Double cab Dodge
espo replied to disconovaman's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I can see from the rear door openings your scribing your getting there. The hardest part maybe getting the center of the roof to look even. -
Very nice looking '40. I like the interior and the Air Freshener on the rear view mirror, nice touch.

'68 Firebird 400 Stock wheels/tyres
espo replied to Matt Bacon's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Fireball and some of the others listed in the directory would be a good place to look. Or offer a trade for the wheels and tires from the first Revell offering that could be built either stock or strip. -
My brother-in-law sent us a picture of a spare tire cover that shows the shift pattern for a 6 speed manual on it and says something about auto theft prevention. I have to get one of those covers for our JK since it's a 6 speed. I have taken it to the dealer for service and the lot boys can't drive it up from service since non of them can drive it.

A very long time ago Crager used a dark blue back ground behind their name. Maybe a tiny drop of clear blue over the name if you wanted to bring them out. Looks fine the way it is.

I like the way you detailed the Flathead. The new Flat Black paint job gives this a timeless look.

Great, clean looking build. The Wire Wheels and wide whites look period perfect. The little trim removal lightens up the look of the body.
-
Great looking build. I like your wheel choice.

So you say this is your 4th model ? It looks far better than my 4th model no matter what I thought at that time. You have the clean assembly in hand. I for see great things in your future modeling.

Excellent detailing with the washes and deferent paint treatments.
-
Great looking Type 1. I like the color and interior choice. So did you guys get busted or did you pull off the romantic meeting undetected ??

Excellent paint finish and the chrome trim is perfect. I like how you matched the interior to the exterior. I also would like to learn more about how you did your bumpers.

Major surgery on this body, I like how you took the unrealistic "Crown" out of the roof. You mentioned the prototypes grill not being to your liking. The only part I see that might be wrong with it is the grill its self and not the surrounding body panels. Your Mustang idea I think fits the overall look after all the body work you preformed. In the pictures the body looks like it came that way with no hint of all the changes you made. I wasn't sure about the stripe idea until I looked at the finished model. The Mustang front end and paint style flows perfectly.

Nice smooth paint work. I like the engine swap idea, more contemporary than the kit's V-6 option. I like the wheels even though the tires seem a little large.
-
Nice paint job. Quiet a bit of glitter, but keeping with the general theme.

I really wish I had known about these in the late '60's when I was playing around with a '56 F100.

Not that I know of. I think the best posable donor would be a kit of a heavy duty Ford truck from the '50's era, I don't remember every seeing any. Maybe some resin caster offers them. I might be a player for a set, if you find anything please let me know.

I think the "Rams-Horn" Y block exhaust manifolds were O.E.M. on the larger 1 Ton and up Ford trucks.
-
I like the dioramas, just wish they were in 1/24 scale. The Plymouth has a lot of possibilities also.

Not very familiar with this kit, but notice that on the face of the box it says "1 of 5" so that may explain everyone finding different kits inside their boxes. I guess I'm one of the few that enjoyed the movie. The movie was a comedy and not something done for an Academy Award. The movie was crude, rude, and socially unacceptable in it's content, but that is what made it funny at the time.

37 Ford Pick Up.

I like the light colors, the Sombrero Hub Caps and White Walls. With the nice looking Wood Floored Bed it would be a shame to use it as a Truck. -
