Very nice clean custom. The color and finish are great also.

Wow, looks just like something out of the old Rod & Custom "little pages". Outstanding paint. Can we see more please ??

Great looking Drag Car. I would consider doing something with the window trim. Some would just paint it black because of the type of build. Or you could foil or paint the window moldings . I this would make the dark color stand out better also. The "black wash" on the grill and tail gate moldings would also give a little more depth to those parts. I like the Blown Hemi engine idea.

I agree with the Wire Wheel to match what is on the "ground". A thought on the polish residue, there are many ways to get that out of the seams. One that I have used is an old tooth brush and even a moist tooth pick to get the seams cleaned up. Look forward to the finish on this build.

It wasn't until I got to the engine photo that I realized the pictures where not black and white. I like your color idea and it is more like what you would have seen at the time. Last year I built this same model but with the colors reversed, The body was TS-42 Light Gun Metal and the top and trunk with TS-38 Gun Metal. The interior I went with a bright red Bel Air style. Are you going to use the roll bars or stay a more basic build ??

Beautiful paint finish Geoff. It almost looked like it didn't need polishing.

Let's build a " Little Duece Coupe"
espo replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I know this is all hypothetical, this mythical 1500 lb. '32 coupe with a Flat Head mill. That said it would be interesting to know just what such a car would do with the 200 H.P. and a lter model Ford 3-speed with overdrive. If the ring & pinion was a 4:11 or even a 3:70 it would be a very fast 1/4 miler, at least in it's day. Then go out on the open road and use the Over Drive, I don't know if it would do 140 M.P.H. since the '32 is basically a barn door in the wind, but I think it would have to be very close. Now who wants to drive a modified '32 with a buggy spring suspension at 140 M.P.H. ?? -
Beautiful build. I liked the way you detailed the engine, and both tops really set this one apart.

Wasn't Super Stock also a class designation from the NHRA ?? I think either MoPar and many others raced in this class. -
Larry's '51 Jaguar XK120 coupe....In his own words

Beautiful build of a beautiful car. The roof looks as if it was made that way, you'd never know that you added it. Wasn't sure at first about the color, but the more I look at it the better I like it. -
In one respect it is a loss having Jr. retire from driving, but is still a team owner and he may very well expand on that. There is always the possibility of becoming a broadcaster like Jeff Gorden. I live within 5 miles of Kansas Speedway and was in the stands during the Tire Test when he crashed. With the problems he has had with head trauma and what we are all learning about it now I think he is doing what is best for himself for the rest of his life. I like many others will miss him as a driver, but I think the quality of his life is far more important than any sport be it NASCAR or the NFL . AS for the Segment Racing mentioned by others I have just one question. WHAT THE #@*% ARE THEY THINKING ?????

Don't know how everyone feels about the theory that "We all come from the Ocean". But after looking at that first picture and the teeth in the "Sheeps Head" fish you have to kind of wonder. This is why I go no deeper than the bath tub.

Great color and stance. That's quite a hood scoop, what's going on under there ??

Thank you for sharing. Remarkable number of builds. Even came from Finland ?? Great creativity on so many models you don't normally see. Outstanding dioramas.

Beautiful looking build. The model looks period perfect, in fact that's the way it should look today.

I also like the color, and the molded headlights look well done also. It looks like you will be keeping the hood chrome. -
Beautiful build. I enjoyed watching you build up of this. The side decals add a whimsical look that looks so right on this car.

Dark Cherry Pearl is the color I was thinking of but just couldn't remember the name. You may find other issues with the body that aren't as noticeable and you can correct them when you redo the body. I personally think these GM bodies look best without the vinyl roof. I know many like them, but to me it breaks up the flow of the body lines.

I was admiring your paint job when I also noticed the mold line on the roof. Since the paint is over 20 years old and you're not sure what it is you are left with the vinyl roof option or a strip and paint. Only my personal taste but I really like this color and it looks somewhat like one of the OEM colors offered by Model Master. So if you went with the strip and paint there is that. You mentioned that you have a vinyl roof kit and I know many have used this and prefer that. Dodge Driver mentioned the spray paint from a distance. This is the only vinyl roof addition that I'm familiar with. If you use the paint method another paint to consider is Rust-Oleum Textured spray paint. Very inexpensive at any home supply store. I have used it several times and it leaves a very convincing finish. Plastruct offers many shapes and sizes for moldings and the top seams. As others have mentioned it is nice to see one that is not done up as a GSX.

1950 F-5 COE Tanker

You could follow Ron's suggestion and add to the lower body of the bed or use a conventional cab truck/chassis. -
Great looking build. I once owned a '51 Ford that didn't look much better when I started on it and it was a daily driver. Krylon Flat Black is the color of choice.
