As everyone else has mentioned, the color is unusual and really stands out. I like the hub caps and narrow white walls.
-
Beautiful looking build. Very cleanly detailed as seen in the close up pictures you toke outside.
-
Again, glad your back on this build. I like the Nassau Blue and White color combo, my father had a '56 210 sedan with that same color combo. What wheels and tires are you going with ?
-
You have it sitting really low, what all have you done on the suspension ? The wide whites look perfect with the painted wheels and the standard hub caps.

Ford Y-Block V8 "Fase II"

Very interesting pictures Tulio. I looked closely at the Chevrolet pick-ups. The back half of the roof and the body sides remind me more of the styling Q's on Ford trucks. The windshield is definitely Chevrolet as is the Tail Lights. The Spare Tire mount in the bed is different from the North American trucks that usually mount them under the rear of the bed and use a crank to lower the spare when needed. Except for paint color the engine looks just like any other Chevrolet. The front grill looks exactly like a '60's Chevrolet but the grill surround and the head lights look unique. In past years I have owned several different Fords with the 234, 272, 292, and 312 engines and had good service from them al. I think the answer to any engine is maintenance. These engines had an engine oiling system that worked fine as long as the oil and filter was change on a regular basses. Unfortunately as these cars aged the owners would not keep up the maintenance and then blame the engine. I had two '57 Fords at different times, and drove them both as if I had stolen them and never had any engine problems. -
Another project returning to the bench, 1954 Corvette Nomad.

I'm going to enjoy watching your build. I like your pictures showing where the body parts are joined. You got the different body lines perfectly between the Nomad and the Corvette in the rear fenders and tail lights. -
2020 Family Truckster !

It is no secret that the Koran imports have been building some quality products for some time now. With the American manufactures ending sedan production to putting "all of their eggs in one basket" to build trucks and SUV's they are handing the business to imports just like they did with the compact automobile years ago. It would seem to me as a consumer that they are making their last stand by betting on trucks and SUV's alone and they are handing everything else to everyone else. So as has happened before, gas takes a hike too say $3.50 to $4.00 a gallon what are they going to have to sell then ? History has a bad habit of repeating its self and I think the soo called American manufactures are painting themselves into a corner when it comes to product. This goes way beyond ugly looking trucks, this may prove to be a very poorly planned future. -
I hope they will also offer a stock Maverick also.

I had no idea. Should they do another movie they know where to get a lot of extras with their own costumes and props.

Perhaps the problem is not the business owner but the safety of the children. Is it not the parents responsibility to see that their child arrives at a safe location on the school grounds ?? My thought is if the School Board can't get the parents to deliver their children to the school in a safe manor and not disrupt a business then maybe someone should contact the authorities and children's services about the parents who are putting their children in danger by not delivering them to the school properly. I guess know one want to take responsibility of their child.

2020 Family Truckster !

I agree. If you want a vehicle optioned in a curtain manor you just have to have patience and realize it will take a couple of months to get what you want. As I said most people just settle for what ever is available and to many dealers seem to settle into a rut when it comes to ordering inventory. -
The '60 Chevy pick-up is a great source of parts. I know of a few who have been looking for a Chevy 6 cylinder and I like the Go Kart. If I built the truck that hood would have to go, but that's just me. The '32 Ford Sedan Delivery would be a must have also.

Very clean looking build with a great color and finish. I like how you slipped that engine in there. Is that a Viper or a big block with a different induction system on it ??
-
I agree with everyone else, the "look" is perfect. I like the fit and finish on the engine and interior. Nice to see the often forgotten radiator support rods from the firewall.

I enjoyed following your build on this and it looks amazing. For me the most impressive part of the body was how you chopped the top. All of the body lines flow so well you just don't realize at first glance everything that was done.

ยด69 Corvair Convertible - inspired by Steve Stanford
espo replied to Koellefornia Kid's topic in Model Cars
Very well done conversion. I'm about half way thru a build of this same kit. A Lambo V-12 would be exotic I'm doing a simple Corvette LS and Transaxle conversion. I like how you used the 140 H.P. engine and the K&N style air cleaners. With the stance, wheels and beautiful paint work this is really a great looking build. -

One of the big reasons you see mostly loaded 4-door trucks in dealers stock, MORE MARKUP. Fewer and fewer people order their new vehicles anymore. We all seem to need instant gratification no matter what we are doing or buying. Thus when you go into a dealership all you see is a sea of 4-door trucks with equipment you didn't even realize you needed. After the initial sticker stock with the dealer offering you a discount and rebate package it may not seem so bad. If all a dealer stocks is these behemoth trucks than that is what everyone is forced to buy. About your only choice is color. I have had to order everyone of our vehicles, with only 2 exceptions, since the '90's. the inventory situation at dealerships has gotten worse over an extended period of time. I have know idea where it will all end up, but if they don't do something about the appearance of todays trucks I hope they aren't banking on me buying one anytime soon. -
While I said "not funny" it wasn't because I failed to see the humor, I just feel that in the circumstances we see all to often in todays world it would just be best left unsaid.

The last few years I have noticed that a lot of commercial vehicles have all of their company information and advertising done with a wrap instead of paint . Besides protecting the body paint it would make their trucks much more saleable when decommissioned for resale. For the last ten years we have had all of our cars front sheet metal and headlights covered in a clear wrap and they all look almost as good as new after 100k miles. The last one we didn't do was our '98 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. The nose of the car was so pitted from "road rash" that we almost had to paint it to sell it. KDOT and local municipalities use so much grit on the roads during the winter months that it gets to be like driving in a sand storm when the snow melts and this just destroys the paint finish on the leading edge of a car or truck.

You should really try and get out more. Just kidding.

Another beautiful looking Ford for your garage. I followed your build and agree that adding a link might help someone who didn't see what all you have done better appreciate your build. In the photos the Blue is so dark that unless you view the photos showing the metallic in the paint you would think it is Black.

Great looks restoration.

What did you see on the road today?

Now that's what a truck should look like instead of the monstrosities in the market place today. -
The future of offroading?
espo replied to iamsuperdan's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
These will end up like so many other such SUV's in the market today. The only off road experience most of these will ever see is if they jump the curb at the Soccer field parking lot or run over a subcompact at the Mall parking lot.
