Nice start so far.
I was a big fan of the show back then ( as was most any young boy ) and have given some serious thoughts to seek out one of these kits from time to time.
BUT, ive never done weathered build like this ,,,,,so I think maybe not
Good idea.
I for one would be interested in primarily exterior mirrors for the big 3 makers , primarily late 50s to early 60s cars
Most of the old annuals all have the same basic generic outside mirror
Well, after nearly a year since buying ANYTHING model car related.
I pulled the trigger on one of these today as well as the Beswick version. No interest in a stock version.
wasn't 100% sure, ( dont have one on hand ) the only 72 and later challenger kit I have is a builder Landy car .
74 annual is the only one to have the 360 four barrel hood name pletes
Hood is the main difference.
360 is 1974 only.
Pretty sure interior seat pattern is different .
Im pretty sure 1974 is the 1st year the Challenger script on the rear quarter versus on the front fender for other years
Ive been watching for a clean 65 Fury conv for a while now.
Getting one for under 150 is tough.
So I've started watching for a distressed promo as well / instead.
Ive seen this very trick done by the NASCAR guys as brake ducts. They looked VERY convincing.
Maybe put some stryene rod inside the spring to help retain shape then heat strink.
Been thinking about this very subject a lot lately.
I had asked the wife and 2 daughters a few years back what they would do with all my junk. in the event some major happened to me. All 3 quickly replied keep any/all builts. The remains would go away....just exactly how to do that they were unsure . So I need to really think about this. As I REALLY don't want this burden on my family when the time comes
So I am giving some very serious thoughts to sell out any and all of what I call modern kits ( produced in the past 25-30 years )
Even it that means fire sale prices and then concentrate on my old annuals and drag car builds. Even if I did maybe 2 or 3 a year I figure Ive got enough to last me maybe 20 years ,,,maybe more.
I'm staring right down the barrel of retirement in about 4 years . PLUS we are planning too buy a 1/1 car this fall so model bench time will become limited more and more time goes forward. And the older I get I honestly think I'll become less and less interested in building. In all honesty I already look for clean builds now of something I don't have completed. With thoughts to then sell the builders / unbuilts I have here
Ive used fine sand paper with the adhesive back . use a hole punch to make some small 'pads' so to speak. stick them on a pencil eraser and have at it.
Very nice. I used to work at a shop that was building a replica of one . last I saw the drive train and suspension was done.,Using all correct period Ferrari pieces most of the body was completed ( all hand fabricated aluminum )
Cars owner ran out of money so the car sat in storage for a bit . then the shops owner passed away and closed up just a couple years ago. So i often wonder what ever happened to the project
Car was being done at a shop called C.Cook Enterprises in Erlanger KY should anyone know where it ended up
The Baja Bandito. is something from my past so thats a maybe. The AAR is most diffidently , one for sure , Maybe more if the flared fenders are fixed
The 57 Gasser Ford is kinda neat. just not my style
the rest,,,meh
