I built a couple of the Peterbuilt 359s and don't remember any issues going together. such as = https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-1970s-AMT-Peterbilt-359-California-Hauler-plastic-model-kit-unopened/254187362351?epid=1601429384&hash=item3b2ebf582f:g:IBUAAOSwJ8hcpKT1:sc:USPSPriority!85641!US!-1 I would actually like to find one of these, but I'm not interested in paying this kind of money for one. -

gtx6970 replied to JollySipper's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
When ever I look at some of these wild one off show cars. I wonder. What ever happened to a lot of them. I know several have survived from back then ,,,,but this as an example I've seen or heard of before makes me think its gone edit, just used google and found out this particular car was done in the 1975-76 time frame. and went thru a couple changes . but still exists . residing in the Daryl Starbird museum in Kansas -
Just an fyi, you are correct. the cross ram intake was never avail in a 1965 Fury. although the 426 wedge was it was single 4 barrel only
-
The 426 max wedge was not avail in 1965 , 1965 was hemi only.

Nice, I have an MPC 1968 Coronet I plan to use to build his 1968 Coronet R/T for myself. I think I have a spare MPC 69 hardtop, If I do I might build that one as well I already have his 1965 Coronet AFX car in scale . And the body painted and decaled for his 1964 Dodge 2 door sedan My ultimate plan is replicate this actual picture only in 1/25th scale
-
Thought I would ask here. Anyone know if the decals to do Any version of Bucky Hess's 1968 Cuda are or were produced. ? If so where can I find them ?

What are YOUR favorite old kits ?
gtx6970 replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Same here and Ive got just about all of the original annuals between 1958 and 1964 with just a few holes to fill in But if I have to narrow it down a bit . It would be REALLY close race between my Johan 1969 GTX and my MPC Barry Setzer Vega AA/FC -
Looks pretty good from my seat. I built this very car a long time ago. Been thinking I need to try one again. I built the Badman version last year and loved it

64 Dodge 330 question.
gtx6970 replied to Brutalform's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
As a general rule , And as far as Mopar produced ? Yes. 1 head light per side, and the wider flatter hood scoop Keep in mind ,,, back then privateers used a lot of the same tricks the big 3 used. So its not 100% out the question you might find a single head light grille in a wedge powered car in vintage pictures . So keep that in mind. There are several pictures out there of a particular Golden Commands car. At least ONE of there race cars back then started life as and per the VIN # is/was a Max wedge car then evolved into a hemi car -
Where is the best place to get both of the AFX comets in one swoop ? best i've found on ebay was nearly $100 with postage for the 2, at that $ I'll do without them

64 Dodge 330 question.

No inner headlamps is a Race Hemi thing ( Race Hemi started mid 1964 , then all of 1965 only,, early 64 was still Max wedge ) Had nothing to do with lightweight or not. As some Max wedge cars were lightweights and had stock grill / head lamps ps, Light weights from Mopar in 1963 and 64 carried aluminum front end. ( there were other parts that were aluminum as well ) 1965 was acid dipped sheet metal . A company called Amblewagon assembled the initial 1965 AFX cars ,,,, I think its 12 or maybe 13 cars ,,, these car had fiberglass for the bolt on body components . As a side note ALL of them were 2 door hardtops btw . AND, I think only 3 still exist , last I heard at least one of the said 3 its legitimacy is questionable. One of them is well documented to be the actual car its advertised to be ( the Landy car ) The sedan body style AFX cars were privateer builds and found to be stiffer thus better cars in most racers minds. -
The 2 door hardtop kit has the 1965 Plymouth Satellite interior trim ( 1965 Belvedere shown here for reference ) 1965 Plymouth Satellite were all bucket seats Where as all the A990 cars had this interior. All were Bostrom style bucket seats from the A100 pickup line sit on fixed aluminum seat risers , NO back seat , very plain interior door trim panels, with no arm rests , They were all sedans so fixed rear widows , the carpet with no jute padding on the backside ( think weights savings ) Pretty much about the only option avail on the A990 pkg was auto or 4 spd. I'm pretty certain the only exterior colors avail were Red, White or Black As an FYI, I 'think' they were all champagne gold interior color . Although Ive seen some red so cant 100% confim one way or the other on this tidbit .
