Best Father's Day present ever?
The70judgeman replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
@Harry- Exactly...too valuable. 1 of 12 real HEMI 'Cuda Convertibles from '71 I believe. -
@Tom- Wish I would have taken a pic of it, but it wasn't mint in any way and I was driving too. Not totally rusted out, but surface rust and rust through holes in the usual spots....typical 20+ year old Wisconsin vehicle. Just thought it was a little funny.

I just saw Wisconsin Collector plates on a Plymouth Voyager mini-van the other day! Sure it's gonna be worth boat-loads of $ in the very near future.

Not an actual trade, but a big thanks to HNTR(Mark Wrobo) for his generosity. He sent me a part for a project I'm currently working on.

The most recent AMT '68 Plymouth Roadrunner molded in white from Model Empire. Not that I'm tired of HEMI's, but I may swap in a more common 383 and use some steelies I got from Casey a while back for the base model look.

Got a couple of things from Ebay over the last week. First is a 1973 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400 promo model. Considering the prices of most of these, I stole it. And, I was the only bidder. Also, the only bidder, I got a MPC 1970 Pontiac GTO. Gonna make a Judge out of it if I can find a good donor kit for the chassis and suspension. Finally, and I didn't get it yet, I have a rear T/A spoiler for the Firebird from a member here on the forums on the way.

Was good to see you and Ken again too.

Does anyone cast this '72 GTO spoiler?
The70judgeman replied to Modlguy's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Wish I would have seen this post a lot earlier. Although I do have the GMP 1/18 red '72 GTO with the duck tail. -
Awesome weathering detail.

Love the 928's. And the paint is like liquid....beautiful.

Like Ken said before, it's much more impressive in person. Looked fantastic at the show Kerry!

Got my plans downloaded/printed from the internet and the lumberyard just dropped off my order of lumber needed to build a new garage. OK...I went to Greenfield News & Hobby and bought the basswood "lumber" I need to build a scale garage similar to John Johnston's build in the diorama section. I'm using the same plans, but I'm going to alter them and build a bigger "shop."

And, if you want one...too bad and too late, they're sold out.

Went to Model Empire this morning to buy a Moebius ProStar I saw on the "reduced" rack(had a faded box from storefront display), but of course, my procrastination came into play again. Instead, there was an AMT Transtar 4300 there that I picked up for $22.79...marked down from $30 and change. It's an open box that was taped shut. I got to open the box before purchase to inspect the contents and it was all there still sealed in bags inside. I learned how to drive tractor/trailer in one at my last job(yard truck). Want to try and build it as that truck.

I'm sure it'll be worth the wait, but October for the Pontiac(s)....you guys are killing me!
-
Don't forget the '61 Catalina too. That's two, YES 2, new Pontiac kits. Yeah, I'm a bit of a Pontiac nut.
-
Oh I know about the Ventura! 2-3 kits are on my list of kits to get.
-
@Terry- I believe they are referring to the AMG(Auto Modelers Group) of Wisconsin meeting. The meetings are the 1st Friday every month at the Waterstone Bank, 6560 S. 27th St., in Oak Creek...6:30-9:30 PM. One of these years I'll make it to a meeting myself, but working 2nd shift makes that impossible for me right now.

Awesome looking Poncho! Those 8-lugs really set it off along with the interior. I didn't know AMT did a '61 Bonnie. Now I want one!
-
@John- That's what I thought. Seem to remember he was working on a drag radial. I bought tires from him before....great stuff.

Moebius `65 Plymouth Satellite
The70judgeman replied to FASTBACK340's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Sweet! TWO new Pontiac kits! -
Great looking build John. Where did you get the rear tires?
-
Nothing wrong with curb-side models...especially when they look as gorgeous as that! Beautiful work!
