Nytrozilla Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 That's just jaw dropping, punch you in the head, knock down gorgeous. I admire the daylights out of anyone that can pull that off.I assume you had to peel off each piece, then transfer it to the model? That's flat out nutz. In a good way.
Impalow Posted August 13, 2015 Author Posted August 13, 2015 Thanks guys! Im very happy with it... just need to do the green now without boogering it up.That's just jaw dropping, punch you in the head, knock down gorgeous. I admire the daylights out of anyone that can pull that off.I assume you had to peel off each piece, then transfer it to the model? That's flat out nutz. In a good way.Its actually way easier than that.. i used low tack premask/transfer tape, that kept all the spacing correct...so, i just had to apply the enitre sheet to the side, then peel off the transfer tape, leaving just the vinyl masking.
John Clutch Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Very unique!!!! I think a alien driving the car would really pull it all together

Smack me upside the headbone. I should have realized there would be a transfer sheet.
rustybill1960 Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 Whoa! I am impressed with your "as-you-go-thinnking"!! I am anxiously awaiting more paint Dude! Thank You for sharing Later Russ
Impalow Posted August 15, 2015 Author Posted August 15, 2015 Thank you guys!!!! Minor change of plans... I think I'm going to take it this route now... Kidding! Masking is done ready for some green paint when I get off work today! I just couldn't resist a photo op, it looks like the pro-touring love child of C3P0 and the first Apple computer... haha...
John Clutch Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 LOL! It doesn't look bad thus way either. It went from the drunk robot from Futurama to C3PO, so the look didn't change too much
Crazy Ed Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 If it was gonna look like the first Apple Computer it would be a Woodie! Interesting Paint treatments Eric.
mustang1989 Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 I don't see many Gremlins being done. The ideas are lookin' great here Eric.
Impalow Posted August 16, 2015 Author Posted August 16, 2015 Thanks you guys!!! Green paint on and masks peeled... Almost BMF time..
rsxse240 Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 I am quite eager to see this with all the chrome and radical engine finally put together.
slusher Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 I think its going to be killer any way you choose to go...
Impalow Posted August 18, 2015 Author Posted August 18, 2015 Thanks Joe and Carl! Ken I'm super excited to get this all together too. .. I somehow completely forgot about the driveshaft, so i built and painted one last night. I have always wanted to do a candy striped driveshaft, and this seemed like the perfect vehicle to do it. After that was done I wrapped up the final chassis assembly. (side note: Photo-etched bolt heads and washers are pretty amazing.) This bad boy is pretty much done except BMF, a few coats of clear and some windows.
Kustom Steve Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Looking good Eric, glad I was able to see the model at last Tuesday's NCAM meeting.
