  1. I finished this today. As the body is too big for my paintbooth I polished the body with micro-gloss............. And a few more pics to come............
  2. OK Michael I'll continue to watch your build with great interest! I've got the Toyota 86 with all the bits plus two extra packs of wide arches (fenders) coming from HLJ. Hopefully I can fit the extra arches to a few Porsche 911's I have on the shelf!
  3. OK William thanks very much.
  4. I sent an email to Replicas & Miniatures about 10 days ago about buying one of these kits and sending to me in the UK but no answer as yet.
  5. I like the idea so................... Is it going to look something like this?
  6. Thanks for putting this on here Greg, I've just looked at the build on the highlighted link, fantastic!
  7. Hi Delfin I've gone a bit newer for my next build, I've ordered the Toyota 86 Greddy & Rocket Bunny Enkai S Package and two extra sets of arches for future builds from HLJ.
  8. Now this looks evil....................and fun in the same breath! Interesting thing is I've just bought a few Brass/PE Kirkey seats from DirtModeler, which I understand are used in this type of vehicle! I shall definitely be watching this thread to the end!
  9. As I had a lot of these around on the day, years ago, the windscreen is too small and the body can be easily modified to sort this. A larger thin piece of acrylic sheet can be cut to add the larger screen.
  10. Superb Carl thanks for sharing!
  11. These look fantastic. Like me you seem to like one or two decals on your models! My BMW GT3 in VDS decals is on this section.
  12. I've just ordered the Toyota 86 Greddy & Rocket Bunny Enkai Version which includes these, also ordered two sets (in 2 packs) of just the wheel arches from HobbyLinkJapan. I remember using something similar years ago. The thing to take into consideration is that time must be taken to 'form' the wings/fenders to fit the body shape exactly before gluing into place, and of course cutting the right amout out of the wheel arch beforehand. Sorry if that sounds childish to mention it that way but there is no offence intended.
  13. Thanks John. I liked the mesh PE sections, shaping them around the back has to be right so takes a little while. The wing uprights are folded then CA glued into the slots provided, once set drop the wing on and CA again and once they are set pop on the end plates. I didn't paint the PE like some do because it looks the part.
  14. Thanks guys. Not bad in two weeks or so.
  15. And those two last pics............... A very good kit that goes together well, with it's own PE in the box. Plus with all the different decals now on offer you can build whichever version you like.
  16. From 'on the workbench, the finished kit.................. An just two more to come...................
  17. See the finished kit 'Under Glass'.
  18. A few pics from today.............. Body on............ Ground effects tunnel on................ Front air-dam with groove cut in. PE front grill mesh lower than bodywork.......... Air-dam fitted................ PE uprights and wing fitted. Wait for ca to set before attaching end plates........... Both towing eyes fitted, this is the rear (obviously!).............. See you tomorrow.
  19. Cheers guys. Rusty 85, not in this case but I've started printing my own decals for Hellaflush models as I can see them on the web and reduce them to fit the models.Like this one which I will use on a rallycar and others............... So if you can find a suitable image you can download it and print it on decal paper, but don't print and sell any! Cheers Paul, although it's only 8.46am here in the UK I was up at 6am to get to Tesco to buy today's veggies,as my wife had to get into work early in our one car. So I've been in the cabin already, attached the front light lenses, and the rear light units and painted the red lenses. and painted the rear brake light that slots in the bootlid. I'm looking at the masking info in the kit, when I've masked the windows before, and tried to get the mask off I've scratched the edge of the paint! So I'll think a bit more about that especially when some need to be painted inside and some outside!
  20. Right today's work on front and rear PE mesh, rear towing arrow, gloss coat, slightly darkening the bright silver as though the body has been in the rain........ And so onto tomorrow, fitting intakes on the sides and under the bonnet
  21. Cheers JT. Yes I feel a lot better seeing that many watchers are happy the way I left the fixed wing section.
  22. Cheers Nacho Z, yes I've just been out to the cabin and attached four PE airvents to the body. 'The Cabin' We had to build one as my stuff was all over the place, and after 40 years of marriage my wife wanted the dining room table back! But we built this 'log' cabin in a week, 5 years ago.
  23. Cheers Carl. a few more decals and small bonnet and bootlid grills (prior to fitting PE grills on top) today................ Decals on the bottom of the doors and small VDS decal on the side of the front wing............. And long decals on either side of the bonnet............... Some more on Monday.
  24. Thanks guys. Ok Kenny, It's decals all the way at present! Yes maltsr, I looked at that one on the web, but couldn't get it the UK at the time. The aftermarket decals are thicker than the norm which can have it's own problems especially over the wheel arches where it has to conform three ways. I also looked at these but the importer could'nt get anymore as the French maker had stopped this one due to lack of sales................ But I can imagine the Good Smile decals were interesting to lay up as well!
