  1. I look at a lot of pics of pre 1965-ish custom cars, and get a bunch of ideas from them.......
  2. That's cool...... and you used semi-gloss on the walls, that means you can wipe down the walls with a wet rag if needed (can't do that to flat paint....)
  3. There's so many versions they could do...... The Dude, the Custom Sport Special (they have the 426 max wedge engine in the Plymouths), a utility bed, etc.....
  4. Yep, and we NEED a '60s era Dodge pickup, too...... There's a bunch of versions that Moebius could do.
  5. This is a busy kit, as in lots of parts...... Looks like you're doing really good with yours. I may just run with the Ford engine so I can build it full-fendered like I want..... Thanks for all the replies, Fellas!
  6. Guys, I have the Revell '32 Ford 5 window coming up as a project. It's a 2n1, you can either build a hiboy with the early hemi, or a full-fendered coupe with a small block Ford...... I'm wondering, what would keep me from being able to put the hemi in the full fender version? I see why it calls for different radius rods, the shorter ones clear the fenders, but I'm not sure about the engines...... Thanks for any help with this......
  7. MMMmmmmm....... Like Button........... How about one of these buttons?
  8. Well, guys.... I had the body painted, but had to strip it unfortunately. The panel lines ended up pretty much buried. So I'm stripping it in Mr. Clean floor cleaner (which is doing an excellent job) so I can scribe the panel lines deeper........ I'll get it straightened out......
  9. I LIKE Clutch! They're like a drunken redneck Primus......... Spacegrass is a really good song. T- minus whenever it feels right.......
  10. You might remember The Verve and "Bitter Sweet Symphony"....... Here's another song by them I just found and like......
  11. I've gotten to where I like to block sand things to get them super smooth. Whether I'm sanding bare plastic or anything else, I use this method...... I simply wrap a 1/4 sheet of sandpaper (this is #2000 wet/dry) around a large artist's eraser. It's flexible enough to conform to the curves of panels, yet firm enough to smooth things out.... Anyway, I thought someone could benefit from this.......
  12. Thank you, Carl! I wanted to show you guys what progress I've made the past couple days...... Got the roof painted! Also got the body ready for it's first primer coat, which I may try to spray tomorrow.... I've removed the badges and "Thunderbird" scripts from the body, and got all the mold lines taken care of...... Thanks for looking, and feel free to comment.......
  13. I have this saying....... "The less people know, the louder they know it".
  14. Anything Bill Stillwagon is always good....... I really like his style. He has a Fotki with a bunch of models on it. Here's one example.......
  15. I'm a big fan of this build..... It's Mr. Guthmiller's Coronet. I hope he doesn't mind if I post a pic of it. I like everything about it....
  16. Thanks a bunch fellas! Today I've been working on getting ready for primer on the body..... I'm really glad you guys are liking it!
  17. Thank you, Mike! The plan for paint will be white with the light blue roof, and maybe/hopefully some tasteful scallops..........
  18. Most of you guys here probably know this kit. It's AMT's Thunderbird for '57. As per my usual style, I'll be building this as a mild custom. So far I've set the ride height and got my wheel choice sorted. I've also began shaving some things from the body as I work on getting it ready for primer. The scoop for the roof came from the '49 Ford coupe, as did the wheels. Here's the start of the interior...... This is my favorite of the Thunderbirds besides the Aerocoupes of the '80s. Feel free to comment and tell me what you think so far......... Thanks for lookin'!
  19. ^^ I remember all of the above that you've mentioned, Randy, especially Darkwing Duck...... That was probably my favorite one. He was a mix of a Batman type character and Inspector Gadget......... How about the BeetleJuice cartoon?
  20. The first car that I was proud to own was an '84 Thunderbird, but mine had the V6...... This was my first car payment that i made myself every week. I got it at a "buy here, pay here" kinda place. It was Blue with a blue vinyl interior. Find a 16 year old now that has a regular job and can make their own payments...
  21. If you have any pets, please keep an eye on them around the nest! When the babies become "fledglings" they will leave the nest, but they won't be able to fly yet. They live on the ground for a while after they leave...... We have a nest of Mockingbirds in a tree by my front door that I worry about, as we have stray cats that hang out here in the complex......
  22. This is just another MS Paint doodle I've been working on......
  23. I think kids that were as exposed to stuff such as cigs and alcohol as that were probably less likely to do such things. To kids that thought smokes and drink were off limits and forbidden, those were now something that piqued their interest. Does that make sense? Like the less of a big deal they are, the less they want to try them........
  24. I remember Exitebike! Gripping side-scrolling action........ Remember Paper Boy? You had to dodge all kinds of obstacles while delivering newspapers. I like it to be pretty quiet while I build, it's while I wait for drying times that I listen to my music.
