  1. I've used it under four paint jobs so far..... haven't tried other paints over it, though, just DupliColor.....
  2. That pictured above is a good primer, but it NEEDS to be sanded to get any kind of smooth finish with it......
  3. I've been getting really good results with this primer, I get it at WalMart..... You can shoot DupliColor Perfect Match paints over it with no problem, and it dries super slick provided you spray it slick. It's what I primed this Porsche with.......
  4. Those would look really good, or chrome reverse with wide whites.....
  5. I've been listening to them on your recommendation...... I had to add "Jammed Entrance" to my favorites....
  6. Tom, man, I love the '59 Buicks! They look customized from the factory........ What's your wheel choice for this one?
  7. If the side trim is perfectly straight, you can cut the foil to width with a straight edge while it's still on the sheet......... Just make it a little longer than needed, then just place it over the trim.
  8. Thanks a whole bunch, Guys........ Right now the trim needs to be done around the windows, maybe that will be the next update for this......
  9. The Revellogram '37 Ford Coupe has a pretty nice small block in 1/24......
  10. Well, I got to painting some stuff...... We've had such nice weather here lately, I thought it a good idea to make use of it. It doesn't look really shiny in the pics, looks better in person. I'm thinking white running boards, definitely a white interior........ I can't use the hood, there's some sort of glue residue or something on it that kept surfacing thru the primer, so we'll say he's running this one without a hood....... Thanks, and comment freely.....
  11. What would you be needing wheels for? I have some different styles.......
  12. I'm just curious as to what you guys think is the most involved part of building for you. Is it research? or maybe engine detail? What steps do you sweat the most to make sure everything is done right? For me it's the painting of the body.... I do my absolute best to have everything clean and slick for the next step in the process. I get pretty good results most of the time, but it's taken some time to learn what to do and not to do...... So, where does most of your attention go when you build?
  13. Carl, you might remember the Thunderbird that I built about a year ago..... This is the same paint (same can, even). It's very close to the Canyon Red that those T Birds came in.
  14. Thanks, James! It's Toreador Red, it's a Ford color in their Perfect Match line...... I also used Perfect Match clear. The humidity isn't too bad here yet, but during the summer it can cause problems with blushing...... I've heard of guys using a dehydrator to help with that, tho........
  15. Thank you, Carl...... The beauty of working with DupliColor, I was able to go ahead and polish it some today....... Thanks a bunch for looking and comment freely........
  16. Pretty high praise, Thank you sir........ The primer was Rustoleum's 2X Ultra Cover in gray, and the paint and clear are DupliColor.......... Sorry I forgot to mention that.
  17. I'm skipping around with my projects..... Finally got a chance to get the 959 in paint. This is two coats of color and two wet coats of clear over gray primer. It's as it came out of the can, still need to wet sand and buff back out....... This will sit a few days before anything else is done to it...... Thanks!
  18. Hey, Guys. I've been looking at a '59 Buick hard top online...... It's molded in blue. I was wondering if anyone of you fellas could tell me what kit it would be, and what is the scale? Thanks............
  19. Thanks for the nice comments, guys...... I wanted to show you how I'm dealing with the hood. I wanted to do something different with this, so I decided to cut the hood sides at an arc..... This first pic shows the template I made so I would have something to follow with the scribing tool that I used. This is the passenger side before cutting.... and This is the driver's side after cutting...... Still need to slice up the interior bucket, then I can most likely get to painting some stuff....... Thanks, and comment freely!
  20. Thank you, Carl man! The hood will have to be cut as well....... I'm thinking of leaving the hood sides open, so all I'll need to do is just remove enough to get things to line back up.... There will be more progress pretty soon!
  21. Thank you, Jim! Bullybeef, all I did was mark a line at the bottom of the lower door hinge and remove what was below it...... I had to trim where the fender unit met the body, too.... It was about 3 scale inches.
  22. I went ahead and painted the engine block for a couple of reasons. I wanted to see how this color would look, and I needed to test to see if spraying the aluminum paint over the orange would prevent bleed-thru....... Looks like it's gonna work. Thanks.........
  23. Cool, I'm glad you guys are liking this...... I plan to try and seal the orange plastic with an aluminum paint, we'll see how well it works! Some more progress. The body and fender pieces have been sanded flat. There were some bad mold lines around the headlight area, so I sanded them down, too... I've also been working on getting rid of the molded in exhaust. I made some panels to hide it in the chassis rails...... I've got a good feeling about this project! Thanks......
  24. I've been wanting to build a '40 Coupe for a while. It worked out where I could get this one in a trade..... So far what I've done is to remove a little from the bottom of the body so it would appear to be sectioned a bit. This is about all that I could lower this without raising the fenders. I've also lowered the suspension front and rear. Wheels and tires are from a 1/24 '56 Thunderbird. Hopefully I'll have more progress tomorrow....... Thanks for looking, and comment freely!
