Yet another test.............

55c120adba516_P8042556-vi1.thumb.jpg.a54

Ok, this is interesting------I pasted the URL of this pic into the "choose files" window field, clicked  "open" and a  thumbnail showed up. This pic is from Fotki, and NOT stored on my hard disc (actually the pic is, but the site didn't pull this from my disc). When you see the thumbnail, you can then insert the pic into the post, or drag it in.

One question though...........does this take away from a particular user's maximum file space by doing it this way??

Thanks BTW goes to 935K3 (Dale Beaver) for recommending this tip!

Lemme try one more.................

Hey this seems to work! And no "smooshed" view on my end! :D

For some reason, when I try to reply to other posts today using my iPad, as I start to enter in the reply box it takes me to a blank text entry page called googleadservices. It seems to let me reply if I quote someone.

I miss the ability to edit my own posts. And it would be good if the "recent post merging" could be optional.

You should be able to edit your posts.

I've been doing it.

If it's your post, there should be an "Edit" text in between the "Quote" & the "Options" text on the bottom of your post.

Just click on that & edit away.

Yes, you can still edit, but you cannot delete. I wish that and the friends list on our profile page were back.

You should be able to delete too Lee.

If you click on that "Options" text at the bottom of your post, "Delete" comes up as the only option.

I have not tried to delete a post, but it would stand to reason, that would be the place to go to try it.

I stumbled across a weird glitch, and a solution to it.  I'm posting here in case it can help anybody (apologies if it was already brought up).

I clicked "quote" on a post, and the Reply box populated with the post I was quoting, PLUS an earlier post I had quoted, but never followed up on actually replying to (I had hit the back button without hitting "Submit Reply"). I hit back and tried quoting the post again, and it still had the old quotes, plus the new quotes now showing up twice.

In the reply box, I hit "ctrl+A" to select all, and then delete.  This deleted the text, but left the Quote boxes. On a whim, I tried rapidly tapping the Backspace key twice, and this deleted the quote boxes too, and left me with a blank Reply box.

I went back, and clicked quote on the post, and got a reply box with only the post I was trying to quote.  The double backspace had cleared out the older quotes.

This happened in Chrome, on Windows 8.

thanks! I didn't see that, old age I guess, lol. But I still don't see how to delete a thread you started, we were able to before.

That I don't know.

I didn't think it was possible to delete an entire thread once it was started.

I do notice this site does have some strangeness with Chrome on Windows 10.   When I go to the home page, the 'View New Content' link is gone, and everything displays as one column---the birthdays that used to display in a column on the right are now at the bottom under the list of individual forums.

Today, if I try to enter directly in a reply box using my iPad, I get taken to an ad/404 not found text entry page. So I still have to quote someone (such as myself here) in order to post.

sjordan2, I'm with you on that with my iPad. Its to bad, as it will limit my activity here since I'm not on my desktop often.

I'm using Safari. How about you?

Now, yes, there are some issues with the picture posting, maybe your puter is still taking things from your browser cache, thatʻs a possibility, since the basic setting of the forum didnʻt change.

What's odd is the Model Trucks section, where previously, using the attachment feature to upload an image didn't work, but now that seems to be the only area of the forum where the "Insert Other Media" then "Insert Image from URL" does work.

Still testing

...so it seems to work if you manually type the IMG tags at either end. Still wish "insert Image from URL" worked -- it's a pretty big screw-up on Invision's part to miss that they've broken such a basic function while testing an "upgrade"...

My only issue is getting stuck on a post when I add to a thread ... the Firefox return arrow just leaves me in the thread and doesn't return where it should to the thread listing.I just hit the New Content button to return. . It's not every time and possibly when I add photos to a build thread of my own. I'm using the latest Firefox.

edit: well, I got stuck here, so not just my photos threads.

I just updated Firefox today and ever since, the homepage has a totally different look and operates much differently when selecting  forum categories or threads. Before that it was fine. Not liking at all...

So, are we going to get our friends list back, and the ability to lock our own threads?

Thanks Gregg for returning the ability to delete our own threads. One remaining question, will the friends list return?
