  1. Welcome, Marty!
  2. Welcome aboard, Erich!
  3. I love my Procon PS-290. Trigger action. Spraygunner has it on sale at $40 off retail. If you get it, add the Iwata handle. The pistol grip makes it super easy to use.
  4. Welcome aboard, Alan.
  5. Well, I wish I'd known this about a month ago. Tossed 2 cans of black cherry pearl. Like the OP, I should have asked here.
  6. Cool looking model. I knew a guy that used to vintage race an 800 with Vintage Drivers Club of America. It had a roller crankshaft and could rev to 10k or more. It screamed.
  7. I just looked and Just Like Glass is available through Hobbylinc.
  8. Welcome, Warren! Did you ever hear Warren with a warrant? ?
  9. It's great to see younger builders taking up the hobby. Great start on a cool model. She resembles my youngest granddaughter.
  10. Beautifully done.
  11. Welcome to the forum.
  12. Gotcha. I found these but they're for the 64, not 65 car. They look pretty close. Gotta measure them. The stuff in the kit is just awful. https://themodelcarchannel.store/collections/1-24-1-25-indycars/products/1964-1-25-black-indy-resin-tires-stones-one-set-2-fronts-2-rears
  13. That's not an indication that they won't reappear.
  14. I wonder why the number in the top pic is 83 but the kit decals are 82? The kit came with one half of one of the air ducts missing. It was still wrapped in plastic but I bought it from an individual, so they may have rewrapped it. I may take a shot at making a mold and casting the missing piece. But then, that would cover up the velocity stacks which I think look cool.
  15. Well, now I don't know what this kit is supposed to represent. Anyone have any idea?
  16. I had the same thing happen to me recently. Sand it down with 3600 and polish it with Tamiya fine polishing cream or whatever you use to polish your sanding marks out. Worked for me and looked like glass.
  17. The Procon line is supposed to be a clone of the Iwata products. I have a Procon PS 290 that I really like.
  18. I made mine out of wood. Also bought magnetic tool holders at Harbor Freight that bolt to the front of my shelves on my work bench and walls.
  19. Welcome, Jim.
  20. Welcome to the forum, G.
  21. You're doing exactly what I would suggest.
  22. An additional note. I'd use Tamiya's thinner with their paint, Mr. Color's thinner with their paint, etc. The home brew formulas are what I use for craft paints.
  23. For the thinner, I use 150 ml distilled water, 75 ml 91% isopropyl alcohol, 10 ml Liquitex Slow Dri Retarder and 10 ml Liquitex Flow Aid Flow Improver. I clean the gun with a 90 ml windshield cleaner, 90 ml distilled water, 50 ml 91% isopropyl alcohol and 10 ml glycerin mixture. Experiment thinning your paint till it sprays the way you want it to. Start with 50% paint and 50% thinner. Start with 20 psi for the pressure. It's a learning process with mixing, pressure, hand speed, distance, etc. I like the Anita's brand of craft paint.
  24. Me isn't even a car. I bought a 1/700 scale model of the ship I served on in the Navy. It's the USS Norfolk DL-1. The 1:1 was 540 feet long, the model is about 7" or 8" long. I don't know if I'll ever finish it. My skills are diminishing and the kit is full of tiny photoetch parts. The guy that sold it to me warned me it was for someone with real skills. I thought I could do it but I don't know. I wish I could find someone that could build it for me. I returned to cars about the same time that i bought it. That was 2011. I'd pay someone to build it if they were close to Chattanooga, TN.
  25. I watched a video last night on Barbatos Rex's YouTube channel. He sprayed some Dspiae Chrome Silver Marker from their 10ml refill bottle and it's the best chrome I've seen. It's out of stock though.
