  1. Thanks Mike ! You should build yours , would love to see it ! Thanks Dave ! Thanks much David !
  2. Thank you Carl !
  3. Harry's Bentley - WIP Finished
  4. Really nice job rerouting the exhaust around the torsion bars , when working on my '71 Roadrunner that gave me fits ! I spent more time on that than any other part of the build , redid them several times , and still wasn't happy . Next time it will be done first instead of last !
  5. Looks really nice to me Bob ! But that's looking at photos , you had some issues so you're probably soured on the whole thing . Just think of it as a learning experience , we've all been there .
  6. For being so small it looks really good along side my 1/25th builds . Thanks ! Probably not the Aurora or Lindberg ones but the Monogram 1/32nd kits are a possibility .
  7. Not sure I'd call it goofy , it took some imagination and it turned out really cool ! It sure isn't any kind of Toon model .
  8. Thanks Jim ! Not a coincidence , lots of collectors refer to this kit as the Ram Rod/Silver Sapphire kit . Thanks Ray ! Thanks much !
  9. Thanks Bob ! Thanks ! Thanks Greg ! Other than being yellowed they worked great .
  10. Looks really cool Pat ! I never would have thought 60's style wood siding would look so good on a Magnum .
  11. I placed an order on August 23rd for several sets of decals . Ray emailed me several times to keep me updated when he received my payment , when they went to the printer , when he received them back , and when he shipped them to me . They were packed in a sturdy cardboard mailer and shipped to me on September 15th and I received them on September 29th , less than a month for custom printed decals is pretty darned good ! Including shipping it cost me $29.07 per set . Yes that's more than other places but nobody else is making any of these decal sets , and Ray did custom colors for me without hesitation ! The decals are beautiful and I won't hesitate to order from him again . If you can get over the price I highly recommend them .
  12. I took a break from my on going project to build something quick . . . two weeks is quick for me ! The Ram Rod is one of several 1/32nd scale kits released by Aurora back in 1962 . At just 4 ½ inches long , it’s low parts count and small size make for a very easy and fun build . I built the Ram Rod straight out of the box , adding only an upholstered firewall made from sheet plastic to match the roof insert . I did vary from a stock build by modifying the multi-piece body so it could be glued together before paint and the interior slipped into the body afterward , then the cowl was reworked slightly to match the sides of the body . The two piece tires had the seams filled and sanded before spraying with flat black paint , then white walls were cut from self-adhesive vinyl . When finished the tires were coated with some Pledge Future Shine . The Ram Rod was painted with Tamiya TS-50 Mica Blue and then it was topped with TS-13 Clear . The wheel discs and engine chrome were sprayed with Rust-Oleum Bright Coat Chrome while the grille , windshield frame , and side fin trim was brushed with Molotow chrome . To finish it off I was able to use the original 60 year old decals after spraying them with a clear sealer . Even though they had yellowed quite a bit the decals look great against the dark blue paint . This vintage Aurora kit was a blast to build and even when displayed with the box there’s plenty of room for it on my shelf !
  13. Sharp looking convertible Roger , well worth the effort !
  14. Congrats Steve , looks like you had a great weekend !
  15. Well done ! That color looks great with the red stripes !
  16. You're right about the skid plate , it was worth adding . I've always been bothered by exhaust hangers too , never quite know what to do with them . They're never really seen so a piece of round stock is the simplest way .
  17. Hah ! I like it !! Brings back memories of "Harry and The Hendersons" !
  18. Thanks Curtis ! The hood ornament is actually broken but the other piece was taped to the inside of the hood ! Thanks , your Monaco looks really nice too ! The one I found was a mess but after stripping 3 coats of brush painted enamel it's in good shape . I plan a chassis and engine swap also . I do have one nice hood ornament for it that could possibly be cast , never tried anything that small before .
  19. For a few years now I've been collecting parts for a '66 Monaco and now have everything except for a windshield , then I picked up this '66 Polara Convertible . Definitely wasn't planning on it but it was to nice to pass up .
  20. Beautifully done Randy , love that color !
  21. Absolutely stunning Cobra , very well done ! The detailing and your photography make it hard to tell if it's real or a model , but then you opened the door and we saw the door hinge .
  22. Well done ! I remember that 70's style , even did a couple myself . Fun times !
  23. Great looking race car Gerald ! Love that body style !
  24. Thanks A.J. ! And transportation to the show wouldn't be a problem .
  25. Absolutely stunning ! One of the best Olds body style ever !
