Jo-Han '55 Pontiac and Olds parts
gtx6970 replied to Bucky's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
neither one are particularly easiy to find parts for. my only advice is watch the ebay sellers who specilaize in old model parts , you might get lucky. I have the Pontiac I believe for a someday project but no extra parts -

Why is NHRA Pro Stock an all-Camaro class?
gtx6970 replied to LDO's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
pro stock lost me when they put more emphasis on Pro and less on Stock I'll take Super Stock ( especially SS/AA ,,or its modern derivative of SS/AH ) over any other class -
The mother load...........

Dealing with something like this on top of a death . I can only image the issues they are dealing with. That's why I am trying to thin my stash down considerably now. I just turned 60 and am well aware the end is much closer than the beginning. ( hopefully not so much closer ) I have all my old annuals in spreadsheet in the computer with when and how much I paid . Although I'm sure the amount invested has nothing to do with the amount they will sell for at that time . Family has already said they will keep any and all done builds I have . All unbuilts and builders will go away,,, In one lump sum most likely. And I doubt the amount they sell for will be a factor and/or concern. -

Resin 4 door 1962 Ford Galaxie ?
gtx6970 replied to cobraman's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Wasn't missing link doing an early 60s Ford 4 door? or am I thinking of something / someone else ? -
For me its the overall theme or pkg so to speak. Has to have stance, the right colors . I usually build replica drag cars or vintage muscle cars. tossed in with my vintage annuals And even though this one replicates nothing but coolness in my mind. It this one just clicks my buttons. Its not my best or most detailed work by a long shot. But if I have to pick just one thats clicks for me its this sock it to me vette build.

Not here yet, but is enroute. Threw a bid on this one thinking for sure I would get outbid. BUT,,, ,,a few hours later I get the email says I won. No idea how that happened. Even has me a little scared its gonna show up a compete turd. iI it does ,, so be it but for the price I cant complain. Complete with the uncut hood, stock front seats . Everything except stock wheel covers ( which I happen to have on hand should I feel the need to go stock) I already have one nice builder of this ,,,, so not 100% sure what the plans for this one will be

Fred Cady Decals remaining inventory
gtx6970 replied to Exotics_Builder's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
So, the way I understand this. Send him a self address envelope, he sends it back with what remains. You make your selection , mail him another self address envelope in hopes no one else bought the ones you wanted?????? -

gtx6970 replied to OldTrucker's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)

What did you see on the road today?
gtx6970 replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Not something one usually sees , let alone in an Autozone parking lot of all places. Car was there yesterday afternoon which what I assume was a bent rim and/or bad tire ( tire was marked with blue tape on the sidewall ) I'm pretty sure it was one of these, ( I dont know exotics very well ,,,,,plus didnt have my camera or phone on me ) -

Actually seen this one a few times around here in Sahurita Az. 1965 GTO convertible And it was a 4 spd -
Well. I have them to loan.... should you want to try your hand at resin casting. I thought about removing the seats belt myself ......when the time comes someday. I just want my originals back. One of mine was missing the seats and the hood when I bought it. And and I got lucky and got a set of original seats from Ron Hamilton....for no charge. I owe him bigtime for that. The hood I found in a mixed lot of parts on ebay for next to nothing. Kept the coronet hood and dropped the rest in the trash ( everything else was damaged broken junk btw ) I will make that offer to only a few reputable casters....but not all
-
Tone the gold color down and you may be on to something. Nos originals had a coating on them that had a slight gold tint.... and I do mean VERY slight tint
-
For some reason. The 2 front seats and the hood are easily the hardest parts to find.
