  1. Yeah, MPC sure didn't put a whole lot into that kit. But, you did some major justice to it. I like it!
  2. Now that's one sweet ride!
  3. Carl- Couldn't tell you for sure. It appears to be...maybe. The box says 1/24th scale.
  4. Great show! First time attending and glad I went...brought some models along too. Even got a model from the raffle! Definitely going next year!
  5. Got a sealed 1995 re-release of the 1/24th scale Monogram Cherry Bomb w/chopper & trailer at the Milwaukee NNL raffle tonight. Great show by the way!
  6. How about the Cadillac Hearse Hauler on Graveyard Carz? A 60 something Caddy Hearse with a MOPAR 440(I think) dual-carb high-rise w/zoomies coming up from underneath behind the front wheels.
  7. @James- Pretty sure they're unrelated. The swap meet is run by Milwaukee Miniature Motors and is one of 2-3(more?) shows a year. The NNL and swap meet just happen to fall on the same weekend. I won't make the swap meet on Sunday, but I'm planning on being at the NNL show tomorrow. I have 4 models that I'm bringing to display. Would have been 5, but the 5th is eluding me at the moment. It's in a place that I'll remember.
  8. Outstanding work Charles! Can't wait to see it finished!
  9. My wife seems to luck out and she found an AMT '57 Corvette Gasser(open, slightly started, but seems to all be there) and a Testor's 1/48th P-51D Mustang(sealed inside) at a local thrift store. Was at the same store just days before her looking for work shirts and, of course, no models...go figure.
  10. No promises, but I'm going to try and make it this year(completely forgot last year ). And, maybe bring a model or two to display. Was talking with Alex at Model Empire the other day and the Milwaukee NNL came up. I also picked up the flyer from there as a reminder....getting older you know. So, maybe I'll see some of you there.
  11. @Tucker- Well, you definitely have the "styrene disease." You're officially infected. Welcome to the club!
  12. @Don- Those car haulers hold 6 or 7 cars. You can still find the kit of just the trailer too. There's even another kit with the tractor, trailer, and two car kits included(the '82 Camaro Z-28 and '82 Firebird T/A) all in one box.
  13. Seen them on Ebay for up to a couple hundred dollars for unopened mint kits. It seems the "Holy Grail" 1/8th Monogram kit is the '79 T/A. Last one I saw went for over $400 a couple weeks ago. But, as everyone knows, the value of something is as much as someone is willing to pay for it.
  14. @Joseph- That's something you and the seller have to agree upon. Do you pick it up from their location? Will the seller ship it to you? Do you or the seller pay for the shipping? Or, do you meet at a neutral location for the deal. I personally have dealt with two Craigslist deals and we've met at a neutrally agreed upon location to do the deal. It's just something you have to work out with the seller. Good luck.
  15. @Mark- That's pretty much what happened...part of the load was frozen in the front passenger side corner. In the first pic you can see the stone that was left in the trailer. We got what we could out with a loader and we shoveled the rest out for the loader to back drag it away before the wrecker got there right the trailer.
  16. @Mathew- Ah yes....the ole "Pucker factor!!!" Had that feeling once or twice before! @Carl- Thanks. They're from my phone. Have a few more, but these were some of the better ones. Don't know if the frame was bent on the tractor, but there was some suspension damage. We were working by the time it was towed out. It didn't look too bad in that last pic, but you never know. It could have been tweaked a little.
  17. @JT- The driver was fine, but I'm sure he freaked when it happened. Yeah, that recovery/wrecker is a sweet machine. @Gordon- You and I posted at the same time. I tried to explain how and why it happened right above your comments. It already happened a little before I pulled in at work. And yeah, aside from the ripped air-bags and fuel tank strap, I'm surprised more things didn't break.
  18. @Mike- I think the wrecker towed it away. I missed that. I know one of the passenger side fuel tank straps sheared and there was a slight fuel spill. Also, at least the rear set of air-bags on the tractor were stretched and torn open. Apparently, the load was loaded last night and when he got to where I work he had the trailer backed in at an angle to dump the load in the bin and the rock was frozen on the passenger side while the other side dumped. Well, all that weight hanging in the air...over she went.
  19. The missing load from yesterday arrived this morning. But.........we got a late start.
  20. Looks pretty clean and sharp! Love GTO's! Only thing I really see is the driver side valve cover is upside down. Can't tell on the passenger side.
  21. Nylon window screen. I used it to update a '70 1/2 Trans Am grille to a '73 grille to make the T/A from McQ. I'm sure there's other custom applications for it too.
  22. @Ray- Not cigars........Turkish Gold's. Was kind of a joke about the Chevy power. But, I was figuring along the lines of the LS powered Jeep I mentioned. Any other clues? Obviously Ford power.......
  23. Here's the green '70 Charger from a few pages ago that got rear-ended. It's at Graveyard Carz being repaired right now. These pics were posted on their FB page within the last couple of days.
  24. @Ray- Dare I say....Chevy LS powered? Like the one in a few Youtube videos.
  25. Nice work so far. Super jealous...I've wanted one of those models for years. They're just too expensive and it seems to be even rarer to find a "basket case" to redo.
