  1. I'm not sure how the laws work in the UK for showing manufacturing logos, but many US companies will charge the tv production company if they show their logo on tv. I know this makes no sense but what does anymore? It is so bad here that when my wife and I watch The Home & Garden Channel they will do the same thing to the logos on the car that the realtor is driveing on House Hunters. You would think that the free advert. would be wecomed by the companies.
  2. Hi Ed, Like you I have looked around OP for deals. The coupons are great IF thay have what your looking for. Michaels just keep getting the same old stuff, and Hobby Lobby will sometimes have something new. But if you want the latest as well as the reissues you might look at Hobby Haven at 105th & Metcalf. If you haven't been there thay are in the back next to the blood bank. Good people and they will tell you what and when something is comeing in. They will order anything you want. That's also where I buy my Model Cars Magazine.
  3. Your in a cooler climate, be sure that you are not whereing any wool clothing. If you have even been whereing a wool shirt while working on your model and later try to paint it it will sometimes get into the paint.
  4. I have Frenched the head lights and tail lights on some models by just glueing them in the stock location. Then use a little body putty to mold them into the fender. Sand and prime, then paint. Then the light bucket can be painted silver or foiled. Then install the lense. If you want to realy get the tunneled look, get the head lights and tail lights from the new Revell Merc custom.
  5. I remember seeing the first photo of the '49 Ford years ago in a magazine that was for The California Highway Patrol. They had a bimonthly publication that showed wrecks that also had pictures of the officers that were working the accident. Most were far worse than this. They even had pictures of the deceased still behind the wheel. It was not pretty. It will make you realy appreciate the safty equipment inthe cars starting in the mid 50s. Remember that before that wee didn't even have seat belts and that metal dash board had lots of pretty sharp knobs everywhere.
  6. The Revell kit would be your best starting point, but removeing the roof for the first time you want to be sure to be carfull. Check over at the help part of this form for some guidance. You might want to check with banditresins.com. I think he has a body based on the Revell Firebird. Good luck.
  7. I have enjoyed watching the Super Cars for a couple of years on HD Theater on satellite dish. This year they changed their name to Volacity and are now chargeing real high prices for the satellite dish to carry their signal. I just had to draw the line on the monthly cost , so I may not get to watch it this year unless Speed or Fox has it. I saw a special last year with Daryl Walthrop in a ride along. I think he "dirted" his pants.
  8. Hay Doc is that your folks? Cool.
  9. Great looking build.
  10. Both cars look great.
  11. Very cool looking cruiser.
  12. Looks great. Your attention to detail is impresive.
  13. Thankyou for sharing. Real great looking show. The number of El Caminos is unusuall. The black '59 with the Fuel Injection is real special. If it realy is a factory F.I. car it is the only El Camino so equipped that I have ever heard of.
  14. Pontiac used a line that ran from the heater to the water jacket, usually on the rear of the intake manifold. This was the way that I remember seeing it on all Pontiac V8s from 1955 thru the '70s.
  15. That should fin a trophy or two. Looks spot on. I used to have a 1on1 '69 Camaro. Sold it in '95 to get a new truck. Still miss that car. Your paint and detail are perfect.
  16. These are great builds. Makes you wonder how you could stop laughing after each show long enough to build.
  17. That is nice. How hard was the kit to work with? I've always strugeled with most resin bodies, but i would like to try this one.
  18. Man, that's just so cool looking. I bet you would like to go into the garage and have a 1on1 twin to this. I love this kit. The hood treatment is just how it used to bee done in the mid to late fifties. Looks like it could be at a Good Guys Show.
  19. Outstanding body work and paint. I realy like your induction system, extra nice back wash on the blower.
  20. Like your Petty Torino. Since you are dueing a Petty collection you might start looking for some others. Polar Lights made a model of his Dodge Charger and Monogram also kitted his Grand Prix
  21. Nice build. I know others would like the engine compartment the same color as the body, and depending on what look you're after that would be good also. If you use a contrasting color engine block, or even a body colored engine block it may show your engine detail better. Are you going to use the Pro Stock hood or the flat hood? Looking forward to seeing more on this build.
  22. In addition to the Bare Metal Foil you could use a Prisomecolor Mt. Silver pin. Got mine at Office Depot. Works great, has a roller type head. As always try it on some scrap first as it is hard to control on bumpers and such.
  23. After you have used a "pin vise" you will wonder how you ever built a model without one.
