  1. A Monogram 1/32 scale '34 Ford snapper I bought by mistake...though it might get built to accompany some 1/32 scale warbirds someday.
  2. Looks GOOD. More info please.
  3. The Revell 2009 Challenger has a nice one. The Magnum wagon has one too, but when they scaled it, somehow they managed to make it a lot longer than the (should be) identical engine in the Challenger.
  4. For walking, there's a nice big office park two blocks from my house that's pretty much deserted on weekends. It's dotted with large stands of pines and hardwoods, coupla lakes with year-round geese, ducks, turtles, fish, and a fairly regular solitary great blue heron. When I want to actually hike, there's Kennesaw Mtn., about 5 miles away, with over 17 miles of trails, some of them pretty rugged. When I was younger, I used to stay in shape hiking at Kennesaw at least every other day after work, and miles on the weekends. Now it's pretty crowded unless you get there at dawn...and I prefer my woods as quiet as possible.
  5. Hmmmmmm...The old Revell Pontiac parts-pack has what look like Rochester 2G carbs, 3 of 'em. Not anywhere near as good as Fireball's carbs, but should do, depending on how close you want to get to perfection.
  6. I can't swear to it, but I THINK the carbs made by R&M are Strombergs. For a GM tri-power setup you're probably going to want Rochester 2G carbs, and I don't know of any resin versions right off hand. Fireball makes some beautiful Holley 2-barrels, but they won't pass for Rochesters.
  7. Grilled pastrami & Swiss on pump, + a bowl o' split pea soup w/sherry.
  8. Thanks for the part #. I need a couple too.
  9. I was able to go for a 3-hour walk with only 2 aspirin's-worth of pain. It's been slow coming back after I cracked my pelvis last summer, but sitting idle and accepting being semi-crippled didn't sound too appealing. Still working off the lard I packed on while I was semi-immobile. It takes time, much more time for an old fossil than for a young whippersnapper, but it's worth it in the end. Far, far better to be a fit old man than a fat old man.
  10. There were even a few that looked more like real cars, with the headlights integrated into the fenders. I could see one of these with a Hayabusa in it.
  11. Hey...the cat found me. What can I say?
  12. Buncha stuff followed me home from the Southern Nats last weekend...goodies from R&M, Fireball, HRM, Clearly Scale, Futureattraction, Scale Production and Pegasus...and a lot of spur-of-the moment stuff that just called to me "buy me...buy me...": a green brush-painted 1/24 Monogram Chaparral for a dollar, a complete "1997 Dodge concept car" in a bag (Copperhead...cause i'd wanted one to hack into something else), and a great deal on an AMT Mack R685ST. Also picked up smokin' end-of-show-we-don't-want-to-take-them-home deals on 1/24 Revell and Fujimi 427 SC Cobras, a Fujimi 246 Dino, and an Ecto-1A just for grins. Last, a couple of sealed and cheap AMT '90 Corvette ZR-1 kits to start pre-engineering on what just might be a full scale build...but that's another story entirely.
  13. SACRILEGE !!! Seriously, if a 911 doesn't sound like a 911, I kinda miss the point. Years ago, when I first got the Spyder, a fella here wanted me to build him an electric one. And a company I work with now wants me to do a 120 Jag-Tesla swap. Nah. My heart just ain't in turning real cars into golf carts.
  14. Yeah, I took the parts out and had a look. I'd really like to start on it, but it's going to be a lot easier to move, like most everything else, non-started, still in the original box. I hope you'll post some build pix up in "everything else".
  15. Absolutely. I fed him with an eye-dropper in the beginning, all the other less-pleasant things momcat usually does. I bonded with him, he bonded with me. He follows me around the house and yard, comes when I call, seems to learn pretty quick what's verboten...like the model bench or kitchen counter-top...etc. Need to take him in for his next round of shots. Yup...he's my furry friend. I wouldn't leave him with somebody else.
  16. Yes sir; just bought the bubbletop version.
  17. I'm kinda partial to the old AMT Willys pickup as a starting point.
  18. Lotsa interesting stuff going on here. Looking forward to seeing her come together.
  19. It should really be interesting to see this done with the more-correct proportions of the Revell body. Great idea. One thing about the box-art illustration...the body itself doesn't have the heavy sectioning job at the firewall end like the AMT kit body does, so I expect your rendition to be a good match there.
  20. Isn't that six one-barrels?
  21. Oh man...an F4U-4 definitely. Spits and Mustangs are gorgeous airplanes, but my favorite Allied warbirds are Corsairs and Jugs for some reason. I don't have any display space here, but the new place out West has room, finally, for everything. There are significant upsides to being family-free.
  22. More info on "soft" tooling for injection molding...tremendous cost savings can be achieved, especially for short runs and in conjunction with 3D printing.
  23. That's a good point, and with the accuracy of scaling down to 1/25 being what is is, the 348 tri-power manifold may very well fit your Revell parts-pack SBC. I have both kits in stock. I'll have a look.
