  1. I would also like to build a few boat models. I think it all boils down to the economics of it all. First the model companies would have to make a profit. There are almost as many different boat companies as auto, well maybe a quarter, but each offers many different hull sizes and power plants. Now how do you figure out which ones to offer that will sell at a profit ??
  2. Sorry to hear about the loss of your SAAB. I always thought they were an interesting car and looked better than the Subaru. That Volvo wagon should be a winner though.
  3. All these thieves need is the number. They then reproduce a card that looks just like yours and go shopping. Last spring my wife and I were getting the spring plants for the yard at Lowes. Our card was shut down by the card company. It seems some one was have a great time at a spa in England on us. They realized it was fraud, but until we called in they said they were not sure. They issued us a new card and number and that was that.
  4. Beautiful build. Looking at the finished model you would never know the challenges with the kit if you weren't familiar with it.

    Ford Woody

I like this a lot. The patina makes it look like a 5 or 6 year old car with little maintenance.
  6. Great looking Gasser. Nice to see something that dares to be different.
  7. Beautiful build. I don't remember the exact time frame, but Ford did offer a limited number of Mavericks in the states with a 289 V-8 toward the end of production here. Always enjoy seeing what was going on in other parts of the world.
  8. Very nice clean looking build. I wouldn't beat myself up over any paint issues, If you didn't point out what you feel are faults most people wouldn't even notice.

    '60 Vette

Great job on the paint and I agree with everyone else, outstanding foil job. That is not an easy kit.

    '62 Vette

Great looking build. I did the same kit last year, red inside and out. Opening trunk was a little fiddly but other than that a great kit.
  11. I'm not much of a Mustang guy, but I know a cool car when I see one. Reminds me of a sticker I saw years ago a guy had on his dash. "Sit down, hold on, and shut up".
  12. Sorry all. I was thinking Special Edition in general and not Corvettes exclusively. If it were just Corvettes then the '58 and or '59 reissues would make sense. I think that they would need a new tool for any of the other C1 Corvettes. For C2's my personal favorite is the '67 Big Block, but any of them would work for me.
  13. I went to see Cars #1 since I was curious. Cars #2 was alright but once is enough on that. I think they made a move called Ratatoy or something like that. I was about a mouse that goes to Paris and becomes a Chef. A lot of laughs in that one and the animation is even better than Cars.
  14. I have used Meguiar's Plastic X polish on a couple of old kits that where molded in color. Polished by hand and they looked great. It also will restore your head light and tail lights to look like new. It will even work on a scratched instrument cover and a scratched plastic dash and console.
  15. Great build. I think I have seen some of these on YouTube with people doing some very crazy things with them.
  16. Great looking build. Nice main stream type car. A little black wash on the grill might help bring out the detail a little.
  17. Great looking build. I also had a neighbor who had an earlier model Hudson. Never got to ride in it though. I used to remember all of the neighbors and what kind of cars they drove. A lot more fun than video games.

    '64 Impala

Looks like you got it figured out. The open door looks just like the 1:1.
  19. Very creative Dash Board, and the seats should look great.
  20. I would like to see the '48 Ford offered in this type of format.
  21. This reminds me of so many vehicles that I saw growing up in the 'burbs of Chicago. I would visit an uncle who lived in Detroit and it was even worse there. After spending most of my life in different parts of California I can really appreciate just how hard it is to keep a vehicle nice in the "Rust Belt".
  22. So the great state of Illinois thinks your company is not in good standing ?? You might remind this yahoo that Illinois is just about bankrupt and your company is likely more financially stable than his state.
  23. I noticed some great bargains also. '50's and '60's trucks people are paying "stupid money" for and there are just a ton of clones. I think it all has to do with your "Fantastic Economy."
  24. I would outline the area as best you can with some tape to protect the body. Then with a #11 blade slowly outline the molding until the parting line from the body is very distinct. Since the area will be painted at some point I would make the line deep, and do the same on all of the "chrome" body trim. This way when it's time to foil or paint the trim you will have an easy to see separation line.
  25. I saw your build pictures, this turned out very nice. Looks just like a brand new truck ready to go into service.
