cool, Ive been to the superbike races at Mid-ohio ( long time ago ) Enjoyed it a lot. i had a 1986 GSXR750 at the time and my knads weren't near as big as the boys riding them that day. But they were wicked cool to watch. Mid Ohio has a sharp S shaped chicane right before the start/finish line straight. In the final lap I watched the lead rider look back over his shoulder to see how close 2nd place rider was. He then looked back forward and while still with the bike almost completely on its side . He proceeded to pull the front wheel off the ground , then brought the bike back vertical ( while front wheel off the ground mind you ) and rode the entire straight on the back wheel, probably hit maybe 100mph

I believe the Phrase 'Funny car ' when first coined looked nothing like the modern day interpretation

I've had the Piranha kit in my hands a few times over the years. And I always put it back for some reason, Ive just never had that much interest to maybe build one. its intriguing just enough to be neat . And I MIGHT pull the trigger on one of these,,,MIGHT

MPC Funny Car Chassis Question
gtx6970 replied to Carmak's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I know the STP Super Hemi and Mr Norms car are the same as well as the 68 Color Me gone car ( never had the Cyclone to say for sure ) I can tell you the 67 Color Me Gone is all its own chassis and body tins I would venture to say the recent Beswick GTO is very similar,,,,, if not the exact same chassis . The AMT cougar is different for sure -
You know I love it. Ive seen the actual Tasca car in person many years ago. Wicked cool doesn't do it justice. I've wanted to build this model ever since the kit first came out Ive built 6 of these,,,so far. And have maybe a half dozen decals yet for others. Hope you don't mind but here's some inspiration for you.

I would like to have the body, glass and exterior trim from one of these. I could see a Rod Shop Prostock potential. -
Man I like that. Want to build one myself someday

The Revell 1971 GTX interior tub is 1/24th scale the AMT 1971 Charger is 1/25th scale -
The SS car was not campaigned in that form for very long. So pictures or rare. If you find pictures of the AFX sedan, its the same car just with an altered wheelbase

The one shown isa 440 car I am interested in color combinations and options in this body style. I MIGHT consider either a 66 Satellite , or maybe a 67 belvedere if the colors and options are there . But REALLY would prefer a 67 GTX 440 auto. And if I can find this exact color only with a copper interior , now that would get my heart pumping Although it would be nice , I'm afraid an original Hemi car is out of my budget

favorites I have owned in the past , 1969 GTX , Ive had 2 hardtops and 2 convertibles. ( all sold now ) Plan to own here soon. 1967 GTX Woudl LOVE to own one someday 1961 Chrysler 300 , convertible would be top of the list, but way out of my price range . so A hardtop would do nicely

Anyone able to confirm. I recently read an article and they way I read it. While in Dyno Dons ownership the car was 427 wedge powered. it wasnt till he sold the car, it became SOHC powered And I can find any evidence the car was ever straight axle equipped during his tenure
