  1. I always use the brush on the cap. The glue will dry pretty fast and hard and doesn't require much beyond a drop or two of glue to hold parts together.
  2. I would recommend a primer base. One, you would have already primed the surface to be sure all irregularities are removed anyway. Depending on the color of the primer this can also have an effect on the final appearance of any final color coats. You can leave the semi-flat finish or add clear or even Pearl topcoats to get the appearance you're after. Most AS colors are a solid color with little or no metallic in the paint. I think because of this the AS color may not seem as shinny under a clear coat as a metallic base color. This is most noticeable if used on a body with a contrasting metallic color.
  3. I like the mainstream look. The running boards are very realistic looking.
  4. Great looking paint color and finish. I think it looks bettewr with the cleaner lines and no extra stripes.
  5. Beautiful looking build, and it still looks fresh.
  6. Nice clean looking engine detailing. I like the body color.
  7. I have just about enough foil for 1 or 2 more '60's cars before I'm out. Just checked today with my model shop and they're still waiting for their order.
  8. Looks like you may have had a slow leak letting the tire overheat and the sidewall let go. Had a right front do the same thing years ago. At highway speeds in a straight-line large tires can go down and you don't realize it till someone starts waving at you from the next lane.
  9. Great looking paint work. Interesting body styling. I also like the interior treatment.
  10. Great looking Chevy don't see this one built often enough. Nice hand painted flames.
  11. Beautiful looking T-Bird. N ice color combination with the interior. Those wheels work well.
  12. The finish looks trashed, and I mean that in a good way. Nice looking wheels and I like the stance.

    65 Bonneville

Great looking color and clean finishes.
  14. Glad to see that you're building it.
  15. Great looking Impala SS. I like how you detailed the interior and the engine. I also agree with you and your appreciation for this era of Impalas, mine was a '66 SS in Danube Blue with Black interior. You mentioned wanting a dark Candy Red color. I have used a dark gold base color and then coats of the Candy Red until you can get the desired shade.
  16. Besides the great looking paint and finish, the design of the Off-Road or Rally theme is really interesting and well done.
  17. Great looking color and finish.
  18. Looks great and I'm a big fan of this color combination. The yellow "Marso?" wires look nicely done.
  19. Looks good at this point. I'm glad the suggestion for the Bel Air trim worked out for you. I figured with the idea you would be able to make it the way you wanted.
  20. Beautiful looking finish and the color looks great.
  21. I have only built one, and that was longer ago than I care to admit. The only issue that I recall was the grill area. The kits grill is chromed and that's not entirely correct. On the 1:1 there is a small body colored area that passes between the upper and lower grill. My suggestion would be to try and mask off the grills and the Chevy Bow Tie and scrape the chrome from the center part that should be body colored. Before spraying the body color, I would give it a light coat of clear to seal the edge between the grills and the center section just in case your body-colored paint would creep under the edge of your tape. I did mine in a style common at the time with the grill and bumpers painted the body color and the grills blacked out.
  22. Each one is an entirely unique design. The Surf Wagon looks great and very feasible. The Corvette turned Tunnel Haul Boat is great. I like how you designed the trailer out of the Mustang. The trailer looks very usable and practical.
  23. Great looking Saturday Night Dirt Track Car.
  24. Great looking Mustang, and I like how all of the colors seem factory correct.

I like the Milner '32 from American Graffiti. The 3 window also looks great.
