  1. I'm working on a XKE. The dash has a bazillion small decals. My shaky 78 year old hands make this a particularly difficult task. What are some tricks for making this a little easier?

Nice job. Tell me a little about the Aleenes clear. Nice gloss.
  3. Welcome, Mike. We're finer than frog hair! ?
  4. Welcome aboard, Jason. GO VOLS!!! ?
  5. I'm a cat person. Loved the 3 German Shepherd dogs we had but the two cats we had were just great. I still miss them so much. Our neighbor just made a trip with her two children to the Galapagos Islands for a week and we cared for her cat Rooney. I've grown really attached to him. He's an older cat but still very agile and can leap up into a tall chair easily. I just love him. I'm so sorry for your loss.
  6. Welcome EAK! Like you, my area for race cars became my area for model cars. Built my own spray booth too. What kind of racing were you doing? I ran sports cars in SCCA and finally vintage racing with Vintage Drivers Club of America.
  7. Glad you're out and back with us Snake.
  8. Welcome to the forum. It's a great resource.
  9. I meant 1.05 mm but not on bodies. The #1 is 0.45 mm and the #3 is 0.75 mm. These are Paasche H sizes. I also use a Creos PS-290 with a fan spray tip and a 0.5 mm nozzle. Have I confused everyone enough? ?
  10. It depends on what air brush you're using. I typically use something around 0.5 mm.
  11. And Sigourney Weaver as her mom. JLH, wow, nature has been very, very good to her.
  12. Great career. If you've never seen Heartbreakers, check it out. Usually a bad guy but he did comedy pretty god.
  13. I built the Essex Wire replica. Easy to build.
  14. Lordy, Steve, you sure make me feel older than 78. ?
  15. One thing I'd like to add to this discussion is Tamiya primer is really hard to remove, if you need to. IPA will remove most paints but Tamiya primers are like granite. I haven't found anything that will completely remove it easily.
  16. ? Been there, done that. I still experiment though. Rustoleum acrylic enamel clear works over stuff like Createx and some craft paints.
  17. I use thick double sided tape attached to bamboo skewers.
  18. I don't believe they're talking about the actual temperature of the paint, they're talking about the chemical properties being too strong for the plastic and etching or "melting" the plastic.
  19. Yes, it goes back up a couple of psi. That's to be expected.
  20. Or you could go to Harbor Freight and get one a lot cheaper. I've got one with a digital display that I've been using for about 10 years. Is it accurate, I don't know. But I can replicate my results consistently. I'll mash the button to turn on the display, open the trigger on my air brush and adjust it to whatever pressure I need. I don't remember what it cost, but I think it was around $10-$15.
  21. Looks just like the museum putty sold at Hobby Lobby.
  22. Some may have heard of her but I really love Samantha Fish. Blues rock blend. Her guitars are something else. One is an old gas can. Another is made from an old cigar box. Easy on the eyes too. Check her out. 23. Welcome back to the hobby. Nice shop.
