  1. I like the realistic looking finishes. Very cleanly built.
  2. I lost a resin body doing just what you're thinking of to remove paint. The Super Clean turned it into mush. Might be the best thing is to just sand the body and re-scribe the panel lines.
  3. Glad you're doing well. According to my doctor my main problem has to do with the lining of the surfaces in my knee joints has worn thinner and allowing bone on bone contact in some positions. I have had the "Rice Krispies" sound since high school and that was some time ago. This is what made me think that might have also been your issue.
  4. I have had past knee problems as well. The Rice Krispies sound is how I would also describe what mine felt like. The surgeon had to remove a bone chip from my knee socket. Should see your doctor ASAP.
  5. Beautiful looking finishes and the attention to the fine details on the trim looks great. I like how you have the driver's window just showing.
  6. Great looking dash and interior. Bright and smooth looking paint job.
  7. Great looking paint and all the trim looks very cleanly done. I like the way you did this and the other compacts you show from that era.
  8. Great looking finishes and the wheels look good.
  9. Great looking color and smooth finish. You mention having mounting problems with the tail panel. The Firebird I'm working on also has sort of a vague mounting system as well. What I did was to add a couple of very small 90-degree plastic mounting flanges on the inside of the body. This will help hold the panel in place and minimize the amount of glue needed since the flange acts as a stop for the panel as well as a glue point.
  10. I totally agree with what you have put forward on these "restored" race cars. All too often to many liberties are taken and the finished vehicle may resemble the original, but it still isn't like the real thing. You mentioned your involvement with the SCCA at Riverside in '69 and '70. I happened to be working for Union Oil at that time out of the Colton Terminal, and one of my jobs was dispensing the racing fuel at the station in the infield. I remember a couple of guys who had true show room stock '69 Z-28's that were listening to the factory radio in their new '69 Camaros. I enjoyed spending my weekends out there and watching the races from the top of our transport truck and getting the brown bag lunches supplied by the raceway.
  11. Thank you for sharing your photos. Great looking cars and truck. The Studebaker trucks always look interesting.
  12. Thank you for sharing your photos, always enjoy seeing them. Your friends Monte Carlo SS reminds me of one I ordered new for my wife when we got married in '85. Ours was white with the maroon interior with no T-tops but every other option available at the time. We sold it around 2001 or 2002 for what we paid for it, and it had 110,000 miles. At the time that was top dollar unlike how they are going now.
  13. While by the standards of the newly designed kits of today this can be considered an inferior design, it was state of the art in its day.
  14. Great looking step-side. The color along with the white walss make it look like a well-cared for truck.
  15. Great looking build. Always fun to build a model of something you either own or wish you did. Your 1:1 looks like a good find.
  16. Great looking paint finish and color. I like the contrast with the red interior.
  17. Great looking color and stance.
  18. I like the Pro-Street treatment. Great looking paint and clean looking trim.
  19. Great to see this type of quality time with your Granddaughter.
  20. I like the way you did the interior decals and the body as well. You captured the look of the 1:1 Ford Pinto with this trim option.
  21. Great looking color combination and I like the stance.
  22. Great looking build. I don't recall ever seeing one of these before.

    Mopar Muscle

Great looking MoPar collection. They all show beautiful looking paint finishes, and the colors are all "strong" looking.
  24. Looks just like the TV car to me. I like the details you added like the wire for the red light.
