
  24. Great looking paint and I like the Formula Hood. Dropping a model after all that hard work will have you using language that your mother would have washed out your mouth with soap for using. Don't ask how I know about the soap or dropping a model.
