  1. Another punch in the gut.. ? He had one of the best lines, "everybody's out to get you, paranoia is just good thinking ". Loved him and WKRP.
  2. What's MDF?
  3. So you know what happens if you shoot one. You'll wind up on the table. ?
  4. So cool. I hope no one wants to make a trophy out of her.
  5. The skills some people have amazes me. They're the kind of folks I wish had lived near me when I was growing up. I'd have swept their floors just to hang around and learn.
  6. Welcome! Your build preferences are aligned with mine.
  7. Louie was one funny man. I wondered what happened to his career. It seemed to peak a long time ago and then he sort of disappeared. He seemed to be resurfacing lately. I wonder if our parents felt this way during their later years as their peers passed away and we didn't even hardly know them? I doubt that my granddaughters know either one of them.
  8. Thanks, Ace, eBay is fine with me. Should have thought of that.
  9. Sometimes the stuff in the kit just isn't what you want to put on the completed kit. I saw the post about Shapeways and wondered what are some good sources for tire and wheel sets?
  10. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00Q2TTQEE?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details
  11. Sounds like you've gone to a lot more detail work than I did. I'd like to see it.
  12. I thought about that and decided that I could buy some rectangular steel and cut it to the desired length.
  13. Maybe. The plastic parts have grooves. I'm not sure what r/c servo tape is.
  14. One method I've ditched is "apply a couple of mist coats". I've read that advice here on the forum and it just doesn't work for me. I mostly spray lacquers, Createx or Scalefinishes products. I put on 2, maybe 3 medium to heavy coats. I've got a PS290 but really use my Paasche H with a #5 tip most of the time. I adjust my regulator to 20 psi with the airbrush trigger open. Distance is 4 to 6 inches. I base my speed on how the paint is laying down. I always focus on the surface as the paint goes on, not the brush or the spray pattern. Everyone has their system, that's mine.
  15. I've had issues in the past when trying to do delicate work on a project. I'm talking about placing decals, attaching very small parts, etc. I saw a suggestion some time back here on the forum about circuit board holders. Well, I ought one and I'm very happy with the results I'm getting. I've finished my Bugeye and used the holder when I was doing decal work and attaching parts like the windscreen and mirrors. I've included pics of the model before I attached the mirrors. What I really like is being able to rotate the model and hold it in place at any angle. I modified it by covering the each of the plastic holders with a soft makeup sponge. I used zip ties to hold them in place.
  16. I bought a quart (I think) at Walmart here in Tennessee.
  17. I thought it was a 1/25 but I'm thinking it's a 1/24 from Gunze. I think I tossed the original box
  18. Thanks for sharing this tip. Sounds like the solution to some of my problems. Solves the problem of thicker CA glue turning solid after a while.
  19. I've scratched them out and painted them, so they'll be on the model in the morning. I'll take pics and post them in the Under Glass section. This was one model I wasn't going to give up on, but it's time to get it finished.
  20. The name on my unit is Fortress Ultra Quiet. It has a 2 gallon tank that will run an air brush easily as well as air up tires.
  21. Go to Harbor Freight and get their smallest Ultracet model. It's about $150. I'm realy happy with mine. It's quiet enough that it sits below my booth.
  22. I really appreciate the recommendations for the mirrors but my model is 1/25 and the mirrors are 1/24. I've gone ahead trying to scratch build some. They probably won't match the ones on the 1:1 though.
  23. Thanks, Dave. Yeah, seems like the prices in the classic car market just keep going up with no end in sight. I recall people saying cocaine was an indication that people had too much money. I think that applies to classic cars now. ?
  24. Thanks! Considering the amount of time, money and effort, it's just about whipped me. Far from perfect, but I'm satisfied with it, so far. The mirrors are fabricated. Just got to paint and install them. So many opportunities to wreck it again. ?
