  1. Got mine a couple weeks ago $85 in the US full retail.
  2. If anyone else is going to build the model, here are some detail shots I took of the car last year:
  3. Correct. I even did a spoon test to prove this and show it to club members at our last meeting. Real cars painted in metallics/pearls have a dull finish before clear. It's okay if the paint is reasonably smooth, the clear is what adds the gloss. If you want smooooooth, wetsand the color and then shoot a thinner coat of the same color through an airbrush, then apply clear.
  4. Nice That's the first built kit I have seen of it; a friend of mine has the same kit. I have the builtup version that was offered many years ago; the parts all seem to match between it and the kit. Very unique piece, and I'm glad I've been able to see the 1:1 car at both the Blackhawk Museum and the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance a year ago.
  5. Nope; I was just visiting...Tim Kolankiewicz should have that list.
  6. We missed you for sure! Hope your recovery goes well and quick! Congrats to Trae; the Astrovette is just pure awesome
  7. Here are my shots from the show, fun day! Greater Birmingham Classic 2011
  8. To actually answer your question, yes...Formula 560 is water soluble after it is cured. I found out by accident, had some windows pop out from a body that was washed, then realized it's a great "feature" to remember. If it stays dry, it's almost as strong as epoxy.
  9. You were dreaming. It's a very basic curbside, generic chassis shared w/a Mercedes 190, and a terribly rendered body with a chopped and too-flat roof. I think there may have been some kind of aftermarket resin body made to correct that, but not sure. The Fujimi E30 is a very disappointing kit.
  10. All the ones I saw seemed to be lacking that cover as well. The holes in the top of the intake plenum (for the optional cover) need to be filled.
  11. I'm pretty stoked w/these kits. There could be a bit more detail/information on the lightbars, and perhaps some sorts of antennae, but considering all the parts it already has, and all the variations possible w/aftermarket support, we're just splitting hairs over a few minor issues here and there.
  12. You don't need those pins, they fit rather loose and sloppy...just get some styrene rod or whittle down some sprue to fit. Unless you just have to have the wheels roll when you go "vroom vroom" on the kitchen floor...
  13. That looks fantastic! Nice work!
  14. I despised that thing in photographs, but I have to say, when I saw it in person, I "got it". That happens a lot lately...anything out of the ordinary just doesn't photograph well, but in person they make a lot more sense. In person this thing was really cool. I don't think I've seen any of the originals in person.
  15. It's a neat kit, looking forward to seeing your work on it. I don't remember having any problems building it, and you really don't need to add brass to the thin pillar; the body is very strong. I spent an entire evening doing the very fine BMF work around the windows. One of my favorite models of all time Photo of built kit
  16. Looks great. I can vouch for the perfect paint job on this GTO, seeing it in person is amazing. I would never expect the Krylon to look so perfect I'll be trying it out soon.
  17. Thanks to all who shared photos, looks like fun! John, your T-bird blows me away! WOW Is that Alclad you used for the finish?
  18. Invert the bottle into a shallow cup of hot water, the heat from the water will expand the cap making it much easier to remove...after you dry off the moisture.
  19. This is what I want to build:
  20. I got the diecast Charger police car as in insurance policy vs. the plastic kit. Now that it is no longer needed as such I can use the parts on another 1/24 police subject...the Revell "Uptown" Magnum kit. Baseline (non-SRT) Magnum kit. Fix doors in place, add door handles, put all the parts in a box and shake hard...and perhaps I'll have a decent Magnum police car
  21. Those SRT-8 Superbee wheels are hideously undersized. Guess they only tooled one size tire-18". The middle wheels do not represent alloys. The police cruisers have silver plastic wheelcovers that go over steel wheels Obviously for ease of kit manufacture, the wheels are designed like alloys. Hope to see lots of variations of these kits built..marked cruisers, unmarked cars, detective cars, baseline cars...
  22. Thanks; their PT Cruiser CV snap kit has an uptop, and I'm one of those guys that likes the option to display a convertible w/the top up when I want
  23. Perhaps he drank two jugs ahead of that post, if that's the case
  24. Thanks for the photos! Does the convertible snap kit offer an uptop option?
  25. Well, partly because the 5.0 engine looks 10,000,000 times better underhood, perhaps? Or that the 2011+ wheels might look better? Let's face it...the 2010 Mustang is kind of a dog, an in-betweener with a new body but old engines. The 2011's across the board are big improvements. Model enthusiasts like those facts too, y'know? A model is a dream in a box...why can't the dream be of a brand-new car, not a used one? I'm sure the model will be updated at some point. I'll buy one of each, but definitely would rather have the latest and greatest since 2012 Mustang GT's can be bought at a dealership when the 2010 Mustang kit hits the shelves. 2010 Mustangs were a brief snapshot in time...for good reason. In fact, makes me wonder why the convertible has to be a 2010. Without the motor, can't they slap some 5.0 decals in it, and include the newer wheel styles? They do look excellent. Now, how 'bout some Boss 302 or Shelby love?
