  1. I'm really not a fan of COE's, but I know there are plenty here. This one was at where I work. It's on a straight truck frame and is a vacuum unit for a roofing company.
  2. I would have put this in the "What did you get today", but it probably would have been moved here. The first one is one that my wife found at a thrift store. From Auto World, a Dodge Challenger. It was limited to 5000 copies and then the dies were destroyed. Each package includes filings from the dies. And, the second model is a First Gear 1966 MACK R-600 mixer truck. It's actually modeled after a local(formally) redi-mix concrete company from Milwaukee, WI. I didn't remove it from the box yet as it went right into storage with the other First Gear MACK's that I have.
  3. On the way to work yesterday there was a '39 Chevy hotrod behind me till I turned off to get on the freeway. While on the freeway I saw a Red '72-3 Pantera going the other way.
  4. Well, you can't use that one for the "real or model" section now!
  5. Someday.
  6. Kerry- We'll see what happens this fall/winter when the construction season slows down. Maybe I'll be back down to M-Th with 10hr days again and Friday's off. Right now we're M-F and up to a 12hr shift. Also, I did meet a guy at Model Empire some time ago that is an AMG member and he did invite me to come to the meetings. But, with my work schedule....well, you know. Other than you guys, don't know if I'd really know anyone else. Nick- Yes, Mike is a nice guy. I've seen him a few times outside of the hobby store here and there, and we've always talked for a few minutes.
  7. Nick- LOL....Wish I could. I work out in Sussex and we'll see what happens in a few months or a little more. Besides Kerry and Ken I kind of know Mike(don't know his last name) that works at Model Empire. So, if I can make meeting in the future, there will be a few familiar faces at least.
  8. Wish I could be there to check it out...work nights. Kind of regret not coming to a meeting before I started this job. Maybe this winter if I still have this job and we slow down AND I'm on 1st shift temporarily with some Friday's off. We'll see.
  9. Jeff Dunham, yes the ventriloquist comedian and car buff, got to take a pre-production Hellcat out today and posted some pics on FB. But anyway, one pic he posted is of the key fobs. The black one limits the horsepower to 500 and the red one unleashes everything.
  10. I wouldn't mind seeing an '86-7 442 with the Lightning Shifters. I actually like the last couple of years of that body style as well as the Regal/GN/GNX. Wouldn't mind an '87 Grand Prix either, but not really the 2+2 for NASCAR. Not everyone prefers/likes a Chevy.
  11. Was at the hobby store this morning. A guy there that I was talking to had his '73 Corvette there. A '69 GTX drove by while I was there. Then, on the way home I saw a '65 Mustang Fastback. On the way out to dinner a T-Bucket was going the other way. At Quaker Steak & Lube, where my wife and I ate, there was a '6? Corvette on a lift in the dining room where we ate(sorry, no pic). In the parking on the way out there was a '67 GTO, '74 Formula Firebird, '82(3 or 4...not sure), '6? Cadillac Convertible, and a '67 or '68 Barracuda. On the way home a '70 Impala going the other way.
  12. Went to Michael's after a dinner date with my wife and got a couple of kits on clearance. The Challenger was $9.99 and the 442 was $8.99.
  13. Was on FB last night and I see Revell posted pics of your Mustang. Congrats!
  14. If the kit is right, wrong, good, bad....I don't care, kudos to you! I think you did a fantastic job! I'm impressed.
  15. Nice! Someday I might build mine.
  16. @Blair- Expensive eh....ouch! Well, back to Craigslist I guess. Thanks for the info though.
  17. @Blair- Nice hobby room! Where did you get those display cases? Kinda like those. Do they have lights inside too?
  18. Thanks Mark & Carl. Thinking after I blow the GP apart I'll dig out my AMT '70 Monte Carlo out and see if the chassis fits. If so, I'll definitely open the hood, add an engine, and build a full detail model.
  19. Got a couple more scores from ebay this week. Both arrived today. First is the Johan '60 Desoto Adventurer. It was open with loose pieces, but the seller did an outstanding job containing all the parts in zip lock bags and wrapping the body. Second, is one I've been looking for for a long time...a '69 Pontiac Grand Prix promo. Pretty much stole it too. It is damaged though...a broken out A-pillar and roof corner, but it looks pretty straight forward to fabricate and fix.
  20. @Harry- The kit is a snap-tite type of model("build and play" is what Revell is calling it). I believe it is intended for kids to build and.....well, play with. Hence, no side mirrors. Those would most likely snap off and be lost in no time.
  21. The problem I see with Chevrolet Camaro matching or passing the factory 707hp mark is the Corvette. Only when the Corvette far surpasses that mark will the Camaro follow. I think GM doesn't allow any other GM vehicle to match or be set the same as, in other words "beat", the Corvette. Camaro's (and Firebird T/A's) always received the previous, and slightly detuned, Corvette engines. Ford, on the other hand, will probably respond fairly quickly to the Hellcat in the next couple of years.
  22. @Carl- I started with nothing. My dad "tested" the waters with me and bought a kit for me to build with him. Well, lets just say I far surpassed his expectations. As far as a stash is concerned, I don't have any pictures, but it gets bigger and bigger.
  23. Everybody starts from meager beginnings.
  24. These were just posted tonight on Facebook from GYC. I posted some of their progress pics a couple pages back, but they finally got it done. Some before and afters...
