My Plymouths
JollySipper replied to Tyreman's topic in 1:1 Reference Photos: Auto Shows, Personal vehicles (Cars and Trucks)
Those are two very nice cars! My Dad had a '72 340/auto Road Runner when I was in my teens...... It was red with a white top and interior, with the hood stripes in white. Got to drive it to my highschool graduation! He also had a '73 one, yellow with black stripes. It had a built 340 and 4-speed, would really move! -
You're gonna LOVE having a flat screen tv, if that's what you end up with! I went from a CRT television to this flat one, it made my driving game look so much better........

Feet never get cold around Emmett either, as that's where he usually is while I'm eating...........

That looks like a nice place...............

What did you see on the road today?

Our maintenance guy has been driving a BMW to work lately...... It's a 325i from the mid-nineties....... It has a Bunch of miles on it, but it's a 5-speed with leather interior! 4-door slick top e36......... -
Corner booth is where I'm sittin', feeling kinda long in the tooth....... (From the mad mad ( brilliant? ) mind of Les Claypool...)

Years of life challenges can either shape you into one resilient SOB, or just make you bitter..........

On Napster, you can explore artists similar to your likes......... These guys were listed as similar to the Allman Bros..... I believe their bass player is in this band, too.

I like the color, Michelle..... it looks like Sassy Grass green! Say, have you seen that Rustoleum has clears in different sheens? I believe they make a satin clear...... That might would help liven up your interior some, instead of just flat paint or primer! Just a thought..........

Well, guys, I've had Emmett for a year today! I bought us a New York strip to split this evening........ I know everyone says they have a good dog ( and they are all good! ), but he's 'good' on another level! I think it may be the Pyrenees in him, they have different instincts than most other dogs. I just wish we could meet more people than we have so far, as I worry I may be the only person he ever knows.........

Nice cars are often getting banged up in those chases, especially whatever the bad guy is driving............

Advice needed for speedster build.........
JollySipper replied to JollySipper's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Alan, those of the Ed Roth kits that have a bubble top, most of them have a wrap around molded custom interior like would be needed here............ -
When everyone got the sad news that Mr. Jairus had passed away, there was a tribute post of sorts made, which showcased a bunch of his sketches........ One really caught my attention, a speedster made from what looks like a 1960 Buick. I have a '59 Buick that I would be willing to cut up for this project. My question for you guys, what kit do you guys think would be the best donor for the 'hot rod' parts for this? Something with a custom interior ( maybe an Ed Roth kit? ) would be ideal, I would think...... and maybe having a 'nailhead' engine already? I'm gonna have to do some research on how to get the right proportions out of the body. Here's the sketch that has me inspired.......... I saw the community build thread of his sketches being built into models, but I don't believe this was one being built....... Thanks for any help with this!

'Spirit Animal' is a kindred soul, only in animal form; mine would probably be a raven...........

All you need is motivation and time, Bill, which hopefully will be in abundance once you're retired.........

3 Door Chevelle, Yes 3 DOORS!
JollySipper replied to FoMoCo66's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Boy, that would really confuse one of my neighbors, who thinks she has a two-door because "it has two doors on each side"........... She drives a hatch (5-door)......... -
Perfect pancakes are almost as elusive as the perfect grilled cheese........... ( or paint job! )

My maternal Grand Dad served in WWII..... He made a career of the Army, staying over 20 years. He was Sargent over the motor pool.....

Military modelers bring a different approach to car building........ Being sticklers for correctness kind of gives them a slight 'edge', if you will! This build looks great......

Lucky is something you should never name your pet, as they will end up being very unlucky..........

Well, do ya, punk?

This is looking good! I tried this kit as my first ship model, but failed it...... It did prepare me for my second attempt at a ship, the Captain Kidd ship from Lindberg, which I was able to finish (after about a year working on it)........ Taking a break is good sometimes, gives you a fresh perspective when you go back to it!
