  1. Wow! What a gorgeous build......
  2. Looks great! You got me fired up to start mine!
  3. The attention to detail and realism in the execution is fantastic! Keep up the good work
  4. I know that it's a little premature to throw in the towel, but it's unlikely that I'll start/finish another Rat Rod before this thing is done. Sure had a lot of fun and I will definitely continue to build jalopies/bangers/and Rat Rods. Wish the rest of you the best of luck on your projects. I want to see more pictures before the time is up! SC
  5. lol - yeah, my kit is putting up a good fight. I want to have opening doors, but a little dab of CA glue is tempting! Might be worth it just to avoid the frustration. Seems like there is a good reason why you don't see many of these with functioning doors and hood. Again - good work on your build. Thanks for the inspiration to finish my stuff.
  6. Another great build! The Revell Tudor is one of my favorite kits. Just a shame about the firewall on these - it makes it look toy-ish on an otherwise fantastic kit. Like you, I lust after the 1:1.
  7. Nicely done! Since I have one "on the bench" also, got to ask: did you glue the doors shut, or are they functional?
  8. Regardless of where you started, you finished with a pretty sweet rig! Nice work
  9. Yeah-I've been on the hunt for Zoomies too. Short of buying a kit just for the headers, there aren't many cost effective solutions. The Parts Box in Australia comes to mind, but they look like they are intended for a Buick nail head.
  10. Neat kitbash. Don't recall the actual weight, but the J-bodies felt like a heavier car than the Civic & Integras that the B series was made for. A small group of J body enthusiast used to swap late gen Grand Am GT engines in place of the tired 2.8 V6. Some with fabrication skills used to swap in supercharged 3.8V6 from the Grand Prix GTP. The 4cyl engines were boat anchors, but would last forever. I had a '93 Cavalier Z24 with the rare V6+5 spd manual. Did the Grand Am GT swap. Tame by today's standards, but what a sleeper back in the late '90's. Yet another reason why I like this forum & hobby-one is only limited by the imagination.
  11. Great looking Caddy! While everyone pointed out the CD player - I'm going to ask about the iPhone on the seat. Did you make that? Never seen such a scaled down version before. I'm guesing the CD player is a Detail Master set?
  12. Nice looking Cobra. One of my favorite details is how well you subtly weathered the side pipes for heat sink/discoloration. Looks perfect!
  13. Very nice execution!
  14. Love the direction the ‘ole ’32 is heading in. Also admire the skills of those builders who can create this stuff from brass. Hey make it look so easy….
  15. Gerry/Casey - you both have been a great help. Although the links, pictures and reviews of the Revell of Germany kits apear to have a more comlete decal sheet that the old North American issue, all indications are the same kit otherwise. @‌ Casey - one last question! If its not too much trouble, can you compare the rear deck lid between the '95 issue and the Tamiya? Specifically, I'm curious about the opening for the rear grill (for a lack of a better term). If they are similar dimensions, I'm going to order the PE set from HLJ for my future build! Thanks - SC
  16. So this build is really giving you the gears?? Sorry-couldn't resist!
  17. Guess what I'm looking for is how the quality compares between the Tamiya and Revell kits. I'm looking to give this kit another try and add some detail this time around. My skills have improved over the years (hopeully) and I want to build somethign out of the norm for me. Have seen some PE parts on HLJ that are made for the Tamiya kit - curious to see if the aftermarket stuff will fit on the Revell version without much fuss. Not like that will stop me lol.
  18. I like these two sugestions VERY much! Another theme that I like is building a "Sleeper", but I know that's been done recently.
  19. Just purchased this bad boy from eBay: I was feeling nostalgic over the kit that was gifted to me back when I was 13. My skills were very modest back then, but I remember that I was able to turn out a half decent build out of it. With that said, I wasn't able to find much reviews/feedback on this kit. Any one have any feedback to give while I wait for Canada Post to deliver my most recent purchase? Also, I noticed that the Tamiya version of the F50 is also 1:24 scale. Its been my impression that the Japanese manufactures tend to lean towards the 1:25 side. Are there any family ties or relationship between the Tamiya kits, Revell of Germany, and the old '95 Revell/Monogram? I would have preferred to build either the Tamiya or Revell of Germany versions, but the price kind of drove me to look for the "vintage" '95 issue. Look forward to your feedback!
  20. I like where this is going!
  21. Very impressive!
  22. That is such a great looking engine - real nice work!
  23. Really like the modern 4x4/off road parts you’re throwing on that ‘ole Bronco JT. Can’t wait to see the final product.
  24. Some great advise here! If you look at the hood in my 'Cuda dio (propped up on the fence), you'll notice that it is "aged", but not rusted. That's because the 1:1 '70 'Cuda AAR hood was fiberglass!
