  1. I have one kit that will remain sealed inside. (Barry Setzer Vega aa/fc) All others are fair game. I bought a mint unbuilt original issue1959 Edsel conv. ......promptly built it.
  2. I have a few of the automatics from the revell thunderbolt. Yours for the asking if you need them But i dont think they are a C4
  3. As far as I know , the type of chassis / or chassis mods depends A LOT on manufacturer. This is the original Petty Bird, sans exterior sheet metal and paint As you can see its a heavily modified / re-enforced factory floor pan and a shop built front suspension/stub frame setup
  4. The original AFX cars were a 2 door hardtop body yet had the front doors from the 2 door sedan instead ( no vent wing frames ) Im pretty sure The door glass is one piece , raised and lowered by an impromptu seat belt used as a lift strap and it snaps in position once the glass is fully raised , AKA less weight Then again, this is the Dick Landy 1965 and it has no straps, so maybe the door glass is fixed in the up position
  5. Early model year Omnis and Horizons had the 1.7 VW motor as base powerplant. And as an FYI not all Shelby Chargers were turbo cars
  6. But the way I understand it the 'kits ' prior to 1958 were un-assembled acetate promos Someone correct me if Im wrong but have always been under the assumption 1958 was the 1st year of the modern stryene plastic kits
  7. Ive used the windshield frame and the top boot from the 69 GTX kit on an mpc coronet with zero mods to lower rear glass area of body. Came out good.
  8. I have always thought the Nova was better car. The J2000 just was to small to me and didnt look right in person. Big question here is,,,,,,Where are all 3 of them today. I heard he still owns the Nova but not sure of the J2000 or that orbiter thing I always thought the Math Hays T -Bird was better proportioned and better looking. Just read a little while back He had sold the T-bird, but has since bought it back
  9. 1969 Charger reds would be either R4 or R6 ,with R6 being the darker of the 2
  10. Ive built about 6 of these. And not one do I have hood fit issues
  11. Missing the hood I assume ?
  12. Very nice. Probably one of ...if not the best looking flopper of the period. Bar none. Ive got a built Mpc version of this car . A few builders and one that will remain unbuilt as ling as i own it. I built this car back when the kit was new. So it holds a special place in my case.
  13. Steve, yes the gold cars are a little unusual to find. I think they were called Tiger Gold if memory serves me right. Not the easiest to find, but not impossible either. Im sure color played a part in sales price ( when it comes to promos color plays a BIG part in final value ) . But even at that $200 or more is more than that car was worth. so the seller did great ,. Hopefully buyer is happy with the purchase. Being familiar with dealer promos I would have said $100 was all that car was worth. Then again,,,,maybe the buyer needed that color and that color only to fill a hole in a collection and didnt want to pay up for a mint car. Odds are we will never know
  14. The ones on the right are the ones I was referring to. They are curbside but make for a nice shelf piece. I need to get me one of them again someday here soon
  15. Revell had /does have one as well. Not sure what year/ model it represents. But isnt a bad kit at all on the shelf
  16. Meaning YOU sold it and got $200 for it? If so, based on what I see, YOU did extremely well.
  17. Exhaust was a SS class rule. Not required on the AFX class cars ,,,also,,,keep in mind the AFX class cars were relegated to match race cars pretty quickly after introduction
  18. Im pretty sure they had carpeting , But no jute backing on it. As far as the Mule having red interior ,,,I'm not sure. But Ive heard that before But in this pic , it sure looks like red to me Found it here https://www.facebook.com/groups/462920647242203/
  19. Just about any complete kit I send out cost me about $11 or $12 , just sent 2 kits in one box from AZ to NC , cost me $20 even priorty
  20. If you have the measurements on the revell hood. I have a johan hood I can measure I sold my revell kit a few years ago
  21. I know for a fact the grills dont interchange, so its not likely the hood will either the Revell grille was a good bit larger than the Johan
  22. Well... If you happen to decide its not for you. Pm me.....one of those is on my want list I have 62 and 64 dodge conv. Plus 2 of the 63 hardtops . As well as 64 Plymouth....still need a clean 63 Fury convertible as well
