  1. Real nice start. I want to see what you do with the tail lights.
  2. Excellant pictures. But I have looked at pictures from many others and I question the fuel lines. Its hard to tell this many years later just what is correct. Like your photos and the photos I was able to find in Hemmings, this is how I ran my fuel lines. In the photos of Marshall Teagues car at Dayton show a differant routing. Than the photo from the Hostetler Musem shows a third fuel line layout. Makes you wonder which is which, or are all three correct. This is a real nitpick, but still you wonder. Do any of you know why the fuel line would go from the pump to something on the bottom of the intake manafold? I can't recall ever seeing anything like that before. Could it been some kind of chock for the engine with two carbs?
  3. I realy like what you did with this kit. Now I need to dig around in my stash and build one also.
  4. The power steering pump would be monted on the drivers side, near the steering box. As others have said, you could get a 6 in an Impala, but most were in the lowerline models.
  5. There are many companies that do convertable conversions for dealers. This looks like something from the aftermaket. The convertable top that seems to have a sun roof for the back seat passangers. Like most of you I also thought the Murano was a wast of sheet metal.
  6. Very thoughtful of you. Your 53 vicky looks awesome. If you want to build a 51 ford, try the 49 from AMT with the 51 trim from Modelhaus or AMT's 50 ford that could be built as a convertable or a vicky hardtop. I have used the Modelhaus 50 & 51 ford Crestline tudoor kits and they have excellant detail on both.
  7. 1) Kit has decals that you see on box. 2) There are several light bars in each kit. This is a very accurate Charger and also has the stock interior which is what I used to build a model of our 2010 Charger.
  8. I had seen your build when you were working on the paint. I think it all came out fantastic. On your side pipes,do it however you like. It all depends on what you are presenting. Side pipes at times called "weed sprayers" or "lakers". For most of the "cruisers" they were a way to make the car look lower and almost allways had a removable caps on the end.Some with upto three caps. Not all of these were hookedup. This could be very differant wherever you live and if your thinking 2012 or 1950s. Man this Impala looks great.
  9. What a great Christmas gift. For what my two cents is worth. Look for the last issue of the AMT '57 Bel Air. The original AMT could be built as a 210 or a Bel Air. The side trim on that model is to heigh on the side of the body. The later AMT was completly deferant model. Its an outstanding kit if you can find one. If your grandfather's '57 was a 210, you would have to remove the ribbed moldings from the rear quarter panels and shorten the trim on top of the fins. The 210s moldings were somewhat longer than the 150s.on top of the fins. The seat patterns are also differant. With the time left this will be like "OVERHAULING" only in scale.
  10. A great find. You could do an original restore, billet street rod, How about a 1920's gangster car with machine guns on the floor. This should be an interesting build.
  11. I'am disappointed too hear about Riverside Hobbies. I lived in Sacto. from 1985 till 1996. Spent a lot of time, and money there. Always enjoyed the visits. If I need anything at all they either had it on the shelf, or would get it for you. I wish them all the best that life can bring.
