  1. Scenes Unlimited made a set, I don't if the new owner has continued making them.
  2. As others have said, every manufacturer has great kits and duds. Another thing to consider beyond manufacturer is that all the companies have kits of varying ages. Some tools are new and other have been kicking around since the car was new, and even some new tools have been... lacking I guess. The best way to know what you're getting is to read reviews here and videos on YouTube.
  3. Two is the usual, three is the max these days. This gives me flexibility if one step gets stalled on a build but not enough options to never come back to a project. If I get too many things things going at once I never finish anything and jump from kit to kit.
  4. I hope they do revisit his one eventually, and 27 turtle deck body, a track nose, and a flathead would be a neat variation for that tool.
  5. The tooling seems pretty modular, longer frame rails and another body would let them reuse the majority of the kit. It seems purposely designed to allow them to swap some trees around and produce different vehicles.
  6. The thing I want most is a Suburban, then a long bed 4x4 pickup.
  7. I had one over 20 years ago and it was nice. The body kit is also optional so it can be built with a stock body if you want. I can't remember if it has the stock bumper in this version or not.
  8. As I've gotten older my time is more valuable to me. If something is easily replaceable it might be a better use of your time to just start over. Especially since that looks like the MPC kit.
  9. I have a chisel that's about 1/8" wide that I use to remove things like that or pin marks. I then hit it with liquid glue and said it smooth or slightly below the surface and putty over it.
  10. Youre not wrong, those might be the most versatile wheel ever.
  11. I bought a cheap pack of a dozen from Amazon. They're not the best quality but I don't have to care about them if I get paint or glue on them. They're made out of thin T shirt material.
  12. Whether to clear or not depends on the type of finish you're going for. It doesn't look quite right on period 40s, 50s, or 60s cars, especially for stock paint. Letting the paint get good and cured helps and I have started wearing a thin cotton glove on one hand when I'm foiling and detail paining. I don't know which type of foil you've got but Bare Metal Foil sticks far better to glossy surfaces than flat.
  13. I'm calling this one done. It's an early T1 van with a 74 Carrera RS engine. I stole as many parts as I could from the Revell van kit. It's built in the spirit of the Transcon Medivac van, a coast to coast bratwurst delivery service.
  14. The funnest part for me is coming up with the initial idea and parts acquisition. Over half of my few hundred kits have all the parts I want to use in the box waiting on me to find the time to actually assemble it. If I could ever find a way to decrease my build time without sacrificing quality I could really make a dent in the stash. Another part is enjoy is building the bare plastic and scratch building. Really, everything up to paint is fun for me. Once it's painted the slog of actually finishing it starts.
  15. I bought a sealed Street Fighter 2 and the body is pretty warped. I've got plenty to trade or we can work something out.
  16. The hard top was just out three or four years ago, I built one from the then current issue.
  17. Fujimi and Aoshima offer a lot of tuner cars and wild body kits. There are also 3d printed body kits available to fit some American cars. Ebay is a great place see whats available and spend a lot of money.
  18. The Fujimi Enthusiast Coutach kits are like that. They're very intimidating when you see all the details and tiny parts
  19. That kit has been out recently under the Lindberg brand so replacements shouldn't be hard to find. I don't know of any other tires that will for hose rims though.
  20. I agree, the only kit that really gets the profile on the sides of the body on this generation right is the AMT kit of the 92 body style. I was someone would do a good kit of a bullnose, especially with the later grille.
  21. FYI, the snap 63 and full detail 67 don't exactly fit together either. The snap kits wheelbase is about 2mm longer than than the 67 so fitting them to8will take some tweaking.
  22. The tires are pretty close to the size of the big hollow AMT slicks. Tires from a stock car kit are a bit smaller in height and width.
  23. Tamiya makes an RAF green that's pretty close to that. It would do in a pinch anyway.
