  1. Made a lot of progress on the seats over the weekend but didn't take many photos . Basically I did the same as with the side panels by making patterns on .005" sheet and cutting them apart into separate pieces . When glued to the seats they left a nice groove and sharp edges for the piping . The scale is for sizing the seat decals later . I used .020" rod for the piping , it's probably too big but the next smaller size I had was .010" and that seemed way to small . The piping needs to be painted silver and there's no way I could paint that small stuff ! It will all get sanded down slightly before paint so hopefully it will be okay . I realized why the courtesy lamps I added earlier looked out of place . . . they're supposed to be down on the armrests . Duh . Lastly I spent some time on my computer creating artwork for the seat decals . Top is the 1960 Dodge upholstery pattern and the bottom is my artwork . By transferring the patterns to the artwork I should be able to print some decals that will fit right in place .
  2. Yes it does keep getting better ! I found the DecoArt One Step Crackle on Amazon , can't wait to give it a try !
  3. Very well done Steve , everything about it looks just right !
  4. I think this is the first time anybody has clearly shown how to do this , Thanks ! What is the "crackle medium" you talk about ?
  5. Great idea making the harness ! I've done the same thing and after painting it black you can paint the individual wires different colors where they attach to the components . Test your paint first . I used some craft paint and it made the wires much thicker than I planned .
  6. It's all good Dave , I do the same thing all the time .
  7. Wow I love that color , should be beautiful when finished !
  8. I've always wanted to open the cowl vents but never attempted it , but after seeing how nice they look I'll definitely give it a shot !
  9. Great work modifying the firewall and intake !
  10. Thanks Bill ! I'm doubt it would be up to the expectations of a buyer so no resin copies in the future .
  11. Great work foiling that baby , she's beautiful ! Would be hard to top it but never say never .
  12. Great execution and a really cool looking conversion , great job !

Well done Dave ! Saw this over on CCII a while back and I still think it's the best Rommel's Rod conversion ever !
  14. Looking forward to this one Dave ! Love the wheel/tire combo you picked , especially with the wide whites .
  15. Thanks Dave ! Think I bought it on Amazon but it's also at Hobby Lobby , Michael's , Ebay , etc . . .
  16. That Aqua really pops with the mica powders sprayed on top ! I like the smoothed look and agree the plain firewall is a plus .
  17. Thanks much David ! One small addition to finish of the interior panels , courtesy lamps on either side for the rear seat . I think they should be further forward on the panel so I'll end up moving them . I remember us kids sleeping on long trips and those lamps were bright enough to wake us up ! There were no door lock knobs on these cars . The door handle on the arm rest is pushed forward to lock the doors , pulled back to unlock , and pulled back all the way to open the door !
  18. Very impressive work , the taillights are looking really good !
  19. Neat video , I think you've found something new to do with all of that spare time you have !
  20. Thanks Bill ! Never thought I would either . . . first time for everything !
  21. Thank you Carl !
  22. Thanks Jim ! It's "Amazing Mold Putty" by Alumilite , think I bought mine on Amazon .
  23. Thanks Steve ! Completely new ground for me , definitely a learning curve .
  24. Lookin' great so far ! Nice work on the front suspension/steering and the Quick Change rear .
  25. It's not easy combing parts from one manufacturer with another especially body parts but you've done an excellent job . Great looking GT-40 !
