  1. It looks awfully nice in primer ! Thanks Blair ! Maybe I'll do a W.I.P.
  2. This is really sharp !!
  3. I finally bit the bullet and spent over the century mark for this one !
  4. Time for some more fun in primer ! This is my current project . . . motivation will be a blown 327 Chevy !
  5. That does make sense . . . I usually have a good idea how much I'm willing to spend before I place my first bid and usually will place a max bid . Something about seeing " Reserve Not Met " just makes me look elsewhere . I understand what you are saying but if I place a max bid and it's not high enough I'm not going to keep bidding just to see what the reserve is ! What you are really saying is that putting a " Reserve " on an item makes some people think it's really a rare kit and they better bid higher than they planned if they want it !
  6. Occasionally I will come across an auction for a kit I would really like and get that message after bidding . Maybe it's just me but when I see that I quit bidding so I won't waste my time . Why don't they just start the auction at the minimum price they will accept ? Maybe they like seeing 24 people bid on their kit , but they still didn't sell it . Or maybe they're just curious as to it's value and don't intend on selling it at all ! Am I the only one who feels like this , or do I just not understand the reasoning for it ? What do you think ?
  7. Hey Dude !! Just came across this here . . . as said before it looks excellent , and the gold is a great touch !
  8. Beautifully done !
  9. Looks to be a fine looking model Stan ! Just one suggestion about the close-ups . . . sometimes they're too close and we can't really see the model .
  10. Beautiful model Ron ! I think 55's look great all black . As for selling your car . . . been there , done that .
  11. I agree with you Junior , it looks pretty good in your photo . But as soon as the windows and doors go in it's pretty obvious that the scale is different . It should be fairly simple to build new ones .
  12. That's a beautiful color ! Absolutely gorgeous model Tulio !
  13. Actually the Phoenix Toys engines are 1/24th scale . Nothing fancy though except for the plug wires and vacuum lines . I guess if you really hate painting your own engine ten bucks might be worth it .
  14. I think you did an awesome job on this and you shouldn't worry about the accuracy of minor details ! As an old Wood Brother's fan I'd be proud to have that on my shelf !
  15. Very , very nice ! Excellent work Tom !
  16. Agreed , that's a great looking hood ! I have one of those scoops too . . . thought it was from the '65 Galaxie kit but a quick check and it's not . Maybe someone else can identify it !
  17. Excellent tire choice , much better than the kit tires . You shouldn't rush this too much , with some engine parts from your stash and some extra detailing it can be a great looking model !
  18. Nice !! Back in '71 I didn't care for this body style but it sure looks great now !
  19. Looks pretty nice Bruce ! One thing I noticed is the screens on the engine cowl . . . very nice , I gotta remember to try that !
  20. Excellent W.I.P. Bill ! I'm glad you are back at your bench as I've always enjoyed following your builds . The chassis on this '59 is what really stands out to me , the details and the red - oxide primer just looks great ! Most people paint it black or body color and in my opinion it just looks wrong . And Roman Red is the perfect color ! I've owned one '59 and two 60's and still can't pick a favorite !
  21. Beautiful !! Is the candy red over white or gray primer ?
  22. Very nice work opening the rear and adding the Cleveland ! Two thumbs up !
  23. Thank you Rex , now I understand why I've never seen that engine before ! Any chance you will have other engine parts available ?
  24. Great work Dave ! It's perfect in flat black , gives it a real surfer look !
  25. Maybe not a serious subject but it's still a model and deserves the same attention as any other . After all these years I still enjoy building these kits and there are sites/forums dedicated to these kits . Nice job !
