  1. Looks perfect. All it needs is a load of Mason Jars filled with White Lightening.
  2. Beautiful build. The Cragers always look right on Mopars .
  3. I would never have thought of building a fenderless '40, but it sure looks good. Did you widen the rear portion of the body ??
  4. I think this is a great idea. The only fitment problem I see is at the rear of the engine. Not sure how much clearance you have at the firewall, but it looks like the Viper is taller in the firewall area than the Buick. The Viper intake manifold looks like it would stand taller than the Buick distributer would.
  5. I really like the paint and color. The hood looks perfect. Where did you get your Valve Covers ?? I would like to get a set or two.
  6. Beautifully detailed engine, far greater than any I have seen. The paint is outstanding. Only MoPar could pull off those colors and make it look right.
  7. AMT offered the same basic body style in 1:25th but with the Mont Carlo SS front end. It has been reissued several times and shouldn't be to hard to find. The draw back would be the front end wouldn't match the "stock" front end.
  8. Turned out perfect. All the trim is clean and sharp.

    AMT 36 Ford

Very nice old style custom. I like the "Dagmars" that you used for bumpers.
  10. I think it turned out great. I followed your build and I liked your engine idea and how you made it all fit.
  11. Beautiful paint job. I wish I could have found a job where I could work on a model.
  12. This looks like one that should get done.
  13. I had a Bradly GT II years ago. Trust me there is a big difference between a model car and a kit car.
  14. Those look like the gag glasses that the old boy on one of the Burger or Pizza TV commercial ware. I have had to use glasses for several years now. I also had excellent vision as a young man. I now use Varilux lenses and the gradual change in the lens really isn't that noticeable. When I first got glasses is when I suddenly remembered trees have individual leafs on them.
  15. I think Dave Lee may have the answer on the "wood":. The only ones I remember were the Fiber glass or some type of hard plastic for the boarders. The center section had a wood pattern that looked like several parallel pieces of wood running the length of the body. I never realized that the '53's had real wood. I had a '53 Ford Ranch Wagon I bought as a commuter car in the late '60's and it was a two door all steal V-8 with 3 speed and overdrive. I never had to change the oil. I just added a quart or two every time I got gas.
  16. beautiful build, the colors and the "wood" look perfect. I like the traditional red painted wheels.
  17. Very nice looking build. You really don't realize just how small these cars were until you see a 1:1. Think of it as a Jenny Craig Miata.
  18. Wow on the foil job. Your dash looks more like a picture of a 1:1 . I like the interior color. Your build just keeps pushing my coupe closer to the top of the build list.
  19. That looks interesting, turn it over so we can see the top side.
  20. I like your decal ideas. Another thought on the engine cooling idea. It was very common and inexpensive to just put a stack of washers or a spacer of some sort between the engine cover and the top hinge, but another method of that time was an after market fiberglass air foil that mounted between the bottom of the rear window and the top of the engine cover. This directed the air flow coming over the roof into the air intakes located in that area. I had a '67 Type 1 Baja Buggy in the early 70's that had the whole fiberglass fenders, front hood and the headlight area along with this type of intake. The Empi Wheels that I used were the solid centers that look very much like a Centerline Wheel only it was all steel. Just addition thoughts. Are you going to make your decals available at a later date ??
  21. While that definitely is a beautiful clean area, it is hard for me to relate to anyone who has this neat a work area. I'm more accustomed to partially assembled sub assemblies and tools laying about. It always helps if you also have sanding dust on your work surface along with some blotches of filler putty and an overturned Liquid Cement applicator. I just don't understand how you can get anything done with the Cooking Channel on TV and everything where it is supposed to be.

    Modified.

Great looking build. I had one of these kits years ago and never built it. Now I'm sorry I let it go.
  23. Very nice looking build. I have never built this kit but yours looks better than I ever thought this kit would look.
  24. Very nice build. This was a very important car for Ford racing at the time. I first saw them at the Winter Nationals in Pomona, more than a few years ago. The only thing that looks a bit off would be the grill. It looks almost like it tilts downward in the center. They may have been this way or that's the way Revell did them. It really doesn't detract from your build thou.
  25. Amazing, it looks just like the show car.
