The could be the single greatest model kit ever created.  It has succeeded in turning 98% of this forum into whining 12 year old girls.  This clique doesn't like it cause it's not a full-on A-990 car.  This other clique is pouting in their Apple Cinnamon Cheerios that it's not a 6 Cylinder Econobox.

Congrats to Mr. Metzner for making NOBODY HAPPY!

Except me, because other than delighting the hypocrisy of how people were being burned at the stake for point out legitimate accuracy concerns in prior kits; compared to how this multi-page crybaby festival - which is now calling the box art, and perhaps the entire kit a mistake is being treated.  But beyond that I'm going to buy one and build the you know what out of it enjoying it exactly as Moebius intended a "Day 3" somewhat modernized hot rod.

I don't think I was whining one bit. I think the kit is fine for what it is. I may not get it. But, I think it's going to be a big hit for Moebuis.

Speaking of whining. If you think this is bad, go back and read the reviews on Revell's '70 'Cuda and '67 Camaro. (Both of which I like.) what your reading here is pretty mild.

Lost in a Disconnect

Don't you just LOVE Clowns that Don't Understand Honest, Simple, LEGITIMATE

questions about kits?!?!?!?!?

I Stated that the Box Art Shows a Family sedan AND LOOK----- I SEE A FAMILY THERE TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Father Plus THREE Kids Usually Equals FAMILY Outing!!!!!!!!!

Would YOU drive Your kits in a Car like this kit builds with RACE Exhaust designed primarily

to get the car the SHORT drive to the strip, then Back afterwards when Closed to "STREET" Setting??

I DOUBT it as it would Still be fairly LOUD in that car!!!

Kids can complain enough on long trips, think about the complaining you will put up with, NOT Just from Them

but EVERY ONE ELSE in the car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did ANYONE say they would NOT Buy the kit due to the Box Art Misrepresentation???????

I Didn't, and did not see any one else say that.

I did see 1 or 2 Repeat MY Question as to the Box art design!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did You READ???? (I think Yes, but Did NOT Understand WHY we asked the question)

Am I WHINING

If Asking the Question I am is in YOUR eyes whining then YES I MUST be. To YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And, How Many people NOT members here will DUMP this kit, Or MOEBIUS kits in General if this is their First

Purchase  Because They Can't Build the Stock Sedan on the Box!!!????!??!?!?!?!?

If I don;t get this kit it will be Due to COST factor NOT the Mistake in Box Art!!

I said I would LOVE to convert one to 4dr and as an LAPD Cruiser!!!!!!!!!!!!

And some one said LA County Sherriff had them too!!!!!

Do I Hope they see fit to actually Offer the kit as shown on THIS box art, YES I DO!!!!!!!!!!

Heck, I would LOVE to see Convertible and WAGON bodied kits from this series!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Next time BEFORE you call some one a Whiner, actually Take the time to READ what they say FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In hind sight I would suggest to Dave that the side panels could have been better used to show off the contents of the kit.  This one side panel is the only clue of the non stock parts.

I've put all the contents of this kit on line for everyone to see in advance,  it's the best I can do for those that want to do a little home work before buying this kit so that there are no surprise.

I think Dave's been pretty clear otherwise that it was not going to be a 100% stock kit. I think once you see all the future versions you'll understand why we got this kit the way that it is.   Other then a bench seat,  I think just about everything else to build a pure stock version is either in the Satellite kit or readily available in other common kits.

Yeah, sorry.  With Duff on this one. Just what can't be solved with a straight parts-swapping from the Satellite, just like Steve said?

You don't even need to be one o' them Nobel Laureate "REEEEAAAL MODELERS" to accomplish something that bone-headed.

My contention --and I'm certainly not alone in this-- is that if Moebius were to "give-away the farm" with one-version-of-multiples-versions ( e.g. , the Belvedere I in question here ) then what incentive would there be to buy the others versions which include the desired parts ? While I'm not necessarily a fan of modern tyres on older model vehicles (excepting , perhaps , decent representations of Radial tyres in "normal" sizes ) , I would have no problem buying the Satellite or its 'RO51' variant that's pending ( vis-a-vis Model King ) in order to have those parts for a "mix-and-match" build . All considered , the tyres included in this Belvedere I pillard coupe are desireable to at least 60% - 70% of the builders . Stands to reason , as I'm sure that there are many whom desire to build a replica of a "1:1" whose rolling stock consists of modern drag radials .

The golden age of AMT providing an , in es , 3-in-1 or  "build 2 complete models" , in modern-tooling , are gone (save for , ostensibly , the cadre of wonderful Round2 reissues) .

Kudos to Moebius (and Model King) for producing some of the greatest "oddball" subjects that either have never seen production or haven't seen light-of-day in 50-60 years !

Hope we get some new decals for these? I know Cady and Slixx has decals for the Grump 65 Winternationals Winner and Slixx has Shirley Shahan decals. But would love to see some of the others.

 Jack Werst's "Mr. 5 & 50"

The Mr. 5 & 50 Super Stock would be a fun build . Imagine adding the welding marks on the trans tunnel from the N.H.R.A.-recommended "Neutral-Drop" starts that grenaded the Torqueflite ! Ironic that the Chrysler Warranty Rep would pilot a car whose appetite for Torqueflites was unreal .

( As a side note : prior to 1968 , "loose" torque converters didn't exist ; the B&M 'J' Converter changed all of that . It's difficult to imagine that neutral-drops were standard launching procedure in sanctioned events ! )

I have to tell you guys I have been building models for 54 years and I display a lot of them all my friends and family and any other people that have looked at them through all the years no one person not one have ever said to me man that does not look right I think the things are off or the windows are to big or small that chrome is not like the real thing not one person has ever said that to me and nine of 10 people could not tell the deference if you had a photo of the real car setting next to the model Dam grow up build that's the only thing that's going to keep this hobby alive that and company,s like Mobius that are willing to go out on a limb and make new mold's of both the new and old cars to keep the ball rolling.!!!!!

just got mine in mail.  The chrome sprue is warped but doesn't look like any of the parts are warped.  I noticed the body and tires are not enclosed in plastic wrapping, all other parts are.  The body is VERY, very, very glossy and smooth, beautiful.  My only question is does paint take to this super smooth plastic ???  Of course I will be light sanding and removing any seams (not many at all).  So hopefully it will take to Tamiya type gray primer.

The smoother and shinier is the plastic on the body, the better the paint finish will be. Most Tamiya kits have mirror-like finish on the bodies. As long as the plastic is clean and free of oils, the solvent-based paints will stick to it very well.  When I use hobby paints on shiny bodies and the paint color is not too different from the plastic I skip the primer. The thinner the paint layer is, the more realistic the model will look.

This kit is great.

If it "makes nobody happy," as someone said above, then there will be plenty available for me to buy!!  No shortages for some of us.

New molds and still the shifter has the tree attached in the most obvious spot. Who laid this thing out? Revell has those new sprue points that disappear when you cut them. This is what should be employed from here on out.
