1971 Dodge Demon, Round 2 looking into doing a release?
gtx6970 replied to GMP440's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I'm lucky I guess. I have a decent builder ( have had it for years ) I've no real interest in a resin version ( sorry not a resin fan ) I've toyed with the idea to sell it off every now and then , but then I come to my senses and put it back in the pile -
Very nice. I had this car all planned out to do , but had issues with the Cady decals while doing the Gold version. So i shelved it and have yet to get back to it ( maybe someday soon I hope ) Ive got six on them done myself and decals to do maybe 4 or 5 more

Modelhaus End Of Business Sale
gtx6970 replied to Againmikewins's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Well, I tried to get a few needed items. And a couple of pieces I wouldn't mind having as spares ( Johan 70 GTX grille as example ) might need at some point ,,,, But not MUST haves. Tried to ck out and most of it vanished from my list . I tried a few times over the course of a maybe 5 minutes. And kept getting same errors code I finally gave up and emptied my cart and forgot about it. -

edit, the one with the loop goes to the front. loop mounts on the drivers side. And I think to the top ( not sure on the detail ) its the attaching point for the radius rod on the front axle ,,,hopefully you can make it out in this pic -

Biggest thing for me is when I got away from massive amounts of detail. Ive had models take over a year to build. And at my age now, that is simply not an option anymore if I want to make any kind of mark on my pile. I try my best to make them look VERY presentable in my case . I don't do contests so the only one I have to please is me As far as paint choices, I 'll use what ever brand has the color I am after. Testors , Tamiya, Duplicolor are my main three . And I prefer lacquer if at all possible. Testors wetlook clear is my primary top coat followed real close by Upol urethane clear. But I use Tamiya and duplicolor clears as well, Just depends on what I have avail at the time. The best advise I ever had offered to me ,,,,,,,, take your time and enjoy the ride.

What Do I Do?
gtx6970 replied to StevenGuthmiller's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'm sure you will make the right decision. But I agree if your sure you will never build it, either pay it forward or trade for something you will build. On a similar note a couple years ago a good friend of mine gave me a sealed Ramchargers Challenger funny car. ( broke the outside seal but it remains sealed inside ) The car is not accurate to the 1/1 so odds I will will never build it. But would feel bad if I sold or traded it off. So it will stay on my shelf . My heirs can decide what to do with it someday later ,,,MUCH later I hope -
Agreed. I started one of the a few years ago. I think I used a color from tractor supply

14 inch wheels were the standard rim in 1970 even on hemi cars baseline tire would have been a Good year polyglas F70-14 ( hubcaps would have varied with how it was ordered.) would have been either raised white letter or 3/8" pinstripe white line if ordered with 15" it would have been Goodyear F60-15 raised white letter on a 15x7 rim ( black rim if equipped with full wheelcovers and body colored if the small beenie wheel covers) or rallys ( silver rim with a light argent center cap and polished trim ring ) NO redline tires avail on anything mopar in 1970 -

gtx6970 replied to ChrisBcritter's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
361 and 413 truck engines have a very different water pump system compared to pass cars engines. I dont know enough about them to say if the rest is different or not -

Yellow ? Never noticed that detail -
IMO, going to depend A LOT on just how nice this kit is in person. Take the revell 1970 Cuda kit as an example. IMO its done nothing to the value of the original MPC kit. ,,,built or unbuilt. My gut tells me this will be no different
