  1. Great paint color and finish. Looks like a fun cruiser.
  2. My thought on this reissue is that it would be better marketing to offer all or some of the features from previous issues. I agree this is a great kit and I have bought several in the past, I just will not be buy this issue based on the lack of options. I may not be the only one that is looking at this in the same way, or maybe I'm the only one. Should Revell reissue this model with more options I would buy some of them.
  3. Back when I was building a lot of NASCAR kits I bought several of these Modified Stocker kits. I never got the Falcon that I can recall but I still have the '65 Oldsmobile, '65 Chevelle, '66 Impala, and the '70's Monte Carlo. I think I'll have to revisit these in the near future.
  4. Sadly the lack of sales from this might lead Revell to believe that there isn't a market for this kit. The real problem is the content or lack there of.
  5. That's a great shade of Purple.
  6. I have been watching this build and the attention to details that you have used throughout. I like everything about it's appearance, and I think if someone didn't know what all you have done to the basic starting point they couldn't fully appreciate the model they are looking at.
  7. Looks to be in amazing condition considering it's age. I worked with a guy around 1963 who had the same model and color as your brother's car. I could never figure out why a young guy would want such a car at that time as everyone else was getting new or late model big engine cars of the day. I rode with him a couple of times and found out it had the El Dorado 3x2's engine. That big then 7 year old car would really surprise a lot of other drivers.

    IMSA GTO Mustang

Turned out great and I don't notice any decal problems from the photos.

    '66 Lincoln

That is very clean looking. I like how you eliminated most of the badges and small chrome bits and to my eye that really cleans up the look. Great colors that work well together. I would never have thought to put these together but they work well and a perfect finish on the paint.
  10. See if you have a Revell '69 Nova SS kit. This kit has the correct exhaust manifolds replicating the ones that GM started using on their Nova/Camaro and Chevelle small blocks at that time.
  11. You might try looking in the Jewelry Dept. at JO-Anns, Hobby Lobby or Michael's. I have found a lot of useable stuff there that work well for what we're doing.
  12. Great looking period paint treatment.
  13. Great looking pick up. Does the kit provide steps between the bed and the cab ?
  14. This is a great kit. Like you I have owned a couple of the TBI 350's and even reworked the Throttle Body on my '96. As for the real SS454 trucks one of the reasons for the better acceleration had to do with the rear axle ratio. The earliest ones with the 3 speed automatic had 3:73 gears and the later 4 speed automatics got 4:10 gears. This kit builds up into a very accurate model of the truck.
  15. I like the Green color and the finish looks great.
  16. I like the two tone paint treatment. I had a '72 Monte years ago and really enjoyed it.
  17. Looks great. You have no idea how much this looks like a coupe that sat in my driveway for over a year before I got it on the road. The only difference was I had the keys too the trunk, I like the screw driver though.
  18. Excellent patina finish and the photography really adds a lot of realism to it's appearance.
  19. Beautiful looking Pontiac. I like the correct wide whites and the color is era correct also. While the kit offers some challenges it also gives you a chance to use your modeling skills, and it would seem you overcame any challenges this kit offered.
  20. Beautiful looking El Camino. Perfect looking "Day Two" ride.
  21. Very very nice. Great looking paint work, and I like the contrasting interior colors. Dish Slotted Mags and the nose down just the way it was. Always like the Mercury Comet over the Fairlane at the time.
  22. Thanks. That's the name. I like to forget about such cars no matter what company built them.
  23. I can remember in the late '60's some local body shops that would cut, slice, and dice Unibody cars that had been hit and meld them into a car that you would never realize had been done. This was in San Bernardino Ca. and I really don't recall what California was doing with the Title work to show if a car had been totaled or not. I remember an almost new '68 Mustang coupe that had been hit hard in the back and both quarters were bowed out and the doors wouldn't even close. They got the back half of another Mustang for repairs. They cut the car under the front firewall and half way up the A pillar. I think they also got the doors from that car but I'm not 100 % sure. When they got done you would never know.
  24. Wasn't that the Cadillac modified Chevy Cavalier Sedan ? Chevrolet offered their similar model and the interior and trim added about 50 % to the invoice. We had another Chevy store call use for a dealer trade on the one we had. They never verified the invoice when they called and the locator only showed the base invoice and didn't show the cost of the upgrade, only that it was equipped with it. They made their deal and came and got the car the next day. Surprise Surprise when the other dealer started to finish the accounting on the deal they had delivered that night at what they thought was a profit. I think they went backwards about $3k on that deal.
  25. Great idea. I have often thought of doing something along these lines with one of the '48 Ford wagon kits. The one thing that has always put me off on the '41 kit has to do with the Hood, it looks like it is going up hill from the Firewall forward. I look forward to seeing what all you do constructing the Bed.
