gtx6970 replied to stavanzer's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
To funny, Wasnt a Vette made in '62 that stood any kind of chance against a 62 Dodge Max wedge. UNLESS it hard a sharp corner at the end. -
Several years ago. I saw one done in black with a Gold vinyl top and gold lettering. That car looked AMAZING. Black wasnt an avail color but sure should have been As just an fyi. Petty blue wasnt an avail color when birds were 1st introduced. That came later during the production run.

That intake was NOT avail in a 1962 Dodge Dart, period. That was full size Mopar cars ONLY Might have come in the Kits, but that intake was long gone by 1967 in ANY body style Mopar. I think 1962, ( maybe 1963 ) was the last year avail -
GTX question for the Mopar guys
gtx6970 replied to br67's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The wheels on the orange car were not even avail on a mopar past the 68 model year ( those were 67 - 68 only ) options avail were A - 14" road wheels , these had a satin finish trim ring B - steel wheels with either the beanie hubcaps or full wheel covers. 14" wheels could have been had with white wall or raised white letter tires ( red line tires were NOT an option on 1970 vehicles ) EDIT, the full wheel covers were 14" wheels only. Beanie hubcaps were avail on both 14" and 15" wheels If 15" steel wheels were ordered they got the beanie hubcap only and F60-15 raised white letter tires only. Just a little tidbit of info. In the 1/1 car world the 15x7 steel wheels are highly sought after and bring some serious money. ( like $500 or more for EACH wheel money depending on date code ) or C - the rallyes you show above, these were avail in either a 14" or 15" version PSS. the ONLY correct 1970 Plymouth beanie hubcap shown -

PS, 1962 is the ONLY year it was a 413. 1963 and early model year 1964 it was a 426. Mid year 1964 the Max Wedge was replaced by the Race Hemi 426 Either way. Whats not to love.. The Ultimate ZoomZoom,,,,,,,, imo -

1962 Dodge ( and Plymouth ) 413 Max wedge: Only difference between Dodge versus Plymouth is the decal on the valve cover Dodge "Ramcharger 413" 413 cubic inches 410 horsepower (11.0:1 compression) or 420 horsepower (13.5:1 compression) Plymouth "Super Stock 413" 413 cubic inches 410 horsepower (11.0:1 compression) or 420 horsepower (13.5:1 compression -
Dyno Don Interior colors ?
gtx6970 replied to BubbaBrown's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
My money is on red Anyone able to blow this up to be read for avail interior colors ? -
Are you planning to replicate any particular car, or just a street car maybe a little inspiration for you.
-
Just an fyi, I think the chassis is different between the Lindberg 64 Plymouth versus the 64 Dodge. I know for a fact the interior is different . even though they look the same until you put them side by side. , I want to say one is wider than the other ( learned this the hard way )

I personally don't think its a fool proof replacement for BMF. But it sure has its place. I'll still use BMF for side trim , small emblems and such ( pre paint method btw ) To me the best use for the pen is hubcaps , dash bezels,,, steering wheel horn rings, interior trim such as window cranks and door handles ,etc . maybe even small touch ups on bumpers and grills. But don't think I would use one to do an entire bumper as example. To me it doesn't lay down smooth enough for that . and from experience if you handle it , it WILL dull and/or leave fingerprints ( trust me ) I did this car maybe 2 years ago now, as more of a test than anything to see if I could A - do it ,,,,,,and..... B - how long it takes compared to BMF work on window trim. To do all the window trim takes me probably close to 2 hours alone. I think I had all the window trim done in under 5 minutes with the pen. And once done i sat it aside for a few days and even then handled it very carefully just in case to do final assy of the car. There is no clear of any kind on the chrome. ALL the window trim ( front , rear and side openings ) is the pen. ( the long body side trim MIGHT be on this one ,,but dont want to say for sure ) Keep in mind, I don't handle mine. Once I finish one in the case it goes and 99% of the time it never comes back out. That said, We recently moved across country. And I had every build wrapped in bubble wrap and boxed up to make the trip. I found it and dug it out today . Just for a look see Now that its back out it still looks the same as the day I finished this car . EDIT, Just remembered. The steel wheels on this one is 100% the pen. Used the mid size version one touched it to the wheel and basically just let it flow

gtx6970 replied to Brutalform's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Looking REAL good bro -
As a general rule. Unless its a vintage drag car. 90% of what I build is convertibles
-
With that kind of history. No way would i rebuild it.
-
I have both. Problem is. They're packed away due to a move. No idea where they are at the moment
-
Simple paint in a flat color corresponding with the interior color of choice. I don't do contests . So mine just have to please me and me alone

Pm me, I have a spare 64 that needs some work
