Maybe some blue painters tape. Disclaimer: There is a chance that it may damage the paint as well depending.

Beautiful looking finish. I like seeing all of the trim done this way. I built one of these last year and couldn't get the peal and stick chrome foil to look this good. I like how you protected the model for shipping .

The paint finish looks great. You mentioned that you were using 40 psi, this seems a little high only based on what others here have said to use. Looking at your finish I wonder if I maybe the higher pressure could be a better idea.

This is enough to make you want some more snow just so you could do this, almost.

I think I read somewhere that the "Hot Rod" cutoff was moved from the 1948 that was used at most sanctioned shows sometime ago. The "Hot Rod" term has been used so broadly for many years and Jolly Sipper's explanation is more common today it seems.

I think you're right. Now I got to get back to this '67 Chevelle two sedan Resin body. Parts from three or four other kits, stir slowly who know what can happen.

With all you have done the only thing else to consider might be to warm the can in some standing hot water for a few minuets, although it looks like the green pigment still isn't getting picked up when you spray. I'll have to remember the sawzall trick. If that doesn't get it mixed up I don't know what will.

Still trying to get a refund from our old insurance company and agent. We're changing our Home Owners and Auto Insurance after to many years. Each year they jack the rates just enough to make you shop around but not enough to change companies until this year. The policy is good until 2/28 and premiums are paid in full. I called the agent on 2/5 to tell them we were not renewing with them and to not pull the Home Owners Insurance premium to renew. That was when I found out they had already hit our impound account at the mortgage company for next years premium even though it wasn't due for over two weeks. She told me that she would get a refund for us right away. I'm guessing a week and a half is pretty fast in their world, not in mine. No refund by weeks end and I'll have to pay the new company out of pocket and wait to see how long it takes for the refund.

This is really interesting looking. I have onlt seen a few old black & white photos of these and considering the time when it was built it seemed very advanced. This may be the worlds first Fifth Wheel Trailer.

When you were shaking the can to get everything in suspension in the paint, was the "rattle" in the can working ?? I have had a couple of these that have set on the shelf for a couple of years and I almost gave up on them until I could get them to rattle at all. I think this may be due to the mount of particles in the paint that have settled in the can. You have no way of knowing how long this sat on the shelf at Michaels.

The finish at this point looks like all you would need is some clear coat or just leave it as is.

Looks great. I owned a '68 Bel Air 2 door back when and have always wanted to find one. They are kind of like looking for Hens Teeth as you know. I'll enjoy watching your build on this one.

The photo sort of looked like the crossed flags that would denote the 348. I'll bet that the old reliable 283 was the most used engine. That would have had the Chevrolet emblem over a gold colored V and this was used on even the 327 engine as well. I have built a few models of previously owned cars and trucks and it has always brought a flood of great memories while working on them, I hope this does the same for you as it sounds like you had some good times ridding in this car.
